I don't think that you understand why Iran sends 2 old obsolete warships to the Med. The idea is to provoke the Israeli Navy into a confrontation. If the Iranian lose the 2 ships , they will claim that the Israeli warmongers started the attack and Iran is willing to sacrifice the 2 boats. On the other hand if Israel remains impassive, it will confirm that the tiger is toothless and Iran can go on with its provocations. If the Israeli Navy can jam the Iranian boats navigation systems, the boat might even crash into each other and get damaged thus allowing the Iranians to retreat without loosing face.

Iran is sending a cargo ship to deliver large ground to ground missiles to Hizbollah by first delivering them to a Syrian port. Those missiles have the range to hit Tel Aviv and the Dismona nuclear plant from Lebanon. They are sending a frigate to accompany their cargo ship to ensure that if Israel tries to stop and search the cargo ship, the Iranian frigate will intervene and it will cause a state of war with Iran and the whole Muslim world. Otherwise, why send a cargo ship from Iran to Syria? Time for Israel to build underground nuclear reactors that are impervious to missile strikes, and close and disassemble the Dismona nuclear reactor to protect Israel's population from radioactive fallout.

They send "war ships" but they really just supply ships. It puts Israel in an awkward position. As a supply ship although it carries weapons for the enemies of Israel... maybe not (could have been a set - up)...Just in case Israel did stop the ships, after all Iran couldn't be 100% sure what would happen. But from a PR standpoint to board a supply ship from Iran, makes a different impression, than a destroyer. Add to that, the Army Generals need money, and may have to make a run for it.
