It seems that this rabbis have learned nothing nothing about history. I guess if the area is returned they will be the first ones to cry for the IDF to protect them. To encourage violence against fellow Jews, regardless of what the IDF has done (everyone is held accountable at some point) this man has just shown sanity he is it's enemy. I am passionate about the need to maintain a Jewish presence in our ancient homeland, which includes Judea & Somaria. However, I am equally passionate about the need to work towards a unified Jewish nation. Only when we have such unity can we fully embark upon a road that will bring peace to our Arab neighbors, be it through military intervention or hopefully by friendly means. A nation at war with itself is not able to simultaneously offer peace elsewhere. Accordingly, those on the far left that are more focused on building a Palestinian state rather than realizing a unified Jewish one, defeat their own agenda in the process of spewing hatred towards the settlement movement. The same is true of the far right who fail to understand the underlying concerns of the 'sincere' left, who basically wish to create an environment of peace...who doesn't? This rabbi fails to mention the thousands of hayillim living in settlements themselves, that have taken an oath of loyalty to serve the IDF. Why fight them? Any protest should be aimed at the government, we have a process to do that, only it takes the art of persuasion to succeed. One needs to understand the rationale of those one speaks to, this rabbi obviously doesn't. The only outcome of such dangerous words can be similiar sentiments against settlers. Let me say it clear, this rabbi does not talk for the majority of settlers. I also hope that hatred filled leftists don't talk for the majority of genuine socialists, when they embrace the concept of civil war. The IDF & other security apparatus should not be used for political purposes, that goes for rabbis as well as the government!

What kind of insanity are we talking about. Violent resistance against our own solders? We can protest and elect different leaders. We can and should use the legal system to seek redress. But I sincerely believe that it would be disastrous to Am Israel to lift our hand against our brothers.

Two things are especially disgusting; 1. The twisting of the circumstances to the end that the Israeli government causes these confrontations. That smacks of the lies the arabs spout all the time; that Israel is the cause of all the problems. 2. The self-comparison of 'settlers' to the conditions of the Shoa and Jews against the Nazis. The arabs continually lie and compare Israel to the Nazis. 3. So don't complain when people start seeing you in the same terms as they do the arab countries that are trying to destroy Israel.

It is wrong to ask the IDF to be involved in uprooting settlers. They are soldiers not removals men. I remember watching the Gaza evacuation you could se soldiers crying as they were forcing people to leave their homes. At the same time make sure all the TV cameras go along for the world press to understand that removing settlements isn't as black and white as they seem to think.

No joke here! We see a constant stream of Jewish leaders (Rabbi's and others) misusing their trust, and damaging Israel, damaging Israeli's and damaging Judaism. This is just another example. What's needed? Effective leadership. These outlaw Rabbi's needto stop. Their agenda is selfish and destructive. This is where our elected officials need to intervene, and provide effective leadership. It will be unpopular with many, but this is the charge of leadership. Populist leaders are not what we need.

When they are masked and have no name-tags one can probably assume they are ganovim or Hamasniks and shoot them in self defense with live ammunition to send a message to those who send them to stop this abhorrent practice. A soldier must know that not every order is legal or moral. A soldier must know that an order to put on a mask and uniform with no name tags in itself shows they are being sent to violate human rights of their fellow citizens and as they are not identifiable as soldiers their fellow citizens may shoot them in self defense as common thieves in night. -- When a soldier goes rogue, or a division, or even the Defense Minister - the soldier no longer serves the Jewish nation and does not represent the IDF of Democratic Israel. Legal citizens have the right to take action and protect their own lives against criminals who put them in peril. Process that.

As someone who proudly lives in the largest Jewish Community in Yesha, I tell Rav Wolpe: Extremists like you give a good cause a bad name. Please, we don't need your help! When anyone claims (or thinks) that a Jew does NOT have a right to live on some part of the Land of Israel then that person is DENYING our G-d given rights, in essense is denying G-d Himself Who gave the People of Israel our Forefather this beautiful Land. Many of the comments before this do not put the blame for the Havat Gilad incident on the Minister of Defense who ordered these soldiers to shoot settlers; that was the order for beginning a civil war, that was the first shot -from Min.Def. Ehud Barak, and HE is who to blame for starting and escalating the attacks on Jews who just happen to live in certain areas and not in other areas, all within the Land of Israel. Rabbi Wolpe's response is a VALID response when "our" soldiers(indeed these soldiers are from ALL walks of life in Israel, including those living in the Judea/Shomron area) are given ILLEGAL ORDERS which are AGAINST a Jewish Code of Ethics - of inciting to murder Jewuish settlers (or any Jews for that matter). It is bad enough that Ehud Barak is attacking Jewish citizens - but even worse, the "legalization" of areas such as Havat Gilad are waiting for the FINAL level of "legalization" - a stamp of approval - WHICH IS IN THE HANDS OF Ehud Barak. So, Ehud Barak has a "Conflict of Interest" position: he is both the address for APPROVING new villages in Judea and the Shomron, and for DEMOLISHING them. Our State MUST DIVIDE these two opposing positions which are upon one person - Ehud Barak.

To forge relationships with big nations it does not help to incite civil war and violence among your own people. He should be imprisoned for HIGH TREASON.
