eddie ,   london UK   (03.08.11)
when Barak was PM, China had given a $200M deposit for Phalcon radar, manufactured by Israel, in what was to be a multi billion deal, and opening to massive defence collaboration with China. Barak, gave in to pressure from Clinton to cancel the deal. Clinton threatened to reduce US aid by the size of the deal, and also to pull out of Camp David "peace" talks with Arafat. As a result of Barak's stupidity, China sued for damages of $300M (which was greater than the amount Clinton threatened to cut off). The peace talks led to a war which cost over 1000 Israeli lives, and financially must have cost billions. And Israel lost crediblity with the Chinese, and lost out on $Billions of defence and other contracts. The relationship with China would have been much bigger than the Aid that Israel gets form America. So barak is a complete idiot, and destroyer of Israel's economy, land, people etc.

4. Oh yeah!
Selma ,   Palestine   (03.08.11)
If Israel was not occupying Palestine , we would also be doing now big business with the Chinese.
5. #4 you are delusional
carlos ,   San Diego U.S.A.   (03.08.11)
You and the other Arab countries can only destroy, hatemonger, make conspiracy theories but cannot build like Israel can. You don't have the capacity, you cannot govern yourselves.
6. 4 hahaha !!!!!!!The Chinese don't need falafal and hummus.

7. #1 I used to agree with you
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (03.08.11)
Thanks for reminding readers of another of Barak's innumerable failures. I used to agree with you that the reason for his failures is that he is stupid and a complete idiot, but it seems that there might be a more sinister reason for Barak's anti-Israel behavior. It turns out that Barak was a friend (and maybe client) of pervert and paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Hopefully Wikileaks will shed light on this issue.
8. Phalcon Technology Directly Based On US Technology...
World Citizen ,   the world   (03.08.11)
Given To Israel With An Agreement It Wouldn't Be Sold To US Enemies. And yet the Israeli government wanted to pull another "Jonathan Pollard" on the USA. They were going to sell this technology to China. And I am sure that if Israel gets the chance to sell more American trade or military secrets to China they will do it. It's a character flaw in your culture. But Israel is playing with fire. The only thing Israel has that China wants is American technology. Once the Chinese have it they will develop their own versions and sell it cheaper than you can make it to your enemies for the oil you don't have. In effect, they will have out conned the masters of con-artistry.
9. They will steal everything you know and take over your
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (03.08.11)
markets and for what, NOTHING. They use predatory valuation with their currency and destroy your local production. Keep their products out and only sell to them.
10. Oh wrongo, Salma!
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (03.08.11)
There isn't a single Arab country that is a "technology partner" to anybody. Why do you think the Arabs living here would be any different? Here it is International Womens Day and the Arabs (including the ones who call themselves "Palestinians") are still abusing women. You people are so busy hating us you don't have time to develop any technology. Too bad, huh? Maybe you should try a different approach that would make you a future technology partner?
11. China supports N Korea, Iran, Sudan, Venezuela
Steven Gilbert ,   Teaneck NJ   (03.08.11)
in other words, China support the worst dictatorships in the world. Why would Israel want to get bed with China?

zionist forever   (03.08.11)
I agree with you about the Phalcon screw up but I think in non defense matters like helping China develop its auto industry then its much harder for the US to justify trying to kill off the deal. I think when it comes to China Israel needs to start off with civilian projects the US cant object to and only later move into the defense field that way Israel can build a good relationship with China first and so if the US makes trouble it won't bring everything tumbling down like Phalcon did. Longer term Israel should branch out into defense with China because its potentially a huge market but short term make contacts and earn a reputation of reliability through civilian markets.
13. israel be careful
(03.08.11)
the chinese are known to steal tech secrets from countries like the usa and others and incorporate them into their own. many usa tech and military secrets were stolen by the chines over the years.
14. no military and high tech secrets to china
(03.08.11)
it will eventually end up in arab hands. chinese double deal. crooks!
15. #4 salma
(03.08.11)
like what kind of business??? i don't see the chines have much need for home made rockets and suicide belts, my friend. the chines respect brains, not terrorism. stick to tomatoes and olive oil. hameed aboughaze, iranian
16. #8- Phalcon technology was not
Stephen in New York   (03.08.11)
American. America pressured Israel to cancel the sale of Phalcon to China because the US didn't wish China to have this technology. BTW, being a World Citizen must be kinda like living on a higher plane.
17. Best be cautious with China and Israeli tech
Stephen in New York   (03.08.11)
Best to be cautious. Despite amicable relations over the centuries with Jews, China is not Israel’s friend and only seeks Israeli technology. Any technology Israel provides to China will sooner rather than later wind up in the hands of Iran.
18. Israel is the proverbial thief It own no land but
lydia ,   Bridsbane   (03.09.11)
claim Palestine, It own no technology but markets American technology as its own.
19. PALESTINIAN TRADE
JOE ,   USA   (03.09.11)
to salami; thelast time palestinians tried to trade ''merchadize'' with china, the chinese returned your palestinian ''merchandize'' because most of it hummos and TARATOUR,''tahini sauce'' was spoiled ,they even found in it smuggled tapes of FARFOOR .
20. China has more engineers than Israel has people,
spyguy68 ,   Seattle, USA   (03.09.11)
even if you count all the Arabs Israel doesn't like to talk about. Several of the posters are quite correct in that China will gladly use Israeli technology to improve their own and turn around and undercut Israel on the global market. China has used all the technology the West gave it to boot-strap their own engineering to the point now where they are the world leader in many technologies and they will do the same to Israel. Within a few years China will beat Israel at its own game. Of course if Israel doesn't sell the technology to China, the Chinese will just reverse engineer it, so Israel may as well get a little cash before China squashes Israel's businesses.
21. Iran and China =dirty money
LovesJustice ,   Canada   (03.10.11)
"The equation is clear – China will bring to the table investment funds and its humongous domestic market and Israel will contribute its knowledge and innovation." “The Chinese people regard Dr. Ahmadinejad as a symbol of fighting against oppression and that is why he is not only popular among the Iranian nation, but among all nations, particularly the Chinese people,” the ambassador (Mashaei) said. March 9, 2011 - Tehran Times Israel - Please re-think.
22. Partner
KB ,   US   (03.10.11)
They never have for once, had intellectual property of their own...they steal it! Tell the "Bottom Feeders" to get lost.
23. #21 Iran, China, Israel
Cynthia ,   USA   (03.10.11)
Mashaei is hardly objective. He's related to Ahmadinejad through marriage and hopes to be appointed the next President of Iran. The quote is typical of what you find in Tehran Times. China needs oil from Iran now but they're working with Israel on the electric car for the future. The business relationship with China and India is great for Israel.
24. iran
sarah ,   usa   (05.11.11)
Dont forget Iran, and who it was that sold them the nuclear technology in the first place. The first nuclear reactors in Iran and Pakistan were built under the Atoms for Peace program by American Machine and Foundry.
25. oil, gas
sarah ,   USA   (05.11.11)
no, but they do need oil and natural gas, both of which are found in Palestine, and which Israel has NONE of.
26. us
sarah ,   USA   (05.11.11)
the real reason US killed the deal is because China is making moves now to become the #1 superpower. It has already done so by buying oil from Iran in Yen instead of Dollars. Advanced american military technology would only expedite those plans. Israel has already sold american military tech to China, the problem was that the US cant afford to make them too powerful. Such a move would be detrimental to Israel as well since it it being supported by US dollars through loans with China, so Israel shouldve been smarter about their long term goals.
27. Barak Obama vs Israel
Janette ,   Missouri, USA   (05.15.11)
I am very disappointed in Obama as our president. Most Americans are, also. He is working to take away our freedoms. He is helping opposition forces gain ground in our country. He does not support what our country was founded on.
