1. Arms?
Eli ,   Yerushalayim   (03.20.11)
Hamas has no arms at all. They just buy food and medicine. It's Israel, it fires rockets and mortars from inside the strip into its own territory only in order to blame the peace loving Hamas.
2. They don't stand a chance! HA HA HA HA!!!
Israel   (03.20.11)
We have sophisticated weaponery and all they have are threats. MORONS!!!!
3. Hamas the Liars
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (03.20.11)
So Hamas has been constantly attacking Israel with no let up. Recently, in the last week Hamas has escalated the mortar fire into civilian areas (War Crimes). Now Hamas is complaining that the IDF is fighting back? Then have the gall to portray it as if Israel is at fault? Hams you drew down the fire, NOW, expect to reap what you sown. G-d protect (not really, just a figure of speech) you, because nobody else will. The IDF has shown the most remarkable restraint of any superior army in the history of mankind. Against an inferior force, those days are over. The International Community will NOT come to the aid of Hamas in Gaza. You wanted a war, be careful what you wish for, you may get your wish after all. It will be your worst nightmare, I for one think it's long overdue. Then all the bluster will be revealed for what it is, bragging to inflate the puny Arab ego. The IDF can level Gaza at will, anytime they choose, Hamas you are completely at the mercy of the IDF.
4. State of the art technology
Talula ,   Israel   (03.20.11)
We HAVE to invest in state of the art technology to protect our boys. I'm sure it doesn't come cheap - but it saved our boy's lives. Thank God!
5. Hamas and its lies.
A ,   Belgium   (03.20.11)
"Israel is taking advantage of the calm to incite against Hamas by accusing the organization of smuggling ammunition into the Gaza Strip using ships." What calm do they mean? Firing 49 mortars into Israel? Maybe they mean how "calmly" Barak sits and does hardly anything to defend...he IS defense minister, I think...his country. And if they claim the arms aboard the "Victoria" weren't intended for them, than for who...khadaffi? Maybe the boot was just heading for Gaza for pita and hummus, right? The Hamas lies are getting more and more ridculous
6. Ynet Stop calling Al-Bureij a refugee camp.
nero ,   nyc   (03.20.11)
"Al-Bureij refugee camp in Gaza" is a town not a camp. Stop using the terms of Palestinian propaganda. There are no refugee camps and stop promoting the idea.
7. It's simple
David ,   London, England   (03.20.11)
Stop firing rockets and mortars across the border and the attacks in response will stop. Couldn't be simpler.
8. Advice to Hamas: Kul Kalb Bij Yommo! Hide and pray!
(03.20.11)
Not that it will help you a lot. And you are right about one thing too: reaction will be SEVERE! Tell your coward leaders to return to their bunkers. Time to spend some time in your self-made jail!
9. this was on the market in 2006
zionist forever   (03.20.11)
Rafael who make this system were trying to sell it to the US for use in Iraq years ago because their own domestic system was still in the development stage. Traditionally there were two things you could be sure of in the budget and that would be more money for welfare thanks to Shas and the military budget being cut. Thanks to around a decade of drastic military cuts the IDF decided not to invest in tank protection systems to save money. The result was come Lebanon in 2006 many of the older Merkava 2 and a couple of Merkava 4s were destroyed and it cost the lives of tank crews. The government & IDF should be ashamed that they didn't buy something like Trophy years ago.
10. Stop calling them refugee camps
Andrew ,   USA   (03.20.11)
I'm with #6. Why should we call them refugee camps. They're towns. Why not just say there was fighting near Al_Bureij? There were refugees in 1948, but that was 63 years ago.
11. c'mon lets go
mohson   (03.20.11)
izzedine, haniyeh, lets go, heat it up, fire your antitank kornets, lets go. Olmert and haber are not calling the shots, both so weak as to make chamberlain appear strong. We want you to fire 1000 missiles go ahead. Izzzedine and haniyeh will pay and soon.
12. why would you market this system
Robert ,   farmington   (03.20.11)
the article states its marketed with the name trophy , why would you want to market such a system the only people its going to help is israel enemies , russia , china going to run test on it and try to figure out how to break the system....

zionist forever   (03.20.11)
Other countries are seeing the advantages of systems like this and are starting to develop their own so isn't it better to export the thing rather than let the US or others develop their own and then sell them. Trophy is the most mature system on the market right now and so before the big players like the US break into the export market isn't it better for Israel to get the jump and start making money. Weapon systems like this are expensive to develop so lets reclaim some of the cost and promote the Israeli defense industry in general.
14. Until the Rockets Stop
Ron ,   OC, US   (03.20.11)
The IAF should bomb every economic target available in Gaza until the rockets-tit for tat is not working.
15. Take back the Phidalephi strip, dig a 100 foot trench a
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (03.20.11)
kilometer wide and stop the smuggling. Invade gaza, remove the munitions and all the machinery used to make them, enjoy the peace.
16. TO #13
Robert   (03.20.11)
if there was other system close to it yes , but the current market there is nothing out there , so what you are going to do is sell the tech let other countries develope a system to use against the israeli tanks then the windbbreaker will not be worth a dollar bill.. if israel wants to sell something sell apples and honey not your military secrets..
17. Re # 9 and Karine A weapons
John Gilbert   (03.20.11)
You are right because they had a big chance to see from the Karine A ship in 2002 which is 4 years before the 2006 Lebanon war that Iran was supplying anti-tank rockets and missiles that were on this ship and Israel did nothing to protect their tanks later even though they had captured these weapons from the Karine A ship before. How stupid.
18. EXACTLY: Stop calling them refugee camps
Scott ,   Australia   (03.20.11)
After 60+ years - They are not "refugee camps".
19. "Refugee camp" = politicized term.
Gabriel ,   Jerusalem   (03.22.11)
As Nero fro NYC has said, they're not refugee camps. Want to see a real refugee camp? Do a Google search and view images of real refugee camps in Rwanda, Sudan, Haiti, and other places where there is real suffering going on. It is sickening and offensive that we apply the same term to Arab/Palestinian towns in order to prop up this artificial sense of victimhood, as if the time will come when they will get to actualize their "right of return". All the while living in permanent structures with water, electricity, wireless telecommunications, hospitals, schools, and every other service you can imagine. They're not refugees, they're Arabs living in their homes and cities.
