1. Nonsense
JJ ,   DC   (03.10.11)
Why should we help these people? They would never stick up for Jewish people in the face of anti-semitism. In fact, one of the largest producers of Anti-semitism is the Muslim community. These are people who almost unanimously support Hamas.
2. Rabbi Schneider
Mike Caton ,   USA   (03.10.11)
My judgement is that Rabbi Schneider is either outright insane/psychopathic, or that he is addicted to hallucinogenic drugs. One way or the other. he is willfully blind to reality.
3. Who should testify??
Aleyss ,   Paris   (03.10.11)
I hate to say this about a fellow Jew, but Marc Schneier - whoever he is - is a fool. He understands as much about Islam as he probably does about Judaism. Fools - even well meaning ones - can be highly dangerous. Americans can "testify on behalf of their Muslim brothers and sisters" when those brothers and sisters stand up and shout that they are thoroughly opposed to terror, hatred, murder. That they do NOT want sharia law. That they do NOT want to wipe Israel off the map. That t hey object heart and soul to all of the above. And that they are willing to fight and testify against Muslims who are engaged in these activities. I hope Americans are wise enough to understand and face reality. Europe has been very slow, but the true message of Islam is beginning to make itself felt and even Europe is waking up. I pray the Americans are wiser and quicker to comprehend.
4. Marc Schneier
Rod ,   Fargo N.Dakota   (03.10.11)
He's someone Google his name look in wiki,i don't think most Jews want him representing him
5. Schneier is an opportunist!
Maurice ,   Montreal   (03.10.11)
This guy wants to exploit the situation to buid an "honorabeble name" for himself. In the mean time he is harming the efforts made by the Congress to curb the radicalization of America’s Muslim community. By doing so he is harming his own country! Shame on him.
6. A long and boring article, loaded with emptiness
jo   (03.10.11)
Marc Schneiser, help our muslim brothers? You are a fool. Just another know it all type who knows little to nothing. Why don't you let the 1.4 billion beloved brothers solve their own overflowing problems, since you are uncapable solving even yours
7. Longwinded
NJ Shmuel ,   Passaic, NJ   (03.10.11)
Unfortunately Rabbi Marc is so caught up in his ideology that he does not see the forest because of the trees. Hey Rabbi read the Koran and perhaps read your bible too. You may even learn something about your own religion and the faith that Mohamed started... You might even learn to like real authentic Judaism then.
8. The investigation into U.S. Moslem terror is 100% justified.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.10.11)
Schneier is a Jew putting liberal piety above common sense, welfare of Jews and even self preservation. Americans have a very real concern about increasing terrorist attacks carried out by American Moslems. Several jihadisti inspired attacks on Americans have occurred recently. Many more are likely. Moreover, as the population of Radical Moslems grows in America, increasing attacks on Jews is practically guaranteed. Ask European Jews what kind of treatment they're getting from their "Moslem brothers". America is only a few years behind Europe in the growth of Radical Moslem terror. The investigation into potential Moslem terror in the U.S. is 100% justified.
9. Misfit rabbi
Michael ,   Moscow, USA   (03.10.11)
From Wikipedia: Rabbi Schneier has been married four times. In June 2010, he announced to his congregation that he has been suffering from bi-polar disorder and will seek a divorce from his fourth wife. Ken Sunshine, a spokesman for Schneier, confirmed that the rabbi has been dealing with "a very serious illness," while reaffirming his status as a "renowned worldwide leader, and a pioneer in Muslim-Jewish relations." The Rabbinical Council of America has decided to investigate Rabbi Schneier for breaching a code of ethics, and behavior that is unfitting for a rabbi.
10. VERY meaningful, like his marriages
Pia Ason ,   NY NY   (03.10.11)
11. Love thy neighbor?
Ed ,   USA   (03.10.11)
Schneier shows neither understanding nor concern for ordinary Muslims living in the US. They risk losing their children to terrorism. Reaching out to help is exposing the threat to Muslim youth from other Muslims. Sadly, this is a problem that the Muslim community in the US has not been able to handle themselves. We need to help them.
12. you are all the same
Deutronomy 28 ,   World   (03.10.11)
wether this guy is right or not about muslims in the US is not clear, but at least he is trying to reach out to all communities to isolate radicalism and how do you respond? you respond radically, and you wonder why there is radicalism, the ennemy is not islam, the enemy is radicalism, and you are part of it, all of you freaking out on one of your own trying to make peace or showing the way to reject radicalism but you dont want that, you have been raied on it and by it so you are just as bad as the radical muslims you hate so much ...good luck with that lol
13. Rabbi Marc Schneier
sylvia ,   Israe;   (03.10.11)
People like this rabbi must be living on another planet. Where doe these people come from?
14. I have no muslim "brothers"
BH ,   Iowa   (03.10.11)
15. "rabbi" Marc
Gabe1 ,   Thornhill Canad   (03.10.11)
Who is this Martian and what crater did he crawl out of?
16. Help Muslim "brothers?"
Benjamin ,   Asia   (03.11.11)
"O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness." Quran 9:123 "Therefore listen not to the Unbelievers, but strive against them with the utmost strenuousness..." Quran 25:52 "Killing Unbelievers is a small matter to us." Tabari 9:69 The US congressional hearings on Islamic radicalization will help Muslims understand that their religion leads them to violence.
17. They Stand Alone
Devorah   (03.11.11)
1. "Congressman King...has forced American Muslims to stand alone defending themselves." Nobody forced them into anything. They stand alone because they refuse to assimilate into any society they infest and expect that society to conform to their ways. 2. "American Muslims are as dedicated to the preservation and improvement of our homeland as are all Americans." WRONG! The U.S. still has not heard of their outrage on 9/11 nor any other terrorist attack since then. Marc Schneier, you are are running second only to Charlie Sheen for being the most out-of-touch person on the planet, and I don't understand why Ynet published this waste-of-space article.
18. Nice picture
Abu Mazal   (03.11.11)
Looks like a collective fart
19. Ain't that the friggin' truth, #14
Cameron ,   USA   (03.11.11)
Our ancestors trusted that crew no farther than the sharp edge of a sword, and for good reason as history shows time & again. I'll not give them what they refuse to give me.
20. Read and weep !! Really, really weep...
tom ,   tel aviv   (03.11.11)
21. To Aleyss#3. Brothers and Sisters.
Maansingh ,   The Netherlands   (03.11.11)
Quote :”Americans can "testify on behalf of their Muslim brothers and sisters" when those brothers and sisters stand up and shout that they are thoroughly opposed to terror, hatred, murder. And that they are willing to fight and testify against Muslims who are engaged in these activities.” I second this your statement wholeheartedly. I agree, the American Muslim brothers and sisters need to loudly and clearly proclaim that they are absolutely against the idea of wiping Israel off the map. UNLESS they do that, there is NO need to call them our “American Muslim brothers and sisters”.
22. Is "rabbi" the new word for mentally disturbed
jason white ,   afula, israel   (03.11.11)
people? They say crazier things each day. Those moslim brothers and sisters are they from the "rabbi's" maternal or paternal side? Why didn't Jews stand up for the nazis not to be tried after WWII? The nazis had their "rights" and the allies should not have disciminated against them.Right,"rabbi"? Since this "rabbi" hangs around with Simmons, I think the "rabbi" was rapped on the head too hard. Stand up for muslims and make the rest of the U.S. hate the Jews more.
23. Islamic Radicalism in the U.S.
RC ,   USA   (03.11.11)
The security of America is far more important than political correctness; I suggest the rabbi takes a look at this and then figure out where America is headed if measures are not taken to address the problem of Islamic radicalism now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgPbuEYVshA&feature=related
24. crazy !!!
kate ,   atlanta usa   (03.11.11)
This article should be published in every us newspaper. i will be fowarding it to everyone i know. tne US is so supportive toward israel and only concerned about the safety of the world. Pleasssse, muslim brothers! how sexist.
25. I suggest
Yossef   (03.11.11)
for all jews living in Israel and who cannot stand muslims to go back where they come from. I encourage the jews who do not live in Israel to never make alyah. And finally to my brothers jews staying in Israel to find a way to live peacefully with our arab (muslims or not) cousins. Some of them being able to become our brothers, if they mary our women. Racism is a plague, from everywhere toward everyone.
26. Tolerance...?
Marucho ,   Bs.As. Argentina   (03.11.11)
A rabbi SHOULD know that a democratic, civilized and sane society can not be tolerant with intolerants. If so, what about the principles of justice and coexistence?
27. To # 25 You spell your name,"yusuf".
jason white ,   afula, israel   (03.11.11)
And let the moslims leave our Jewish holyland and go back to the sandbox of saudi arabia.
28. help muslims brothers-oppose GOP
moron ,   galut   (03.11.11)
the hearings will drive terrorist and 'fellow travellers' further undergroung as happened 60 years ago when congrees hunted reds--we are still afflicted with leftist seditition in america and israel..do not help muslims per se--help everyone by keeping a clear head
29. "Rabbi" Schneier
Michael ,   Paramus, NJ   (03.11.11)
Marc is a public relations person more than a rabbi. His personal track record leaves little for any congregant to admire. For him to step up in defense of the Muslim community is typical of his headline seeking, self-aggrandizing personality. He is the same rabbi who is causing problems in the Hamptons. There are Muslims that have come out in defense of Jews/Israel; they just aren't Muslim anymore. Most of their support of Jews and Israel came to light after they converted to Christianity. I will not "stand up" for a culture of hate and death. I will stand up for Peter King and I will stand alongside those who wish to see Islam put to sleep forever. Mohammad was a rapist, thief, pedophile and murderer. He certainly was nothing to look up to.
30. A poor analogy from the rabbi
David ,   Dallas   (03.11.11)
Pederasts in both Boy Scout leadership and the Catholic Church hierarchy are a minority. Yet, when those things came to light, people demanded that those organizations rethink their approach and make it clear from an overall policy that the actions are not part of the groups. Yes, both private organizations and religions have been subjected to this coverage before. Claiming that Muslims should somehow be excepted is what the religious bigotry is. Somehow Muslims may not be questioned by non-Muslims. That is clearly part of Sharia Law. The fact is that Islam is the most violent religion today and we are seeing a strong growth in US grown Islamic terror. Yet go to any major American Muslim group's Web site (CAIR, etc) and you find no acceptance of those fact. Just denial, excuses and the claim that to discuss the real threat is somehow wrong. Enough
