1. focus on Iran, not on Israel, but.......
tiki ,   belgium   (03.17.11)
Focus on Israel is 'soooo much easier and 'soooo much more comfortable & fun (woman reporters don't have to wear nasty headscarfs and a great nightlife) and 'soooo much less dangerous (no surprise arrests for being a spy) Furthermore you can spit the Israeli's in the face and they'll say it's raining, maximum there will be some nasty 'talkbacks, so what do you mean....focus on Iran?
2. Canada not so clean
Eric ,   Montreal   (03.17.11)
The author shoud come to Quebec and witness the hate against israel (and Jews) among the Quebec politicians. I will never forget how during the last Lebanon war, Bloc Quebecois and Parti Quebecois politicians have demonstarted together with Hezbollah supporters carrying Hezbollah flags!
3. Israel
John ,   Boulder USA   (03.17.11)
But Israel is the apartheid state not Iran. IDF has killed more civilians in the middles east than any other organization in the middle east in the last 10 years.
4. #3, present your resources pls....
Ted ,   UK   (03.17.11)
It's very easy throw statements like this , where is your proof for that??? Do you know how many where killed in the last 2 years only in Irag from secterian violence? go and check your facts before showing your ignorance..

It's not an equation -- this many killed, therefore evilest. Cripes. Israel has been under attack for decades, at times more severely than at others, but always the neighborhood has failed to be welcoming. To sit and do an accounting, to say that because this many you have killed, you are the worst -- that hardly is a fair take on the entire picture. Was it in self-defense? Arguments can be made that it was, and therefore all killings in self-defense are legitimate. Was it in the course of war time actions? Again, for the most part, arguments to that effect hold sway, and the numbers are of no importance. I guess the real question is, what would you allow Israel to do in response to the provocations of her neighbors? When Hezbollah attacks and rains down missiles on the north, what would you allow Israel to do in response? Similarly, when Hamas refuses to disallow the shooting off of missiles BY THE THOUSANDS into southern Israel, what would you allow Israel to do in response? What would you do in response, if those were your neighbors, say, throwing rocks at your kids? Tell me. I want to hear.

Did you expect anything less from the congenitally Jew-hating French Canadians?

No, you are wrong. NATO is responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of civilians in Afghanistan, Iraq and Waziristan in the last five years alone. Take it back to a decade, and you're looking at civilian deaths numbering at least one hundred thousand. So I think you need to crawl back under your rock. Don't come out until you've learned the truth about the Middle East and the accurate numbers -- unless, of course, your penchant to be publicly embarrassed exceeds your humiliation. We'll be waiting for you, have no fear.
9. #2 That may be true, but at least stop funding anti-Is group
Mark   (03.17.11)
10. #3 John?? You forget how Jordan killed thousands
Mark   (03.17.11)
of Palestinians during the 1970 Black September massacre. Add to that the many thousands who have been tortured by all those tyrannical regimes. Add to that the many suicide bombings between Sunni and Shiite in Iraq and other places. Add to that the war between Iran and Iraq of some years ago, where many civilians were also wiped out. Add to that ... Oh, well, what difference does it make to you and your fanatical mind.
11. Trying to get Iran's so-called threat back in the news!
Edithann ,   USA   (03.17.11)
They can't seem to manage war on Iran...and it's frustrating them no end..hahahaha. Everyone is worried about the catastrophe in Japan and what that portends for the rest of Asia...and Jews only want to start another war with Iran... What's wrong with Israel...they can't stand anyone getting the worlds attention?? TATA
12. Gay Pride in Gaza

Good Luck with their Gay P{ride Parades in Tehran, Quom, Gaza and Ramallah!
13. #3 You've got to be kidding
Sarah ,   Israel   (03.17.11)
I don't know where you're getting your facts from, but I'm pretty sure that Gaddafi just killed more people in a matter of months than the amount of people that have died in anything even remotely connected to Israel in the last 10 years. Time to get your head out of the sand, open a book, and start embracing the fact that Israel is the only country in the middle east that supports democracy, allows true freedom of speech and free practice of religion, equality for women, etc. Israel and apartheid are words that have no business being found in the same sentence together. This rhetoric of de-legitimization fueled by ignorance is absurd and has got to stop.
14. Canada/Israel
Schmidlap ,   Toronto   (03.17.11)
Right now the government of Canada is on the right track, however, that can change in an instant and our government can become as hypocritical and cowardly as Obama's regime. We are expecting an election here in Canada, possibly within a few months, and if our present Conservative government loses, the whole table could turn vis a vis our relationship with Israel. Though this article mentions the Liberal leader Igantieff, he is still a relativist, "progressive" who will jump on the Israel hating wagon.

Really? Israel's sophisticated and ever-mutating Stuxnet worm has caused Iran's nuclear program to grind to a halt. The fuel rods have not been put back at Bushehr and Natanz is still offline. Liam O Murchu, one of the world's leading experts on computer security, has declared that Israel's Stuxnet worm has been -- and continues to be -- more successful than a military strike. We do things quietly and meaningfully, oh demented one. Start a "war" with Iran? Done, and done. Israel's already won that one; Iran's nuclear aspirations are dead and buried. TA TA. HA HA.

No Gay Pride parades in Teheran or Qum. Sadly, homosexuality is a capital offense in Iran. Of course, when Ahmedinejad spoke at Columbia University in New York, he stated unequivocally that there is no homosexuality or drug addiction in Iran, so one does wonder why they have been hanging so many homosexuals and drug addicts .... or what those who have been hanged are really guilty of --- protesting the rule of the mullahs, perhaps? They hanged 64 people in the month of January alone, and have resumed the ghoulish practice of amputating hands and feet. Disgusting, isn't it?

That's a new one. Still cannot handle the fact that we can kick your asses pretty much whenever we want, eh? Keep drinking the Kool Aid. It's working quite well -- for Israel, that is!

not really. not a few. there are many educated people who see the light, finally. but, you are too slow to follow. it may be that you belong to the unintelligent camp after all? according to your many talkbacks, i would think so.
23. #15. Stuxnet-Schmuxnet
Persian CAT   (03.18.11)
There is not a shred of evidence that Stuxnet was "Israel's". NO ONE has made such a stupid claim! I know the mouth foam causes delusional, and hysteric people like you to come up with all kinds of moronic claims. But that's all they can do. You need to wipe the foam off and take a shower, otherwise you schizo rants will get worse. Schmuck!
24. John - you are misguided
efman   (03.18.11)
"Israel is the apartheid state not Iran." - Do you even know what apartheid is? S. Africa was Apartheid, in Israel all Israeli Arabs have equal social rights, and even members of government are Arab with their own political parties. In Iran, there is no such thing as human rights. "IDF has killed more civilians in the middles east than any other organization in the middle east in the last 10 years. " -- LOL, you are blind. The USA has already killed over 100,000K people in Afghanistan and Iraq!!! That's more than Israel has "killed" in all its 60 years of existence. LEARN HISTORY before you let your ignorance and hatred kick in...
25. # 23
Thomas ,   US   (03.18.11)
If I were Iranian I would prefer to think that theory that the Stuxnet worm was a joint collabortation between America and Israel as usually suspected. The only other theory I've read is that it was developed by China, which means that country doesn't think much of Iran either. Do you have another theory as to which country doesn't think the Iranians are advanced enough as a people to handle nuclear technology responsibly and delivered the Stuxnet virus?

Rebecca ,   Toronto Canada   (03.18.11)
I would think that with what is happening in Japan, you would be thank full that the reactors are off line. After all, it wasn't that long ago when Iran suffered from serious earthquakes. I'm just saying.......
27. #3 Body count competition?
Raphael ,   Netanya   (03.19.11)
During black september 1970, the jordanian army killed some 10,000 Pals, the Lebanon war, including syrian invasion, claimed over 100,000 dead, the present libyan repression made more victims in 4 weeks than 25 years of intifada. Of course, the wrongdoers were Arabs, so this is permitted.
28. Rebecca, I agree...
Persian CAT   (03.19.11)
Iran does not possess the minimal capabilities to prevent nor control ANY nuclear disaster as the result of earthquakes in Iran. I am against the use of nuclear energy and I hope Iran's nuclear power plant never comes on line despite of the billions the Iranians have poured in Russia's pockets. Better safe than sorry. I advocate the decommissioning of existing nuclear power plants all over the world and a strict moratorium on building new ones. Israel's ancient and leaky Dimona must be the first to go.
29. FOCUS ON IRAN NOT ISRAEL
