test us?!.....Guess what Bibi-the-Clueless, Hamas completed their "testing" years ago. Their test concluded they could bomb us with general impunity.
2. Beware or bibi and barak will huff and
jason white ,   afula, israel   (02.24.11)
puff and blow your houses down. The terrorists must be shaking in their boots. They cannot wait for the new PC officers to come into gaza and give them chocolate bars and protect them from the I.D.F. And remember we have those candy ass JAG lawyers just waiting to lynch I.D.F. soldiers for defending themselves and Israel. We need a government that will strike at the civilians as well as the terrorists in gaza. Let them live in fear of Israeli rockets, missiles and artillery shells.
3. We should strike back
(02.24.11)
We speak too much about peace during they send us mostly everyday the rockets! We with them the languege that they understand best of all, that means massive STRIKE BACK. The same apply to Syria: IF THEY WANNA PLAY, LETS MAKE EM PAY!!!
4. If Israel just...
Joav ,   Germany   (02.24.11)
singing in Hebron, then the UNO come together and blame Israel for singing in "the occupies territories, but when the rockets hits Israelis cities and innocent people then we here just silence from UNO. Good justice?! I am looking forward in the future to hear something from Ban Qui Moon. LOL
5. Really ? Assad challenges you ?!?!?!
Salma ,   Palestine   (02.24.11)
R U Kiddin Me ?! maybe you mean that Assad does not send enough Syrian Baklava instead of Golan apples ?! ohhhh....he has no right, but surely he has something better to do ; )
6. Multiple Choice? Stay with "C:"
GideonReader ,   USA   (02.24.11)
IF Syria and by extension Lenanon is testing Israel, the test committee has made a large mistake. The clock has now mandated a positional restablishment, free of concerns of condemnation by the US, and certainly, the USA. Israel is free to act with crushing and major disporportional force towards ANY extential threat, as may be precieved by the elected leadership. When fornicating with the bull, horns are always a consideration.
7. #To all: be advise Salma is paid to spread arab propaganda

9. the big bad wolf huffed and puffed
jo   (02.24.11)
but did not bring the house down. Since 67, all we seem to be doing is talk, talk, and more talk. Nothing to brag regarding gaza and Lebanon. In Lebanon, we exchanged live terrorists for 2 dead IDF soldiers ( no one bothered checking if the 'merchandise' was in good condition ). In gaza, we did not bring back our abducted soldier, and we are going to pay dearly for his release. There is something amiss in our defense system, organisation. It must be corrected before the "first salvo "
10. Message to Syria
Lioness ,   Israel   (02.24.11)
Tick Tock, Tick Tock, the clock is ticking. BANG BANG, Goodbye Syria!
11. "We won't tolerate bombing"
Dan ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (02.24.11)
Bibi! I have news! You and your predecessors have tolerated the bombing and terrorizing of our innocent citizens in the South and continue to do so. When are you going to get it through your head that appeasement only begets more terror? When will we be worthy of leaders who do what they were elected to do?......to protect, preserve, and defend our citizens. That should be priority number one for any elected government. This policy of appeasement is just a continuation of what has been occurring and has only emboldend our enemies and brought them up to the very borders that threaten the existence of our tiny State.
12. WELL - ? -
Orao. ,   Srbia.   (02.24.11)
What will Assad and Syria do, if they have only two options - An Uprising from the People toTopple Assad, or, A Military strike against Israel to avert the Uprising, Either directly themselves, or through Hizbollah an or Hamas ? Hamas. What would Hamas do in the options Syria will take ? Hizbollah. As Hamas. Orao.Sria.
13. #7 Stephan, we know !!
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (02.24.11)
Surely you've heard of the old saying "Buyer Beware", whoever is paying is getting a royal screwing, they're paying for incompetency and giving me a good laugh as a byproduct
14. Syria's Nuclear Weapons
dmaak112 ,   Wilkes Barre,USA   (02.24.11)
There is only one country that has nuclear bombs. It is not Syria. Faced with Israel's arsenal, having its lands occupied, and having its airspace violated with impunity, Syria has every right to arm itself in defense of its territory.
15.  BEST SAY NOUGHT

19. I fear for the innocent people of Syria ...

Assad's goal is to 'martyr' a few thousand Syrians by provoking Israel to defend herself. Isaiah 17.
20. Assad Shouldn't Challenge Us
Barry ,   Los Angeles   (02.24.11)
Bibi talks like Samson and acts like Delilah. There was no reason why he did not order interdiction of the Iranian ships headed for Syria and his inaction will encourage the enemies of Israel to step up the attacks. And of course, Obama likewise ordered no interdiction because he's as big a wuss as is Bibi. RONALD REAGAN, WE NEED YOU.
21. Bibi, what if your family was in that bombed house?
David ,   Hartford USA   (02.24.11)
Would that be enough to make you call out the IAF and bomb the crap out of those psychopaths? Just what will it take? Are you waiting for Israelis to die so you can be 'justified' in ordering a heavy attack? I have news for you: when an Israeli dies due to a rocket, you will be impeached for derelection of duty and cowardice. You should be ashamed to call yourself Israel's protector. Now start acting like a PM and very forcefully convince Gaza that lobbing bombs is a bad idea. Do you know what you have to do? Do you??????
22. Iranian strategy is working
Ali Kazim ,   Kut, Iraq   (02.24.11)
I think many Israelis including so called many strategists are still under the impression that they are still dealing with old Syria when Syria was a client state of Russia, alas, the new power system. Now Syria understood and perfected the role: Let Iran do the heavy lifting against Israel while Syria collect more power and influence , so Israel is weakened , then Syria will will attack at the right time. All you really need is more of the same for few years or if Israel attack Iran . If Israel attacks Iran , then Syria will come at the at the end , if Israel attacks syria , then hizballah will be there ready , and Iran will be left to be the superpower of the region only to pick up Israel at later stage . So, whatever you do unless you can soundly defeat Iran right away , or Syria and hizballah at the same time.
23. Yet leftist dolts say we should cede Golan!!!
Chaim ,   Israel   (02.24.11)
What else is new? Even as our enemies arm for war against us, leftist dolts mount their one trick pony and urge us to cede our land. Can this be called anything but insanity?
24. Assad just took delivery of Iranian weapons...
David ,   Hartford USA   (02.24.11)
that can turn Tel Aviv and Haifa into smoldering ruins. The US did nothing (of course), but Israel did nothing. Does anyone really think the Iranians were off-loading baklava?? Syria has enough firepower to create such damage in major Israeli cities that the country will cease to function. Add the hordes in Gaza and Lebanon stampeding the borders and the country is history. Has nobody considered this?? Why is Bibi impotent? Israel won't exist in another year if he doesn't start behaving like the leader of an endangered species! When someone shoots at you, shoot back with a bigger gun until they stop. Is that so hard to understand?
25. The Timing is Just Perfect !
Dr. Honey ,   Gaza   (02.24.11)
Israel loves Assad. No body has kept a an Israeli border so calm and so peaceful as the Assad regime for the last 30 years. Now, at the prospect of Syrians following the foot steps of the rebellious arab populations, it is a risk to replace this corrupt, weak, intimidated man with the true people of Syria who can not live with the shame of their land being occupied. So, Mr. Bibi thinks: well let's stage a crisis that would unite those dum people around their hero president, and every one would be happy!

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.24.11)
Excuse me, but Israel acquired the Golan Heights in the course of fighting a DEFENSIVE war against Syria. Between 1948 and 1967, the Syrians used the Golan Heights to shell Israeli kibbutzim and towns in the valley below on almost a daily basis. Tractors had to be armored, and children nightly slept in bomb shelters. That said, Israel has formally annexed the Golan Heights. It is part of Israel now -- you know, sort of like what the United States did in the Gadsden Purchase, annexing Arizona, New Mexico and southern California. Moreover -- since the U.S. violates Pakistani airspace on a routine basis, does that mean that Pakistan would be justified in shooting down U.S. planes? You know, the Syrians tried it in 1982. Didn't go so very well for them -- in the course of a little over a day, the Israeli Air Force shot down 82 Syrian MiGs, many of which were piloted by Russians. Moreover, I remind you that while Israel has been a nuclear power since the mid-1960s, it has never launched a nuclear payload, not even in 1973. In sum, you are a fool and you are addressing a topic about which you clearly know nothing.

No, he didn't. I saw live video of the vessels transiting the Canal. They were ballasting, riding very high in the water (you can see that in the still photographs as well). I suspect that Israel realized this, too, which is why the vessels were allowed to berth in Latakia. Moreover, satellites -- both U.S. and Israeli -- have been trained on the port of Bandar Abbas nonstop. A vessel taking on cargo of a military nature has a very distinct signature. This was a tempest in a teapot. Iran is trying to provoke Israel. So they send an empty frigate and an empty supply ship through the Canal (anyone that knows anything about large vessels in water can tell when a ship is ballasting and when it is cargo-laden). Iran knew better than to put Israel to the test by actually attempting to ship weapons. Israel has blown Iranian vessels out of the water before and has destroyed an Iranian convoy on the ground in Sudan before. If need be, Israel will do it again. Iran is desperately trying to rally its fragmenting and increasingly discontented society around a "common enemy," and is attempting to cast Israel in that role. Israel did not take the bait. The mullahs must be getting frantic, but are not yet so desperate that they are willing to test Israel's resolve. The Islamic Republic's leadership doesn't completely trust its military; its military is not all that good and is not well-armed (like all tyrants everywhere, Ahmedinejad [and Khamenei] fear a military coup). Battalions of the Revolutionary Guards (whom they do trust) are being deployed to put down protests in quite a few cities throughout Iran, and could not be easily mobilized into a cohesive and focused fighting unit. Even if they could, it's not as if the Revolutionary Guard are any better than Iran's regular military forces -- they're just loyal to the regime and are fanatical Moslems. Iran wants to appear to be the victim, to galvanize support and sympathy within Iran, thus reducing the alarming amount of dissent. Israel end-played Iran rather nicely -- Iran spent tens of thousands of dollars on IFO and MDO fuel, lube oils, victualing and paid staggering Canal fees just to berth two empty vessels at Latakia. I am sure that Israel is observing activity at the dock in Latakia, and that Israeli officials are enjoying a good belly laugh, watching two vessels not discharge any cargo .... because there isn't any to discharge. In a few days, they will turn around, and repeat the voyage in reverse, mangy tails tucked neatly between their legs. The mullahs have egg on their faces. Their transparent ploy did not work. Israel’s too smart.

Hate to burst your bubble, but the border hasn't been all that quiet. Do you remember when Israel shot down 82 Syrian MiGs in a little over a day in 1982, all Israeli aircraft returning safely to base? That was exciting (although not for the Syrians, I suppose). The other reason the border has remained so calm is because Israel is at Quneitra, and can take Damascus with very little effort. What's more, Syria knows it.
30. Nuclear weapons development hardly a Syrian desire RIGHT ???
M.S. ,   mpls america   (02.26.11)
I realize Syria may sound less than moderate to Israel but does Israel sound moderate no not to me they both belong in the same league more less certifiable by American standards but then I do not go by American standards either and so let us stop calling Syria a Nuclear Axis of Evil start dealing with a the real Syria right RIGHT ??? Thank You... M. S.
