1. this is true also for dealing with the PA
Jacob ,   Munich   (03.01.11)
Assume Israel agrees to borders of 1967 ,then comes e.g. HAMAS and claims these treaties were signed by traitors of the Palestinian cause. Let all of them have free elections and then we'll see
2. Say "NO" to P.A. "peace talks" too.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.01.11)
The author is 100% correct. It is lunatic and self destructive to enter talks in which Israel has nothing to gain and everything to lose. Israel already ceded the immensely valuable SInai to Egypt for worthless paper, as even late Egyptian President Sadat acknowledged. The last thing Israel should do is enter more phony "peace talks" with Syria or the P.A., designed to steal our land from us and render Israel defenseless. Say "NO" to talks with both Syria and the P.A.
3. Right on !!!!
HERTZEL ,   TVERIA   (03.01.11)
Could not have said it better mysef. Our leaders shoud read this. Our leaders should explain to the EU (peace lovers alike) that we in Israel live in a M.E. reality and not in a swiss reality, therefore, we do not choose living on LSD illusions, rather we choose to stare reality in the face, and not blink, for the sake of our children.
4. you have peace with syria
moron ,   galut   (03.01.11)
for over 30 years thanx to idf--why rock the boat? what has changed therein 2000 years plus?they call their kings presidents but still lie
5. !
Yuri ,   Russia   (03.01.11)
Say "Return the Golans back" to Israeli usurpers.
6. #1 & #2
Salma ,   Palestine   (03.01.11)
oh no "mshan allah" : ( we have nothing to lose ....Hezbollah free the land and the prisoners without the need for this farce, to the hell "peace process". For Syria, enough deception, the story of the Golan is well known.
7. To: No. 6
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.01.11)
The story of the Golan is indeed well known. To those of us who are not delusional. Care to enlighten us as to the ersatz "Palestinian" version of the "story of the Golan?" I like fiction. By the way -- "Hezbollah free the land and the prisoners ...." Sweetie, if Hezbollah gets stupid with Israel, Israel gets a new northern border -- the Litani. You do understand that I trust, don't you? And southern Lebanon gets turned into a wasteland. Remember what we did to you in 1967? Are you ready for Round II? Be careful what you wish for, Salma. You may just get it, in spades, and you won't much like it.
8. Israel's 3 NO's
Yossu ,   Canada   (03.01.11)
Israel should proclaim a rock solid policy of 3 no's with the arabs, just as they do: No to "palestine" (except on Facebook) No to more land withdrawals No to negotiations with any arabs until they stop their murderous nature. (i.e, never)
9. Syria and PA talks
Moragh   (03.01.11)
Give a big thumbs down to talks with these ragheads. I'm flabbergasted that Israel would even consider sitting together with those freaks. Say "NO DEAL" and close the idea.
10. revisions to the Israeli 3 no's
Nissim ,   NYC   (03.01.11)
No... negotiations with dictators - we prefer a peace with peoples, not leaders, as this is sustainable and provides a warm peace, not a cold peace. negotiations that refuse to recognize Israel's right to exist as State for Jews based on ancestral rights for over 3,000 years (read rejection that they think Israel and Zionism are an outgrowth of the Holocaust) agreements that infringe on any religions right to worship in holy sites in freedom and alter demographic make-up of the region amounting to ethnic/religious cleansing (read Hebron/Skhem or right of return) This should be the Israeli State policy (not Likud, not Kadima, not Atzmaut, not Shas - all!) This should be put on the table as conditions for negotiations - pay to play - sorry!
11. Syria and Iran are getting closer
Sue ,   Los Angeles   (03.02.11)
Now that Mubarak is gone, more Iranian ships will be coming through Suez. Their destination will be Syria, where a port is being built - for the Iranian Navy.
12. to 5, Yuri
hardy ,   czech   (03.01.11)
Yuri, and what Russia?? "comunist-superuzurpers" ???
13. @1,2,3,4,7,8,9
יעקב ,   תל אביב, ישראל   (03.01.11)
This is where Israeli Jews part from those of the galut. The Galut Jew says "just say no" the Israeli Jew says "find a way to make them think you're saying yes while really saying hell no". think about it, it's a hard world and you gotta be smart.
14. assad
howard ,   torquay devon .uk   (03.01.11)
i would not trust him, one iota a typical arab , slimey and crafty . yuk.
15. Halas, everyone...
Lobo ,   USA   (03.02.11)
There won't be any "peace talks" with Syria any time soon. And, when Liberman becomes the next PM, Syria won't be a problem for Israel. One dumb move by Assad, and Israelis will finally be able to have hummus in Damascus...
16. Good article, Yoaz Hendel.
Howard K   (03.02.11)
The very idea of giving away such a strategic spot is mind boggling. What are these politicians thinking? The only deterrent to war is strength.
17. An honest "NO" is far better than a pretend "YES".
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.02.11)
#13. You claim Israel is better off pretending to say "YES" to ceding our land but really saying "NO". How is it working for Israel so far? On the other hand, the P.A. always says "NO" to concessions. Nobody expects it to make any concessions or ever pressurse it to make any concessions. The P.A. is being far smarter than Israel in this respect. Israel is losing huge by pretending to accept retreats and the evil Two State Final Solution. For one thing, our countless millions of friends, especially in the U.S., can't support us in rejecting the abomination.. They can't be more pro-Israel than Israel. An honest "NO" is far better than a pretend "YES". This is one lesson Israel can learn from so-called "Palestinians".
18. Israeli Galut
David   (03.02.11)
Your comment is insightfully written, but sadly I think your characterization of "galut" Jews is fundamentally mistaken-- if it weren't, there would be less reasons to "try to make them think you're saying yes." At the end of the day, the same motivations and considerations apply to both strains of Jewry, for the most part-- both by in large have a difficult time standing for their dignity, and derive pleasure from ceasing to defend it.
19. To usurper #5: after you, lady
Greg ,   Boston, USA   (03.02.11)
First take some modern Russian history lessons; second, return back currently occupied Karelia, Kuril Islands, Eastern Prussia and other "usurped lands" to their rightful owners: Japan, Finland etc. Then we can talk :)
20. TO14
(03.02.11)
THAT OF QATAR IS NOT DLIMMY OR CRAFTY ..DO YOU TRUST HIM
21. #7 "Israel" gets a new northern border -- the Litani
Salma ,   Palestine   (03.02.11)
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha .... listen sanfora, If your predictions become reality, I promise you I will stop posting comments in Ynet ; (
22. we should send sarah.b to the front
ronen   (03.02.11)
she sounds like she can kick ass
23. No negotiations, until arabs change!!
Don Rosenberg ,   Palatine USA   (03.02.11)
Until the arabs accept Israel, nothing will be permanent. You can never, never trust the arab. Right now Israel has everything to lose and the arabs everything to gain. Stop the fake negotiations, tell the throwback arabs, either this or nothing !!!!!!!
