times over 60 years. Dont trust the guy who teaches his chlidren to kill you and your family, and that it is ordained and blessed by his god (allah). ....and Israel wont either. 8 miles wide is a walk across London, and should never be suicidal borders, aushwitz borders, for Israel, the tiny island of progress in a sea of Islamic intolerance.
3. Hey British novelist, plz ask your honor

Peace will not be achieved by ostracising Israel. Keeping the dialog going is the only way. It takes courage to stick to your beliefs despite the pressure. Glad you're here.
6. #3 Hey Salma, plz be honest
Cynthia ,   USA   (02.21.11)
Ghassan Kanafani was the spokesman for the terrorist organization PFLP. This organization blew up airplanes and they were responsible for the Lod Airport Massacre where innocent people were murdered. Kanafani was assassinated within days of this terror attack but it's unclear who killed him. What do you admire most about him? His involvement in a terror organization or his written work?
7. some things are crystal clear, but we often dont "process"..
eporue ,   europe   (02.21.11)
them mentally, somehow... the first step is, that we recognize, that "repressed" people are "victims"... the 2nd step is, that we think "victims" are "good people" - because its not them, who is doing wrong... means: they wouldnt do such a thing / something bad. => its of course wrong. a victim doesnt become a good or social person, just because of this... suppressed people can be more evil than the suppressor... and from this, there is often the question here: does this make the suppressor right ? ...."the west" clearly says "no"... what is then often misunderstood by israelis/jews as an attack against them... when it comes to "dialogue", or "coexistence", the israeli population is much much more open, tolerant, progressive and flexible towards solutions, and peaceful than every arab i ever met / read of... arabs and israelis lost all a bit of credibility, they are seen by the world as a bit one-sided, as of course everyone wants to defend "their case"... therefore, it is important, when people which have a public voice, as mcewan, mediate between the groups - and the rest of the world. i also believe, activists could do a "good job" in this... but its important, to see the things as they are, not as someone wishes they were... in this, at least the activists fail BADLY...
8. Big difference in cultures, expressions, and civilizations
Abraham ben Jacob ,   Canada   (02.22.11)
Civilised people like Israelis or others may criticise him verbally or by the written word. The Pals-Arabs-Muslims get so enraged if their ideas are even slightly challenged and their violent natures begins to reveal themselves. If you criticise these Pals -Arabs , you may get physically hurt, not merely criticised. The Pal-Arab-Muslim culture doe not allow or tolerate any criticism, and this is the important distinction between civilisations and civilised discourse.
