i want to say that i was a fan of bibi netanyahu since 2002 and even before that in 1999 when he was defeated against barak i was so angry for that although i wasnt good in politics , i ve been supporting bibi since 2002 i remember in 2006 elections when he was defeated in landslide victory for kadima i wasnt able to sleep that night and i was so so angry for that but after two years in his second term i can t support him anymore bibi cant lead the national camp anymore he can continue his term but before the next elections he must be replaced he must be replaced by someone else for example moshe yaalon but netanyahu by refusing to build even in the blocs what does it mean?? that means that the likud cannot support the blocs which existed in the israeli consensus all the parties from meretz to NU support building in the blocs kadima supports building in the blocs the likud is not it is a shame and now netanyahu is ready for an interim PA state which is more dangerous than the final status negotiations because israel may be forced to make concessions without ending the conflict and that happened during oslo lieberman supports that plan but also peres barak mofaz and belin all of them support the same plan netanyahu claims that the pressure is preventing him i know that mr hussein obama has betrayed israel in the last two years and has humilited israel and netanyahu himself but bibi weakness is the reason if bibi hadnt supported the two stage solution in bar ilan speech obama wouldnt have been tough like that if bibi hadnt frozen the settlements obama wouldnt have been like that and so on i believe that israel must ve a leader who defend its rights in judea and samaria according to the bible , history and the international law in 1923 it was approved that all the land between the sea and the river be the national home of the jewish people and that was approved by majority of more than 50 states and was according to the agreement between faisul of iraq and weizman of the WZO in jerusalem in 1922 and in also 1919 in paris god bless israel for its hospitility and for its warm welcome for the visitors shalom

The problem on the palestinian side is they still take this uncompromising revolutionary attitude. We must have all our demands met we are not willing to make concessions nothing more to say. Maybe its time for the post oslo generation to be given a chance they are more like politicians than revolutionries. Arafat, Abbas they who bunch of them are the same. Until they start thinking more like politicians who live in 2011 and not 1948 they will be unable to make progress. In Israel the problem is not Bibi its the coalition system. We have to many parties all trying to work together all making demands in exchange for support on certain issues. Coalitions are also unstable because when you need other parties to survive then you upset your single issue coalition partner then they quit the coalition and bring down the government. In its entire history I don't think there is a single government who has ever served a full term. Officially elections must be held every 4 years but governments on average last about 2 years. What Israel needs is 3 maximum 4 mainstream parties and no single issue ones. The government would be consituency based rather than based on a party list and the party that runs the most Knesset seats runs the country alone for a set amount of time. Sadly the system won't change because there is no desire for change. Religious parties, Yisrael Beitanu, National Union, arab parties, Meretz These guys know if the system changes they are history. The Likud, Labor, Kadima they don't want it because they know as long as there is coalition government most the time they can be sure of a role to play. Elect a single party to run the country for 4 years and all these parties know until they can win an election they will be opposition. The Israeli public in general have varied views on things and so their solution is just create a new party. Nobody wants less parties who will run the country alone but at the same time people complain when the system doesn't work properly. Whilst the arabs have no democracy Israel has to much of it so anybody can form a party and end up in the coalition We need less democracy which means more power to fewer parties which will keep small single issue parties out of government.

Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (03.04.11)
why should Netanjahu's...?? You see, no offer is acceptable as long as the Arabs also have to make a "concession": they need to accept Israel's RIGHT to be - not only the fact that it is - to exist as the nation-state of the Jewish people......

you misunderstood me i am speaking about the ideaology of netanyahu and his approach not about the political system in israel i am sorry to say that i am no longer supporting bibi but i hope that one day he will smell the coffee and stand firm i know that he is under tough pressure and that he is better than olmert and livni also he stood frim against obama in the past and managed to waste time but his zigzay policy to satisfy the right and obama is dangerous and his decisions not to build in the settlements also his potenial endorsement of interim PA state are very terrible in the current circumstances in the region israel must stop talking about land for peace and be realistic no to wasting time , no to decieving the international community israel must be clear and say the right thing thanks you so much and god bless you

FUTURE CONFLICTS   (03.04.11)
AN INTERIM ACCORD WITHOUT COMPENSATION FOR THE JEWS FOR THE ARAB REVOLTS FROM 1882 AND PARTICULARLY THE NAZI ERA AND MASSACRES IS IMPOSSIBLE . ISRAEL SHOULD HAVE THIRTY MILLION JEWS. Those arabs who want to live in peace with their jewish neighbours and have the capacity to do so can stay but the jews must conrtol security.

12. Easiest option: W. Bank as autonomous colonial possession -
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (03.04.11)
Like the US rules Guam, or like the UK rules British Virgin islands, or like France rules French Guyana, or like Denmark rules Greenland. Rope off the major settlement blocs, Jerusalem (give them Abu Dis, per the original plan), and the entire Jordan River Valley to a depth of 10 miles. They can rule and police themselves, but no foreign embassies (bar "ambassadors" from entering), and if they want access to border with Jordan or access to Israel's airports or harbors, it must be on a cost basis. Nobody leaves or enters without going through Israeli customs, andno commerce goes in or out except on condition of good neighborly behavior - they want to organize foreign boycotts? They can forget about having an economy. And Gaza? Israel must start collecting compensation for rocket and mortar damage and the cost of policinbg the Gazastan border by taxing everything that goes in and out, including energy and water from israel. Stop smuggling by seizing and annexing to israel a 3-mile wide strip of Gaza NE of Rafah from Israel to the sea, and fortify it - too wide to tunnel under. Egypt can administer both halfs of Rafah. The PLO does not even have to agree or cooperate - let them hold elections in their colony or go to hell, whatever they wish. Just take "independent state off the table for 30 years. What? The US, France, Brits, China, Spain, Denmark - all of whom have colonial possessions - are going to whine? OK for them but not Israel? The PLO has to come out of the equation for peace to have a chance, they have obstructed it for 16 years, since Oslo.
13. “Zionist forever” and Israel politics
LT COL HOWARD ,   WASHINGTON DC USA   (03.04.11)
The post by “Zionist forever” is excellent and I appreciate the writer taking time to prepare it. Unfortunately, the problem was, is and will be that:The glue that binds Arab societies is hatred of Jews. A Pew opinion survey of Arab attitudes towards Jews from June 2009 makes this clear. 95 percent of Egyptians, 97 percent of Jordanians and Palestinians and 98 percent of Lebanese expressed unfavorable opinions of Jews. Three-quarters of Turks, Pakistanis and Indonesians also expressed hostile views of Jews. Throughout the Arab and Muslim world, genocidal anti-Semitic propaganda is all-pervasive. And as Prof. Robert Wistrich has written, "The ubiquity of the hate and prejudice exemplified by this hard-core anti-Semitism undoubtedly exceeds the demonization of earlier historical periods — whether the Christian Middle Ages, the Spanish Inquisition, the Dreyfus Affair in France, or the Judeophobia of Tsarist Russia. The only comparable example would be that of Nazi Germany in which we can also speak of an'eliminationist anti-Semitism' of genocidal dimensions, which ultimately culminated in the Holocaust."

The arabs reject something before it is even proposed.
15. Resolution 242
Ralph Levy ,   USA   (03.04.11)
Eugene Rostow the author of Resolution 242 said in 1991 that this resolution did not require Israel to go back to the 67 borders. He also said that Israel had the right to build settlements. Anything done again to change Resolution 242 by the UN will be against International Law.
16. PA we failed by paying you for peace we didn't get
gravytrain will stop ,   you will be SOL   (03.04.11)
Hey they are going to hate you no matter what you do. Take the borders you need and say unless you want to fight again this is how it is. Want to fight again we will expand our defendable borders to move you who refuse peace farther away from us, that simple. Arabs have proven to America that they do not want peace. So why should we pay them for peace anymore. Starting with the PA, no peace no money. You have blown it big time spending all that cash and doing nothing to make peace. It wasn’t worth what we spent but hey now we know. Now Egypt, no Peace no more money and we will burn up every top notch weapon we gave you on top of that. That would take a few days maybe. Win Peace, show the world your already acquired defensible borders and say lets see how they work, Kick some ass on those who don’t want peace. The world economy is all messed up anyway, who can afford to pay for a peace they didn’t get, surly not us Americans.
17. Obama and Baraks Lies
Joe Cone ,   USA   (03.04.11)
Remember Israel was almost lied into a trap when she almost accepted the settlement extension. And Israel is going to give up everything again. More Lies?
18. Indeed, UN Security Council Resolution 242 does not even...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (03.04.11)
...mention the 1949 armistice (green) line, and certainly does not require of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to withdraw to them. On the contrary, the resolution explicitly calls upon Israel to withdraw its armed forces to "secure and recognized boundaries", to be agreed by the warring parties, presumably, through direct talks and without preconditions. Also, incidentally, UNSC Resolution 242 does not mention at all the need to set up an additional state in the region nor does it make use of phrases such as "Palestinians", "Palestine" or "Palestinian state". P.S. Note, 242 passed unanimously at the Security Council, has been accepted by all relevant parties to the Arab Israeli conflict and has served as the basis to all talks to date and to agreements already signed and implemented by the warring parties.
19. Bibi will find a way to finesse it. He always does.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (03.04.11)
20. Typical Pals they won't deal
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (03.04.11)
First, the Arabs have a divided leadership with neither really having the right to negotiate. So it's laughable to read Saeb Erekat state they have no partner in peace when the opposite is true. When the Arab leadership has been in a civil war since 2007. The last time Abbas said he would sit down, Hamas murdered 4 innocent civilians in a drive-by shooting. Then Hamas claimed credit for the killings, held a "victory parade" the next day for the "heroic acts", as they put it. That was followed by the Hamas announcement that they would NOT honor any agreements Fatah made AND the Palestinian people were NOT bound by agreements made. So what's this nonsense we're now reading from the lying Arab leadership. Let's be honest the two main sticking points are always going to be the same: 1) Will Israel let Jerusalem be divided, and 2) should the Arabs that are referred to falsely as "refugees" be allowed to come to Israel. The answer for both issues is NO. Arabs who left will go to their new state, end of issue. Jerusalem can't be divided again with an untrustworthy neighbor.
21. When Bibi addresses a joint session of
seadog1946 ,   Caven Point, NJ   (03.04.11)
the US Congress in May, will he bring a detailed map showing the interim Israeli/Palestinian holdings? Will he ask congress that that the US recognize Israel as the "Nation-State of the Jewish People with Jerusalem as it's eternal capitol"? Will he ask for more US tax dollars to assist in his current endeavor? Will AIPAC representatives be counting the number of anti-semitic US congress-critters that don't vigorously applaud after each and every sentence uttered by Bibi? Will Obama attend? Will anyone believe Bibi?
22. Jehudah # 6 Agree. They simply can't accept
Geulah ,   Bar-Giora, Israel   (03.04.11)
Israel's existence as a Jewish state, on any part of the land presently under Israel's rule, including Tel-Aviv, Haifa, Holon and Hadera. What I don't understand is why the US President doesn't realize it?
23. Annex is best. But autonomy IS acceptable.
Gideon Reader ,   USA   (03.04.11)
Seems to me what has been ofered to the folks who style themselves as "Palestinians", by Barak, Sharron, and Olmert should be offered to those JOOOS who "settle". I believe they might well accept the offers and autonomy may be the answer for the otherwise cowardly political echelon of Israel.
24. interim deal
alexi   (03.04.11)
shaath says that bibi wanted 40% of west bank, not one world of arab refugees until state of jews recognized and its security. And that is advancing israeli interests in negotiations. Contrast that with baraks' demand for 6.85 and olmert 6% with land exchange from israel making it 0% similarly endorsed by livni. You call asking for 0% a reasonable position for an israeli negotiatior. What a group of gutless morons supposed to represent the remnants of jewish dead? levi eshkol taught israelis that you ask for 4X as much as what you are willing to settle for and hold your ground. Barak, livni and olmert folded like cheap suits, succumbing to arab ranting. They are a stain on israeli national self respect which is dangerous.
25. Sorry but NO "palestine"...
Yossu ,   Canada   (03.04.11)
only on Facebook.... time to start looking at Jordan as "palestine"...Israel will never allow a terror vermin state within it... and some ppl are serious about preventig a "palestine" with their own life...mark my words... it..will...never...happen...
26. Lost or Missing: 1 Peace Process
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (03.04.11)
I agree with Abbas in so far as an Interim Agreement is not going to resolve much Two things need to happen 1. Practical incremental steps to improve bilateral trade, cultural, defence, health, water etc ties and especially an understanding on settlement building 2. So whilst positive things are seen to be happening on the ground that gives the parties time and space to work out a final status resolution As they say in the song..You cant have one without the other
27.  Why bother?
A ,   Belgium   (03.04.11)
The Israelis think of options, the arabs say no. Even little kids learn to say "yes" eventually, but not the arabs. There was a previous suggestion to look to Jordan as the future "palestinian" state. If they still got 3/4 of the British mandated (but non existant) palestine, would they still say no? YES!
