1. conversions

WELL DONE! There is some movement towards turning the conversion process into a civil procedure, alternatively to a religious one, like becoming an american citizen (possibly, but not necessarily, connected to any religion). This is outrageous. Judaism is an ethnicity NECESSARILY connected to religion, and to disociate one from the other is a freakness and a national suicide.
2. Great! So those converts who act like goyim will stay goyim

3. Check Abraham's grave, I think he just turned over.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (02.20.11)
4. who gave you rabbis that right?
Rabbi Ashkenazi ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.20.11)
How can you judge the sincerity of a Jew's heart? How can you know that the person converting might not have a descendant who will be a Torah scholar or the Messiah? How many "halachic" Jews today observe the Torah and mitzvot? Isn't it time we just accepted the conversions without prejudice?
5. I want to see the convert s intentions..
ORA ,   Jerusalem   (02.20.11)
to believe.

Here we go again, linguistic contortions. Now its a question of intention, surely going through the conversion process is the clearest evidence of intention to uphold the Torah? All these useless Rabbis, get out of peoples lives - you are no better than the Mullahs of Iran.
7. Converts
ORA ,   Jerusalem   (02.21.11)
In Israel, Israelis have the same rights than Jews.So why the desire to become Jewish? To the candidates for conversion, having contributed to Israel, who are not willing to keep the Tora laws ,it makes more sense to give them Israeli citizenship.
8. Showing intentions is life long.
Joseph   (02.21.11)
Intentions are shown in everything one does throughout his/her life to live a progressively righteous Jewish life. Filling out an application for conversion is not end of showing this intention.
9. #4 - Think about the logic of what you are saying
Nachshon ,   Albuquerque, USA   (02.21.11)
If you think about what you're saying logically, insincere geirim will never have anything good from them, let alone them being Shomer Torah. That being the case, no Talmid Chacham will decend from them. Halachicaly, Mashiach can never decend from them. In Torah, actions and Mitzvot speak louder than words or intentions. During the geirut process, if they lied about keeping the entirety of Miztvot, then they are not Yehudim. There can be no compromise!
10. Press seldom writes on priests here. Rabbis r nonsense also.
Michael ,   California, USA   (02.21.11)
11. #2, no... just the price of bribes to rabbis will go up
Danny   (02.21.11)
12. #8 For a Jew too!
(02.21.11)
Are you kidding me? But conversion is a contract at a point of time just like it was with Israel at Har Sinai. You haven't studied Torah much have you?
13. Civil marriage the only solution
Avramele   (02.22.11)
No one lies no one compromises
14. 13 Avramale
ORA ,   Jerusalem   (02.22.11)
In any case,a better solution than fake converts.
15. Deri
Jack shmoe jr ,   israel   (03.10.11)
We need Aryeh Deri! As the son of TEPPAC public affairs director, I call on the anglo community to support Deri in re-entrance to the government. Only Deri brought results, enough to scare off the ruling cliq of WISPs so far as to resort to shove him away. WE need leaders like DERI to bring back power to the people and our interests!
