31. #26 Tal: "I", not "we". (END)
solomon ,   bklyn   (03.04.11)
32. Again: the problem is the religious side
Ex-Orthodox Jew ,   Israel   (03.04.11)
They want their children to grow up in a mental ghetto. That's why I'm no longer with them and their man-made religion.
33. Tal 26
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (03.04.11)
People like you already have their minds made up. It wouldn't matter what Israel does good or bad. What YOU think really doesn't matter because WE consider the scource. Anything you think is a waste of our time.
34. # 29- See who is wrong
lililili ,   ca   (03.04.11)
I will quote you : "saying that whoever is a gentile or a non observant Jew is a bad person." At what point was that ever said? Your interpretation of the hareidims instincts to shelter their children as an act of hatred against non-hareidim is laughable. It doesn't actually connect, no matter how passionately you feel about it. Perhaps its good to look back at history and note the myriad of Jewish practices that have faced persecution. This is yet another. You even go so far as to use the words "normal citizens", and then complain about discrimination. You don't seem to want diversity; you want the hareidim to be something other than what they are. Modernity does not entitle anyone to deny a religious person their right to live religiously.
35. to nr. 24.
universalist ,   the universe   (03.04.11)
you are quite right with your tackback. i have very much respect for your opinion. i admire your courage that you dare to admit that unfortunately jewish people also are not always right and good. iam not a jew myself, but i accept/ respect the jewish people, judaism, jewish civilization/culture/history (i donot agree with zionism) as i respect every people (country), the entire mankind/world/planet earth/the entire universe. you said: "we jews are our own worst enemies". every people has its good people and its bad apples and pears. i say one of the biggest threats/enemies (one of our own enemies) is criminality (the underworld), poverty, dictatorship, illiteracy, racism, xenophobia, jingoism, supremacy, hate-speech/hate-crime, hate/war-mongering etc. what happens in ( the zionist/rabbis entity of) "israel", also happens in the rest of the world/worldwide. i think you may best be proud of your people although nobody/no people is 100% perfect. every people/country/planet is part of a bigger entirety. we cannot lump an entire population/people/mankind altogether. i also try to be realistic/unbiased/fair/honest/objective to my own country/people and when there is unjustice i (will) mention it no matter who/what people have committed/commit it and i try to give a better alternative/solution. i wish you all the best and i am glad with your reaction. shalom/shalaam and maybe gis revisto.
36. To# 28-34
Ariel ,   Tel Aviv   (03.05.11)
First of all regarding discrimination about non Jews , let's quote Rabbi Dov Lior words(using non Jews sperm causes adverse traits, etc) and non point naming many others( supported unfortunately by most of the hareddim) that shows a degree of racism that is intolerable in the 21st Century. You use the word " to shelter their children(from whom? The kids of fellow Jews whose only sin is to work everyday?) You can not expect from the proud State of Israel to tolerate ghettos. The same State that thru allowances allows them to live without working to study and feed their families at the expense of our work. That's a FACT that we as a democratic country accept but.... There is a limit. The proud people of Israel can not bear the SHAME caused by their actions and statements. Sorry that I can not continue... I have to go to WORK to feed my family and pay my taxes as a normal( sorry if the word sounds discriminatory) citizen.
37. Reflect on the fence
Ypip ,   Canada   (03.05.11)
What do we do with the wailing wall? We send messages and wishes of good will for our neighbors so that one day the wall can become a garden.
38. #5 You are an idiot.
babawawa ,   new york, usa   (03.05.11)
So when pals are killing each other, is that why they're hated in the region. Norway is filled with weirdos.
39. #16 Mind your own business
babawawa ,   new york, usa   (03.05.11)
We Jews settle our issues among ourselves, we don't need your input. At least we don't throw each other off buildings like you people do.
40. #29 Substitute
babawawa ,   new york, usa   (03.05.11)
the words Africian, or Arab for Haredi and see how you sound. It's disgusting. You hate what I presume to be your own people for the same reasons you presume they hate you. Secular Jews alone will not provide the demographics needed for a continued Jewish presence on the land. So in fact, for all the money the haredi get from you, they are giving something bigger and more important back in return.
41. separate and equal?
Moses Kovach ,   Brooklyn, NY USA   (03.05.11)
The USA had a nistaken policy of Separate and equal based on raise, It did not work but led to civil strife and hatred and institutionilzed racism. Children should not be infected with the prejudicial myoptic attitudes that breed intolarence and forments stereotypical behaviour. How sad it is my family survived the ghetto and the camps in WWII and now this
42. more stupidity
yael ,   israel   (03.05.11)
if the parents educate their children properly they will learn to accept those who different and live in harmony regardless of differences in dress. That this stupidity should be funnded by public money is outrageous.
43. To#40. HATE
Ariel ,   Tel Aviv   (03.05.11)
First of all, let me tell you that the word "hate" does not exist in my vocabulary. To assume that they hate me? Why? I see no reason, after all I am one of their benefactors, right? I do not deny that they are necessary to preserve tradition, but... there are limits. Israel lives in a democratic society, as there are benefits, there are also OBLIGATIONS and one of them is to RESPECT those who do not think alike and to live in harmony. Mainly NONDISCRIMINATION. Please don't forget that a few months ago they made a separation between Ashkenazis and Sepharadis children in one of their schools....Luckily the Justice intervened as I hope they will now.
44. LOL Zionists can't stop building fences!
John Seymore ,   USA   (03.05.11)
45. #9 Yossu - Check your facts
Rozana ,   Haifa   (03.06.11)
Yossu, check your facts before you make such a statement. Jerusalem is mentioned as in suret israa'. And THE WORD israel is mentioned in the Qoran but not as a country or state but as "Children of israel" aka the israelites. Or in other words Children of Yacob. So before you write such bs, you should check your facts. By the way, Palestine is mentioned as Philistine and Canan in the bible, Philistine is Palestine in arabic and Canan is another name for Palestine in arabic (bilad canan). Many Palestinians of today are descended from the ancient Cananites among other historic people whereas the ashkenazi and sephardi jews descend from various russian and european people. I wouldnt be surprised to find out that there are more arabs than jews with israelite blood in them!! Israelis are not a ethnic people, you came from europe, the americas, africa, the arab world, russia etc less than 70 years ago to live in Pal. Israelis are like the population of a multi cultural suburb in europe, they are from all around the world but are currently living in the same place. The only jews who even knew hebrew when they came to Palestine were rabbis just like pakistani, turkish and other religious muslim men Learn arabic for the sake of their religon, it doesnt make them arab just like russian rabbis dont become israelites based on their hebrew skills!!
46. Intolerance, racism... war?
Babs ,   Bern, Switzerland   (03.10.11)
I am a Swiss, Buddhist (born from a christian and a atheist), my 3 kids are from 2 different fathers (1 from a indian hindu and 2 from a malaysian muslim). My life partner is a Ashkenasi Israeli. And do you know what: WE ARE ALL SO HAPPY and love each other. With age one becomes more wise and as history shows, war and racism lead to endless suffering. The basic causes (truth) of suffering are: illusion, attachment, greediness and hatred. I suggest something: do every day 3 good things to someone else without expecting anything....give love, time, understanding and be AWARE. Aware of what you think and do and what consequences in will have (Karma). Make your tiny contribution to a better world! Thank you and SHALOM!
