Obama was never going to vote for such a resolution. Whether you realize it or not - Obama is acknowledging the LEGALITY of the settlements. Obama is an attorney & an attorney would NEVER make a misstatement of law before any type of court body - it could cost him his license. Obama said that he didn't recognize the LEGITIMACY of the settlements. Legitimacy & legality are distinguishable in meaning & Obama means legitimacy to mean valid or reasonable - not legal. Now that you understand terms - what is Obama's game plan? Since Obama knows that the settlements are legal & only Israel can give away her land, he is attempting to coerce Israel into making a deal (treaty) which would irrevocabally give away some of her land. Now is the time for Israelis to think with a clear head, especially when Israel does not know what type of governments will be next door. (P.S. Obama told Israel to go to hell a long time ago - American Jews were just too stupid and full of themselves to understand plain English. Hopefully, enough of us have awaken up.)
