1. So much for freedom of speech
Rachel ,   US   (03.09.11)
2. They Will Not Tolerate It
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (03.09.11)
They have seen what happened in other countries, and it won't happen in Saudi Arabia. They've seen how the world responded to Libya, so at the first sign of trouble they will open fire. That will end it, plus it's the minority that's calling for the change. My prediction is this protest is going nowhere, fast. Watch and learn how the ruthless put down a revolution. Then please don't ever write anything against Israel again.
3. WHO'S HE KIDDING?
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (03.09.11)
""The kingdom does not interfere in the affairs of others and will not allow for anyone to interfere in its own affairs," Prince Saud al-Faisal said Wednesday" Then what's this Saudi Peace Plan the the Arab League and Saudi Arabia are so insistent upon? He should have said, ""The kingdom does not interfere in the affairs of others EXCEPT ISRAEL'S,,,,," THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
4. JEWISH SAUDI FAMILY
observer ,   Egypt   (03.09.11)
MORDAKHAI, a crypto-Jew, from BASRA-IRAQ, reached NAJD with the caravan. In NAJD, he started to promulgate a lot of propaganda for himself through his companions (his alleged cousins), a fact, which gathered around him a considerable number of new supporters; but, unexpectedly, he confronted a campaign of opposition to his views led by SHEIKH SALEH SALMAN ABDULLA AL TAMIMI, who was a Muslem religious preacher in AL-QASEEM. The radius of his preaching area included Najd, Yemen, and Hijaz, a fact which compelled the Jew (the Ancestor of the present SAUDI FAMILY to depart from AL QASEEM to AL IHSA, where he changed his name (MORDAKHAI) To MARKHAN BIN IBRAHIM MUSA. Then he changed the location of his residence and settled at a place called DIR'IYA near AL-QATEEF, where he started to spread among the inhabitants a fabricated story about the shield of our Prophet MOHAMMAD, that it was taken as a booty by an Arab Pagan in consequence of OHOD Battle between the Arab pagans and the Muslems. "That shield, he said, was sold by the Arab Pagan to a Jewish Clan called BANU QUNAIQA' who preserved it as a treasure! He gradually enhanced his position among the Bedouins through such stories which indicated how the Jewish clans in Arabia were so influential and deserved high esteem. He gained some personal importance among the Bedouins, and decided to settle permanently there, at DIR'IYA town, near AL QATEEF, which he decided to be his (Capital) on the Persian Gulf. He aspired to make it his spring board for establishing a Jewish Kingdom in Arabia.
5. "The kingdom does not involve in affairs of others..."
William ,   Israel   (03.09.11)
Have they forgotten about the billions of dollars spent to spread intolerant Wahhabism around the world, especially to the US, where they preach very anti-US tenets? How about the money spent on Lebanon to affect its future? Or sending money to buy property inside Israel for eventual breakaway from the State? Saudi fingerprints are everywhere, just like every other Arab oil-producing country. The real solution is no diplomacy nor war, it's to end use of oil globally and leave the Arabs to drink the poison themselves.
6. Where's their no-fly zone?
Joe buck ,   La-usa   (03.09.11)
They've banned all demonstrations and have no religious or human rights. like gadaffi and Mubarak you've got to tell those royals to get out and get a no-fly zone in place mrs Clinton. Oh, since 14 of the psychotic killers on 9-11 were from Saudi A (along with the spoiled bin laden freak), here's a finger you can cut off raised against your regime.
7. That's a vote getter isn't it?

8. #5 William THE ARABS ARE CONVERTING ME TO ENVIRONMENTALISM
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (03.09.11)
William makes a good point. It's only oil wealth that makes Saudi arrogance possible.Even as somebody who's really sceptical about the green agenda and the theories about global warming,I'm beginning to think that it would be a good thing for world peace if the west were to become independent of oil.It would deprive the tyrants of funds, weaponry and influence, all of which they misuse. The problem remains the technical practicalities. At the moment, the only feasible alternative is electricity generated by nuclear fission power stations.Governments have to come to terms with that and stop pandering to the anti-nuclear lobby. I think that,in the meanwhile,it would be a good thing if the major oil users were to set up an Organisation of Petroleum IMPORTING Countries to drive a harder bargain with OPEC. If they can have a sellers' cartel,we can have buyers' cartel. At a time when there is a glut of available oil,a bit of muscle by us would drive the oil price right down and do a lot of good. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
9. create a non existent national emergancy on
zionist forever   (03.09.11)
The royals may well be able to buy people off with promises of more spending & job creation etc. The minute though the police or military use any real force and its all over there will be a full scale uprising and I just hope the royals are not stupid enough to let the police or army use force in this situation. A good way of avoiding this day of range on 11th March is to create a non existent national emergency. In the centre of Riyad have a small bomb go off. Not enough to hurt anybody but blame it ion Al Quaida or somebody. The king can go on TV tell his people who glad he is nobody was hurt and how the people must come together in these hard times. The people will probably fall for it and if nothing else it will mean no day of rage and the king can then spend some money, announce certain areas of reform are being looked into ( don't specify ). Calm things down and get back to business as usual of running an oppressive state.
10. Finger ??? I always thought of heads.....
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (03.09.11)
11. Hot air.
Jules   (03.09.11)
The current Saudi regime is not under threat, because the king is moving fast with reforms; he has 95% approval rating. The problems outlined in the article are mostly created by Shia minority, which are likely to act according to foreign instructions.
12. Saudi Arabia
Raul ,   Rio de Janeiro, BR   (03.10.11)
In short, protests are banned but compliments are liberated. Who dare to doubt there is no freedom of speech in the Kingdom?
13. HAHA!!! I'd like to hear Ms. Clinton's reaction
IRAN#1   (03.10.11)
What does she think about this or maybe her boss is telling her to zip it :)
14. saudi-arabian protesters.
(03.10.11)
the saudi dynasty/regime/clique have already had enough chances since they have the power to start a national dialogue with the population/people. they donot want to listen so they have to accept the consequences. the saudi people have every right on a free and democratic society and country as has every people in their own land. not any people deserves to live under a dictatorship. dictatorship=barbarism=crime. long live a free and democratic world!
15. saudi arabia.
universe-citizen ,   the universe   (03.10.11)

Persian CAT   (03.10.11)
what a pity the saudi "king" does not have you as his rand vizier whispering plots into his saudized ears! By the way, what makes you think the people are going to "buy" the plots of the gang that call themselves "the royal family"?!
18. Saudi police open fire at AL-QATEEF protest
observer ,   Egypt   (03.11.11)
10 Mar 2011, Saudi police opened fire Thursday to disperse a protest in the section where minority Shiites live, leaving at least one man injured, as the government toughened its efforts to prevent a wave of unrest sweeping the Arab world from reaching the kingdom.
19. Where are the mouths now
Gaile McLean ,   Cairns - Australia   (03.11.11)
Obama, Hilary, Nicolas and David why are you so quite about this. You mouthed off about Egypt have stuck your nose into Libya big time when you should have kept them shut and it would have been sorted out by now. Yet you kept adding fuel to the fire. Bet you won;t do this to Saudi Arabia. Hope Gaddafi wins and remembers all the trouble you caused over a bunch of Radical Thugs who should be put in chains and made to work day and night to restore the damage they have caused.
20. JEWISH SAUDI FAMILY 2
observer ,   Egypt   (03.11.11)
In the History Book of the SAUDI FAMILY pages (98-101), their private family historian declares that the SAUDI DYNASTY considers all the people of NAJD blasphemous; so their blood must be shed, their properties confiscated, and their females be taken as concubines; no Muslim is authentic in his /her belief unless he/she belongs (affiliates) to the sect of MOHAMMAD BIN ABDUL WAHAB, (whose origins are also Jewish from TURKEY). One of Mordakhai's sons called Al-Maraqan, arabized from the Jewish root Mack-ren, begot a son called Mohammad, then another son called Saud, which is the name of the present day Saudi Dynasty.
