As far as Haaretz, they have ceased being a real newspaper and instead have become a festering idiological scandal sheet. They do not care if Israel is damaged by their hateful writers.

That would put up with such obscene people such as Gideon Levy here in Israel and allow him an outlet for his ugly and, frankly, stupid verbiage, is beyond me.

The West Bank settlements are illegal and every country in the entire world says it and that world position has been consistent for over thirty years. When the Israeli government subsidizes housing, approves building permits , provides for defense w/11,000 IDF troops , builds schools,post offices,government buildings, a multi-billion dollar security fence and extends Knesset representation, does any rational human being believe that settlers are moving to the West Bank for any reason other than a government induced transfer? There are multiple rulings by Israel's own High Court of Justice which say Israel is an occupier. Ariel Sharon, when he was PM ,said Israel is an occupier. Now try reading the last line of article 49 of the 4th Geneva Convention. The International Court of Justice and 9 UNSC resolutions says Israel is violating it. Do you believe it is coincidental that none of the 162 countries which recognize the state of Israel maintains an embassy in Jerusalem? Do you believe your behavior has nothing to do with Israel being in public opinion surveys, the 4th most hated country in the world behind Iran, North Korea and Pakistan? Are you so blind you cannot see you are creating you own anti-Semitism. If you truly want peace then both sides must start by obeying international law. Neither party would trust the other side to comply with the terms of a peace treaty if it was incapable of respecting international law. A dope knows what you have been doing not only makes peace impossible but it projects an image of Israel as a rouge state that cannot obey the law. No one wants Israel to exist for the benefit of the Jewish people more than me but the Jewish religion lasted 3,000 because we created and respected the law. That is glue that binds us together, not Judea, Sumeria,or not picking up the telephone on Saturday.

It is very clear that this man may have been born to a Jewish mother, but he has an Egyptian soul, he is Erev Rav. Some Rabbis say that it is not possible to tell who is Erev Rav and who isn't, but I think that these days it's VERY possible to tell. Mr. Gideon gives himself away with every word out of his mouth. Levi is saying things that will resonate true well into the future. He is not trying to get some short term benefit, not trying to form a coalition, not pandering to any specific supporter. If Netanyahu were a journalist and Levi a PM Israel would deal responsibly with its problems instead of blaming and evading. Israelis who betray Israel are more likely to be honored than severely punished, as they deserve.
