1. INSTEAD OF BEING " FURIOUS"
LAWRENCE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (02.26.11)
Israel should be buying arms and cruise missiles from Russia....money talks.
2. missiles to syria
howard banks ,   usa   (02.26.11)
if russia wants some of the action, her skies are within in reach of nuclear fireballs from hell too.
3. a small problem
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (02.26.11)
These cruise missiles are a small problem for Israel. Like every other war in Israeli history, the next war will start with an unprovoked Arab attack on Israel. The Israeli air force first sortie will destroy these batteries in minutes. For the Americans these missiles are big problem. If the Americans attack Iran, their navy will not be able to approach within 200 km of the coast without fear of attack because they will not be able to make a pre-emptive attack on an ostensibly neutral Lebanon or Syria. Once again, the racist Obama is outmaneuvered by the far-smarter Ahmadinejad.
4. 2006
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (02.26.11)
Well, you had a chance in 2006 to finish with these terrorists in Lebanon. But no, politicians had to listen to UN. And now a payback is behind the corner. What will you do?
5. What else do you expect from Russians?
Gideon Reader ,   USA   (02.26.11)
This is the functional equivalent of giving a pyromanic a liter of petrol and a box of matches. Russia again proves it's mysterious soul is not all that great a mystery. Just lust for cash, regardless of source. A nation whose moral concept is exactly the same as any bordello. No long range plannng here, just a sort of oversize street kiosk but with different items for sale.
6. FOOLISHNESS OF THE WEST ?
Orao. ,   Srbia.   (02.26.11)
RUSSIA MAY NOT SELL MILITARY ARMS TO - THIS COUNTRY AND THIS COUNTRY AND THIS COUNTRY ETC.ETC. ONLY WE IN THE WEST CAN SELL ARMS TO WHOMEVER WE CHOSE. IF THE WEST AND ISRAEL IS NOT DOING ANYTHING BUT SIT IDLE, AS HITHERETO, THEY SHOULD NOT EXPECT THAT THE REST OF THE WORLD WILL FALL DEAD TO THE GROUNG FOLLOWING SUIT. LIFE IS A CONSTANT FLOW, AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPEN WITH ISRAEL ENEMIES, WHEN ISRAEL SITS IDLE, THE COST TO DEAL WITH THE ENEMIE ARE MOUNTING BY THE DAY. STOP SPEAK A LOT OF SHIT AND ACT. Orao Srbia.

8. Any Bibles in Russia?
manicdrummer ,   Madison, WI, USA   (02.26.11)
Somebody better tell Putin about where Russia fits into prophecy. Ezekiel 38 and 39 provide all the details.
9. Russian Missiles to Syria
Gene Graczyk ,   Santa Rosa, CA USA   (02.26.11)
Israeli support for and direct involvement in the Georgian was of some years ago has not been forgotten in Moscow. Israeli attacks on Lebanon have also not been forgotten. Israeli failed foreign policy has consequences and this is apparently one of them.
10. #9
(02.26.11)
You condemn Israel for supporting the Georgians against Russian aggression? Thank you. And when did Israel attack Lebanon? You mean the time after Lebanon shot rockets at Israeli civilians? Or do you mean the time after Lebanon kidnapped Israeli soldiers? If you dare to reply, please explain why Obama is occupying Afghanistan and butchering its civilians.
11. Syria is a sovereign country
Leon ,   Ottawa, Canada   (02.26.11)
If Syria wants to buy missiles and they have the money, it is not up to Israel or the US to decide. If Syria chooses to supply Hezbollah with them, it is their choice and it will act as a deterrent to the Israeli or US navy. They should send them to Gaza so Hamas can defend themselves from the illegal Israeli blockade.
12. Is it really the Yakhont????
Consideriser ,   Melbourne Australia   (02.27.11)
Because these missiles are apparently deadly and very advanced. It follows from the line of Sunburn mssiles which the US tried to procure not sure if successful after seeing a test firing. Mach 2, 300kg range, 20ft cruise altitude, 900kg warhead, violent end maneuvours to detect radar, did I mention cruise altitude 20ft, that's low. I doubt Russia sold these weapons, wasn't Russia in a deal with Israel not sell advanced missiles in exchange for Israel's help in UAV and drone technology?
13. RUSSIA/SYRIA/MISSILES
LT COL HOWARD ,   WASHINGTON DC USA   (02.27.11)
How many remember Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and a reset button that the State Department could not translate correctly to the amusement of most Russians and the world. How many remember John Kerry and his recommendation that the US establish direct relations with Syria. How many noticed that the Iranians will be holding joint military exercises with Syria Russia never changes… The criminal element is in charge… The secret organs of the Soviet unknown dominant. Syria never changes. It's nuclear ambitions remain (or have not your readers noticed the latest satellite intelligence information) its chemical weapons development remains ,its missile development remains. Its support of Hezbollah remains. The US never changes: Hope dominates over experience and reality. And Israel is urged to “take even more risk for peace.” And that come from people who live in the safety of the United States.… Not under the shadow of missiles from Gaza, Lebanon, or with the constant threat from terrorists.
14. israel is furious
alexi   (02.27.11)
of course bibi and barak are furious with russia's proposed sale of dangerous missiles to alon ben meir's peaceful syria. What a bunch of dumb shmucks!! It was obvious that putin old soviet sells oil and guns regardless so ehud barak goes to moscow to sell sensitive drones and manufacturing procedures hoping to stop russia from selling dangeroius weapons to arabs. Russia willl always sells dangerous missiles to arabs and moslems until they get burned enough by their own moslems and untill they develop western based industries like a 21 st century country. Under putin it will not happen. israel should not sell sensitive arms to russia as they will turn them against israel. Israel should replace barak with yaalon, appoint galant special general for iran operations and modify plans to take out missile systems on the ground in a non olmert manner-going in alll the way with st ealth and power.
15. #11 Lebanon sould be sovereign country too
Ariel ,   Argentina   (02.27.11)
Ask the syrians to leave that country
16. #4 Israel tried it's best
Mamud ,   South Lebanon   (02.27.11)
and Israel learned that HB is permanent problem. I they had the chance for sure they would use it, but 33 days the longest war in Israeli history, didn't even harm HB. Now smart boys will start taking about the killed civilians, I know you good on this, but I'm talking about HB.
17. russian missile
howard banks ,   usa   (02.27.11)
dont underestimate the united states navy, the best navy in the world, ahmadinejad can look out his window and see the hornest nest, with the power to wipe him off the face of the earth in minutes, thisshould keep him awake at night..
18. missiles to syria
howard banks ,   usa   (02.27.11)
its just a thought, what if israel computer technology, could turn turn these missiles around to hit russia, that would be too bad.
19. Furious?? Are you joking??
Mark ,   USA   (02.27.11)
Correction to #1-Instead of being furious about missiles you know for sure will end up in Hezbollah's hands (as if being in Syria's hands isn't bad enough), how about taking out Hezbollah and putting a serious crimp in Iran's plans of expansion. We all know that sooner or later Israel will be forced to act-act now and pre-emptively, and take out Iran's surrogates before they take Israel out.
20. Falling regimes may cost Russia $10 billion in contracts?
Cameron ,   USA   (02.27.11)
Cossack blues LOL

22. To: No. 11
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.27.11)
Using your logic, then, Israel is a sovereign country and if it chooses to bomb the hell out of Syria, Gaza and Southern Lebanon, it is not anyone else's business.
23. Leon #10 in Canada
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (02.27.11)
The blockade isn't illegal. Just because it doesn't suit your fancy does not make it so. If it wasn't for the likes of Hamas there wouldn't need to be a blockade.
24. Israel Has Nukes ..... Quit Crying
World Citizen ,   the world   (02.27.11)
If I were in charge of Russia I'd not only sell the Syrians the anti-ship missles and MIGs but the S300 anti-aircraft defence systems as well. I want to see what a well defended country can do to the so-called unbeatable IAF. I've heard so much about this air force from the likes of Sarah and the rest of the armchair generals I want to see what they can do against a modern Russian designed defence system.
25. Will Israel cancel sale of drones to Russia? Doubtful.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (02.27.11)
Russia wants those advanced Israeli drones. It's not much as leverage goes, but if Russia intends to send cruise missiles and fighter jets to Israel's next-door neighbor, Israel should cancel that sale. Russia, of course, could sell samples of those same missiles and fighters to Israel so the latter can learn to neutralize them. But if they don't, I say block the drones.
26. Like I have said in '06 after whipping by Hezbollah
split ,   US   (02.27.11)
That's the end of impunity - You can shove your iron dome where the sun doesn't shine too ,...
27. DONT TRUST THE RUSSIANS
PS ,   USA   (02.27.11)
The middle east and western countries should not trust the russians. They have always backstabbed the west. When the Chinese cross the russian border and take siberia in the near future, then we can all have a good laugh.
28. it will give the israeli defence team something 2 chew on
Galut ,   Selah   (02.27.11)
unless they do these missles are a game changers
29. Right Leon, I like people with open mind like you. Israel
George ,   Canada   (02.27.11)
is furious for 72 missile ! inst a joke? in the mean time Israel has an open gate weaponry depot for any arms it need from USA.
30. do the russians really think that their enemies cannot be...
dante ,   uk   (02.27.11)
do the russians think that their enemies cannot be armed? if Israel becomes a target of russian missiles, why should any russian target be too remote from its enemies? there is no reason. self-preservation. something for foolish people to consider.
