"...the system will begin operating as soon as the batteries are properly activated and the IDF is ready. " Smart move Ehud... you wouldn't want to shoot down any of your own aircraft or expend a $30k missile on a flock of birds.
2. This is a "Distraction" ordered so as to deter attention
JO   (02.24.11)
from the chaos in the Arab countries and bring Israel in as a scapegoat. No one is fooled. Many are feeling very fragile at the moment.
3. Mubaraks away... Time to replenish
RJBH ,   Methil   (02.24.11)
but Israel is the aurthor of its own .."Misfortunes"... you treat Gaza like the Prison it is... and the occupants as inmates... Just remember they are your cousins... Not Gypsies.
4. Iron Dome cant protect Tel Aviv from Grads
zionist forever   (02.24.11)
The only way to protect Tel Aviv, Beersheva, Sderot and the rest of the cities is for offensive operations. Cast Lead was on the verge of achieving all its aims but then good old Barak, Livni and Olmert stopped it. The army wanted an extra couple of weeks but all election campaigns were on hold and Likud was well in the lead and so Barak and Livni needed to get back on the campaign trail so they got Olmert into declaring an unconditional pull out, Another Lebanon pull out we leave unconditionally and let Hizbollah rebuild so they are ready for the next round. Iron Dome other than the fact its $50,000 per kill and Hamas have thousands of rockets it would be useless against Grads. Iron Dome is designed to take out short range rockets like Kassams coming from Gaza - Sderot. The Grads are medium range rockets. There is no magic bullet to protect from these rockets and Israel's are entitled to the truth not bullshit from politicians about how Iron Dome is going to solve all our problems.

My reply is not to you and your confrères who hate Israel enough to spam this site with falsehoods and misinformation every day. It is for the uninformed who may not recognize your deliberate lies for what they are. You fail to report there is a chicken-egg effect: Hamas attacks occupied dwellings, Israel responds by demolishing empty buildings. Hamas attacks, and you protest it was but a little, inconsequential thing you did. Israel responds, and the you protest it was a war crime they did.Stop your violence today and there will be peace today!
6. Dereliction of duty
Jack ,   LA, USA   (02.24.11)
This is a total dereliction of duty by the Israeli government. Both Barak and Nataniahu must be held responsible. Where are you, people of Israel? Why are you letting these wimps to do nothing? Iron Dome? Give me a break.

Barney ,   USA   (02.24.11)
you seem to forget that Israel left gaza and it was not a prison. It only became a "prison" after its terrorists inmates starting shooting rockets into Israel. Wealthy Jews even paid for the greenhouses so the palis would have a way to earn an honest living but the pull of terror, hatred, and ignorance is just too strong for these people. They made their bed and when a rocket hits the wrong place gaza will be carpet bombed.
8. not news
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (02.24.11)
The "prediction" that Tel Aviv will be attacked is not new. In 1993 Zionists predicted that Tel Aviv would be attacked by rockets if the Oslo accords were implemented. Before the Ethnic Cleansing, Ariel Sharon predicted that the fate of Netzarim is the fate of Tel Aviv, meaning rocket attacks followed by destruction. About two years ago, the IDF gave Israelis a refrigerator magnet showing that in the next war, Tel Avivians will have two minutes to reach shelter from rocket attacks. In recent war games, the IDF found that in the next war Tel Aviv will suffer at least thousands of casualties from rocket attacks.
9.  The Iron Dome Is a roofless dome
Maxime Love Israel ,   ISRAEL / USA   (02.25.11)
The best protection is a strong deterence... The roofless Iron Dome will not be able to stop thousands of midium grads missiles fired at israeli towns and cities. The best protection is a strong strategic deterence by the use of massive air and ground assaults on hamas positions until the enemy is completely destroyed. The Iron Dome hightech missile games will not secure the Israeli sky. The security of the sky belongs to the IAF as always thank G-D. The Hamas missile installations belong to the IDF with full force. The Gaza "take2" is just around the corner. Next round will have to be the last for he North and for the South. It is the only alternative that can assure Israel's national security and existence.
10. rocket attack
howard banks ,   usa   (02.25.11)
israel should give a final warning, the next rocket attack, the entire area from which they come will be vaporised. after 60 years enough is enough.
11. Backward thinking!
David ,   Hartford USA   (02.25.11)
When psychopaths are launching rockets at you, you don't hide, you get your weapons ready and go eliminate the threat. If the threat is dug in, then the weapons that must be used must be bigger. So be it. Better Gazans get killed for supporting the psychopaths than Israelis in their homes. That may not be pretty to say in this world of left-leaning idiots, but that's life. If you support Hamas in any way, be prepared for whatever may come of it. If Israelis cannot live in their homes in peace, then neither will anyone in Gaza. Bibi, you cannot protect your people with spineless threats. Order up the artillery and shake the earth.
