Ricardo Macher ,   Karnei Shomron IL   (02.22.11)
Isn't this one of the "rightful" organizations that should explain where their funding is coming from? Isn't this acting plainly against Israel? Whoever believes that investigating them is fascist and undemocratic is partnering with them against our country! I do care about "human rights" but at least to me, Israel's survival is FAR MORE IMPORTANT than some people's sensibilities.
2. First: will someone explain the relevance of culture in pali
tom ,   tel aviv   (02.22.11)
society?!! What's the connection between say Bartok and 72-virgins? Second: just send the Useful Musician: Barenboim, the virgins love him , right?
3. tour of philarmonic
dr daniel mostrel ,   paris   (02.22.11)
fed up with these morons;please hold on israel against all these liars who hide themselves behind israel governement policy but in fact are against the existence of the state of israel ; welcome to paris
4. Never mind incitement . . .
noa ,   israel   (02.22.11)
There needs to be a law against ignorance. Get a dictionary. What is apartheid? Hmm? Are there or will there be Jews in Palestine? Are there Arab citizens in Israel? Do they sit on the same buses, eat in the same restaurants, go to the same universities, get treated in the same hospitals? I would think even South Africa would be angry by the trivialization of the term. Ask them what Apartheid is.
5. I never agreed with boycotts, but...
Ricardo Macher ,   Israel   (02.22.11)
when I think that Lieberman and this horrible right wing Government benefit from the good image of IPO, I start considering the boycott as a good measure to pressure Israelis to vote properly next time...
6. Bonkers?
Tim ,   Brighton   (02.22.11)
In the UK these PPG guys are boycott obsessed! Recently in North London a couple of these idiots attempted to 'pursuade ' me outside not to buy anything from a Builders Merchant called Jewsons! (No Jewish connection!) I got chatting and it it turns out that for them and their PPG Groups in the UK ANYTHING Jewish or Israeli is 'Fair Game' for boycotting. They said it was cool and had a good giggle! Pathetic!
7. These people trive on misery, they hate to see anyone doing
Jason Dermott ,   LA US   (02.22.11)
Well and enjoying themselves, they never stop whining, miserable sods. They have corralled the Left to do their dirty work for them.I wish the IPO all the best, because they ARE the best.
8. Go to events with Israeli...
Carsten Schmidt ,   Germany   (02.22.11)
...artists whenever they show up in your region. Please help to protect those artists from being attacked at such events by anti Israel or antisemitic extremists, if necessary physically. We need to become more to be able to act efficiently...!
9. to #5 lol you got multipersonality disorder
ghostq   (02.22.11)
you don't agree but you agree, talking about self conflict. and any outside presure will cause the Israelis to vote for lieberman, outside presure as history as thought only leads to the opposite result, the UK put a presure on countries and those countries ended up in civil war, like in iraq.
10. I heard that Zubin is Indu
ghostq   (02.22.11)
which means that pro palis got beaf with others now.
11. Ricardo @ 5, you are one terribly confused individual.
leo ,   usa   (02.22.11)
Do you really think that those people differentiate or even care whether you are Ricardo Macher or Avigdor Lieberman? Do you really think had you been PM or FM anything would've been different? Your naivete is unbelievable.
12. #6 Tim
Edwin ,   Canada   (02.22.11)
Thanks Tim, your post highlights what is going on in these idiot's minds. I have noticed each generation produces a crop of simple-minded young people who think it is cool to protest the cause de jour, without regard of the consequences. In my generation growing up in N. Ireland, it was the so-called Civil Rights movement calling for "One Man, One Vote"!
13. Arabs must support coexistence
i.zwick ,   nyc   (02.22.11)
If the PA wants its own state, Arabs should first demonstrate that they are willing and able to coexist peacefully with a Jewish state. A good way to start is to support and participate in cultural events such as music, theater, athletics, and academics. Boycotting these events does not evince an interest in peaceful coexistence.
14. Israel should cut off all contact with the
jason white ,   afula, israel   (02.22.11)
palis.Let them stay in our liberated territories, but never leave their towns and cities. Prevent them from entering any Israeli institute or hospital. Too bad this was like it was in the 70s. The J.D.L. knew how to handle groups like adala. Finally adala should be banned as a terrorist aiding group in Israel. Time to remove rights from the arabs and their hara-dim brothers and sisters.
15. To # 5
Marucho ,   Bs.As. Argentina   (02.22.11)
...to pressure israelis to vote properly next time...? To vote properly according to who´s judgement...? Yours, Mr. Ricardo Macher? C´mon..., gai cackn..!!
16. Israel Philharmonic Orchestra been around since 1936
Shame   (02.22.11)
As with many institutions in Israel. including energy, education, media etc the Orchestra has been around long before 1948/67 and was working in conjunction with the Mandate on Palestine to create the infrastructure for the Jewish State.
17. no. 8
Misha Horenstein ,   Tel Aviv   (02.22.11)
Carsten, good post, I agree with you! Now it's time to lift the ban on Wagner in Israel
