8. The Sheikh and the forests
Nilus ,   Schweiz   (02.22.11)
Instead of quoting something rather irrelevant of what the Sheikh said when he left prison Ynet would better quote his reasons of why he tried to set fire to that forest. I doubt that it would impress many of Ynet's readers, but it might help put the Sheikh's position in a whole different light. Although I don't know exactly why he did it, I make an educated guess, that it has something to do with the latest JNF activities in evicting bedouins from their villages in order to plant a forest sponsored by messianic christians. Probably he also didn't forget the 400+ Palestinian villages that were razed to the ground by Israel after the 48-war to prevent the Palestinian refugees from returning. Many of their ruins were concealed by JNF-Forest planted soon after. If these additional informations would be supplied by Ynet it would actually help the few people who are willing get the full picture. Thanx in advance for all the ad-hominem attacks from those who are not willing.
9. Clown
Ron ,   OC, US   (02.22.11)
Rather than Israel absorb the expense of prison and reforrestation, this clown should be stripped of his citizenship and deported to Gaza or an Arab country that will take him.
10. Salah - treated like Royalty in South Africa
Trevor ,   Modiin Israel   (02.22.11)
A few years ago the Muslim community of South Africa invited Raed Salah to attend events and address the community, he was treated like royalty and given the red carpet treatment - He convinced the entire Muslim population that the Jews are going to destroy AL Aksa - they believed the shmuk. He is a dangerous and evil man

activity. Serioulsy how stupid can you be to not shut the door and lock the key on this guy. Put him in with the roughest criminals and when he is offed so he had repisratory problems. Who would lose sleep over this henchman of Islamo Nazis being removed from the world. He sets fire to Jews, to Trees, to tolerance, to Judaism, to decency, to the law. In america a repeat offender gets 30 years minimum. this guys would be at around 400 years. Hope next time he is in longer than 5 months. pathetic of the leftist courts.
14. Innocent Bystanders
Nossen Dachoseen ,   NYC   (02.22.11)
How, in your right mind can you say "deport him to Libya"? 775 innocent bystanders have been killed there in the last 24 hours alone!
15. Every pharmacy has Sheik's
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (02.22.11)
Salah is an exception to the rule, He’s just a plain out and out criminal To be a good host, he was preparing a feast for his guests, except he got his priorities backwards, he forgot to steal the sheep, blaming on the Jews, before he set the fire I have a suggestion, when he is sentenced for arson, since he likes to cook, place him on permanent Toranut in the kitchen Cleaning the grease traps is ever so much fund

Michael ,   New York   (02.22.11)
There are so many, I don't know, educated guess, probably, etc, etc... to Nilus living in Switzerland, you would be better off skiing in your Alps then attacking Israel anyd making such outlandish conjecture. Go eat some Swiss chocolate or something. You make great watches, but based on your comments, the antisemitism that has long existed in your country continues to this day. By the way, thank you to your country for collaborating with Hitler and the Nazi's during WWII. the more things change, the more they stay the same.
19. #8 - even if, the Bedouin villages are not recognized
William ,   Israel   (02.22.11)
as they sat on State land as squatters. Last I checked, that's not accepted in any of the 195 Countries on our planet. Maybe in Switzerland anyone can just walk out and set up a village in the middle of a forest or high in the Alps (which I doubt) but not in Israel. By setting alight a forest, Salah may have made a point but he abuse the rights of the 7 million citizens in Israel who collectively own that forest. He essentially ran over the rights of others for his own gain. Is that acceptable in Switzerland as well? Somehow, I doubt that would fly in the land where minarets and midnight calls to prayer were recently banned.
20. #8 - equally, JNF should plant in West Bank and Gaza
William ,   Israel   (02.22.11)
in the locations of many Jewish villages and property that was stolen and destroyed at the hands of Arabs from 1920 onward. Instead of relying on Ynet to provide the full story, you should educate yourself and I do believe there are history books that deal with the matter deeper. For instance, there are books that outline how the Grand Mufti set in motion the mass exodus of Arabs based on a rumor of a massacre, rather than the being forced out by soldiers. You can read how Israel offered those Arabs who fled to return, IF they would remain peaceful and acceptable obligations as citizens of Israel, and how collectively, the Arabs refused to those terms which were outlined in UNR181. You can also read about precedents in other wars, supported by Intl Law, of how civilian infrastructure and people become legal targets if used in combat, and how many villages targeted by Israel were infact used by Arab irregulars to target Jews in the early days of the war. How odd for a contingent of Iraqi soldiers to be wandering around Jenin in 1948, wouldn't you agree?
21. #8 Nilus, far be it for an inhospitable
BEN JABO ,   ISRA EL   (02.22.11)
country like Switzerland, to tell others what they should give to illegal occupants Bedouin's by nature, are wanderers, they don't set down roots, and they follow their flocks as the graze Ask a Bedouin for a land deed, is asking him for something he doesn't have and never did have The villages you mentioned were abandoned because their leaders urged them to leave, with promises of returning to conquered Jewish Land after the Arabs won the '48 war They gambled on gaining Jewish land, and lost their gamble You're not giving a full picture, just a slanted one, so don't try being deceptive, because you're a failure We haven't forgotten the courtesy the Swiss showed to Jewish refugees seeking Asylum; first you had them deposit their valuable in your banks, and then sent them to the border to be returned to the Nazi Extermination /Camps Swiss aren't exactly known for being courteous to strangers The survivors had to force your banks to return the items they were holding; fact is they still have some awaiting extrication It's not an "educated Guess" on your part, it only displays your ignorance of events..The Sheikh is a rabble rouser, you're following in his footsteps One thing I will say in the Sheikh's favor is that he is here, you're Yodelin nonsense in the Alps.
22. #10 - he's on as evil as Muslims are dumb
William ,   Israel   (02.22.11)
Like convincing a drug addict to take a hit of cocaine. Salah wasn't dispensing anything this crowd wasn't hungry for. Salah, head of the Islamic Movement - coming straight from the evil bowels of the Muslim Brotherhood, used the same lie as Al-Husseini did back in the 1920s which led to massacres of Jews in the streets and their homes. Back then, the crowd was filled with racist Muslims who needed a little pushing to manifest their hate into action. How is that different from today? Salah may be evil, but the real evil is in the hearts of Muslims who not oly refuse to object to Salah, but welcome his racist, genocidal rants.
23. #14 - good news...Salah is NOT an innocent bystander!
William ,   Israel   (02.22.11)
So both problems are solved.
24. @ Michael, Will and Ben Jabo
Nilus ,   Schweiz   (02.23.11)
1. Contrary to you I would never defend what Switzerland and it's banks did during these terrible times. I would also never say that the Jews brought it upon themselves and their leaders told them to leave Poland cause there were some "rumours" about extermination camps. 2. By your historical logic you reveal that you chose to rely completely on one-sided propaganda. It's your right to do so, but then you'll also never understand the plight of the other side and therefore never reach peace. If you took your time to check other sources (of your own people) you would start to realize that. 3. The Bedouins were deprived of their nature as wanderers by the Israeli State that zoned large chunks of the Negev as Firing Zones and for development of Jew-only-towns. Also the State actually forced the Bedouins to abandon their lifestyle and settle. 4. The Grand Mufti left the country in 1937 and never returned. 5. Israel never offered the refugees to come back. On the contrary, they systematically destroyed hundreds of their villages and even the old Arab quarters in severaly cities exactly to prevent them from returning. 6. The Swiss banks paid back their dues several times over. Much of it is actually still sitting in the accounts of the Claims Conference waiting to be paid to those who really deserve it. 7. Israeli banks hold as much money from holocaust victims as the swiss, but they refuse to pay it back. 8. Most locations of the few destroyed Jewish villages from 1948 haven't been planted over by JNF forests but by Jew-only-settlements. 9. Yes, many Swiss aren't exactly courteous towards strangers. I don't belong to those. 10. I can't yodle...
