sorry to disappoint but there has been a jewish majority in jerusalem since before 1840. (clearly recorded in a turkish census). More to the point, rulers of jerusalem can be listed, starting with the Jebusites and ending with the turks and then the brits. 'palestnians' dont feature on the list...

Jerusalem is already a center for culture and all that, but foreign attraction to Tel Aviv won't change. People go to Tel Aviv for a completely different reason than they go to Jerusalem. Just as people go to Las Vegas for a different reason than they go to Rome

Quite obviously the "New" Jerusalem is one more attempt to play down Jerusalem as the capitol of our Judaism and to Hellenize it as did Herod attempt to do.One has only to look on the faces of the religious shoppers at Makane Yehuda to see the shock of "New" Jerusalem when they see the pubs and immoral behaviour croppin up there. Jeruslem's religious communities all of them need to strengthen its Jewish character now and fast before it is lost!

Too bad you have no clue about Hope, but that depends on the God you serve and the corelating promises of that (G)god.
