4. When you educate the children....
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (03.21.11)
As opposed to indoctrinate your children with hate and false history, this is the result. A group of kids who want to make the world a better place, and have a realistic view of how that might happen. Then you the Arabs, who are simply indoctrinated with a "culture of death" mentality. Who are taught pure hatred and false history. Who are taught to aspire to, (committing suicide while killing as many innocent people in the process), a form of child abuse and collective punishment. Imagine raising your child to grow up and kill yourself, and that G-d will reward that action, and send you to heaven with 72 virgins as the reward? Think about that, and let it sink in, try to remember the first time you heard that revelation. What was your thought about it? Personally I thought it was a joke! I couldn't imagine in my wildest dreams, that anybody would be stupid, ignorant or gullible enough to believe that would, or could be true!! That G-d would reward a unprovoked murder, of dozens if not hundreds (of innocent people who present no immediate threat to your life) at the time. That killing children at a pizza restaurant would be rewarded? Boy was I wrong! Add to that that some in the world actually make excuses for this perverted and deviant behavior was even more shocking. Now we see proof positive of two different cultures. In what they produce with their children, one has hope the other hate. The hate is self inflicted.
5. Mark from Georgia
Jarda ,   Czech republic   (03.21.11)
Lets start the education with the base facts. Who were owners of the land in Palestine in 1947 and why they are not now?
6. Owners in 1947
Ran ,   Winnipeg, Canada   (03.21.11)
The British, and before them the Turkish....and waaaaaay before all that, the Jews. There's your history lesson Jarda, enjoy.
7. To Mark from Georgia #5
MK ,   USA   (03.21.11)
I am not going to argue with you who were the ORIGINAL owners of the land. But lets start where you conveniently wanted to start: 1947. The reason they are not the "owners" now is because they believed the promises of their Arab big brothers and all went to war to kill the jews. But, alas, they were DEFEATED. This is why. Class dismissed.
8. 1947
MR ,   USA   (03.21.11)
Well actually many of the people living in that area were rich Arabs who had huge tracts on land on which poorer people lived and in exchange for housing, farmed that land. When the Jewish people came, they bought that land from the wealthy Arab landowners and decided to keep it and farm it themselves.
9. To: No. 5
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.21.11)
There were no "owners" in 1947. All of Palestine constituted non-sovereign territory. The United Nations offered partition; Israel accepted, the Arabs did not. That is why Israel today is a sovereign nation and the Arabs are not. To this day, Judea and Samaria remain non-sovereign, which is why Israel is free to settle -- and even to annex -- Judea and Samaria. That's the basic facts for the terminally stupid, such as yourself.

The object of your ire is not Mark from Georgia, but rather Jarda from the Czech Republic. Perhaps an apology to Mark is in order ....
11. #5, well around 70% of the land
Danny   (03.21.11)
was owned by the state and is still owned by the state. some 8% was owned by Jews and with the exception of places like say Kfar Darom is still owned privately by Jews. Most of the rest was owned by Arab absentee landlords. You had a point?
12. To Ran in Canada
Palestinian   (03.21.11)
No. The Palestinians are the owners and the indigeneous land owners. Regardless of your lies. Palestine was a name designated for a region. Jordan for a river, Lebanon for a mountain. But all a long, Palestine and the word Palestinian had a geographical meaning that basically means people coming from Palestine. The ancient Hebrews are therefore Palestinians from the regard. Israel was a name of a prophet. Most modern day Palestinians are descendents of the Palestinians, Judeans, Samaritans, Galilieans, Bedounins, Edomians, Nabateans, etc... that inhabited this region since the dawn of history. This is the fact. What you are describing however is a modern state of Palestine. There was one called British Madate of Palestine and in short Palestine.
13. Idealistic and nice, but then... why say
Israeli 2   (03.21.11)
this: "...there were some delegations that presented incredibly unrealistic scenarios like finding a cure for AIDS or the discovery of a new country and giving it its independence." How realistic is this?
14. Yeshiva students represent Iraq
John ,   Doe   (03.21.11)
A local New York yeshiva, North Shore Hebrew Academy, also attended the Model UN. The country they represented....Iraq! There was a picture in the local paper showing the students, with kipot (yamulkes) meeting with the Iraqi ambassador at the embassy.
15. To: No. 12
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.21.11)
You forgot to mention the rather important fact that when the Ottoman Turks or the British referred to "Palestinians," THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT THE JEWS! Arabs were always just called Arabs. Besides, Jews are indigenous to Palestine. The ersatz "Palestinians" are indigenous principally to the Hejaz in the Western Arabian desert. Face it -- you blew it in 1947; should have taken the deal instead of going to war. Of course, you have rejected a two-state solution twice since, including one which would have awarded you 90% of the West Bank and East Jerusalem as a capital. You chose to start the second intifada instead. That didn't go so well for you, but you people are congenitally unable to take advantage of an opportunity. By the way -- why don't you state the facts plainly? Admit that that the Jews in Palestine sided with the British during World War II and even fought in an especially-created Palestine Brigade (which was made up exclusively of Jews). Arabs such as yourself sided with the Germans, thanks to your criminal leader Haj Amin al-Husseini, grand mufti of Jerusalem. You cannot put toothpaste back into the tube, and the ersatz "Palestinians" are out of chances. Too bad for you.

Yasser Arafat called the Arab people living in Israel Palestinians. They were never called that before. Fact. The Creator of the Universe has set before the Nation of Israel to administer justice and mercy for ALL people. i don't know of any other nation where this can be accomplished; because it is His choice. Be at peace in it and see it happening hopefully in your generation.
18. to palestinian
mitch ,   chicago, USA   (03.21.11)
uh no. ur wrong sorry. the romans named it palestine after conquering Judea and trying to wipe out the name judea.. they also renamed jerusalem aelia capitolina in an attempt to do the same.. know ur history.. galileans, judeans were all jews. samritans were transplanted there by the babylonians and converted toa form a judaism. the edomites, and moabites were kinsman of jews altho often enemies. but the emires owned the region and arabs may have owned land within the empire but they had no control. only jews resored independence to the land from any empire including that of the arabs!

Salma ,   Palestine   (03.21.11)
education in "israel" is based on myths and not facts. Long live free speech! ha.
21. To Mitch and Sarah B.
Palestinian   (03.21.11)
First, the word Palestine, refers to a piece of Land that was known to be so way before the Romans of their invasion of Judea. Herodotus the father of History referred to it as Palestine in his famous book History of the Nations. Also, in the old testmant, the land was referred to as the Land of Philistines. In Fact, in Arabic, it is called Filistin and nothing else. The people living in the land of Filistin practiced many religions, and spoke Canaanite (a.k.a Hebrew) and Aramaic languages. Practiced Paganism, and then monotheism. The word Jew never appeared in the Old Testemant. The word Jew became associated with the people who practiced the religious that radiated out of Judea. It is simply put a Judean religion as much as Nazarenes (a.k.a Christians) are Christians. The religion of the Jews therefore derives its name from a Geographic place. Do not therefore assume everyone who practices Judaism to be necessarily from Judea. Got my point. Having said that though, it is becoming clear that in fact many Mizrahi and Ashkenazi Jews are the genetic cousin of Palestinians. In other words, there is no question that we have more in common than what either side wants to admit ;) Finally, I do not personally worship words like "Palestine" etc... But I just want to point out that we should be more open minded and start thinking rather than be biased to our self-propelled lies. You see what I mean?

Did you ever stop and think to your self why you can write talkbacks instead of taking the goats to the meadow right now??? ( or y u can drive a car or dont treated as a slave or feeling like any other women in any arab country... and yes i know that you know what i am talking about... dont you ...) and BTW to write " long live free speach " mean nothing els than say thank you Israel .... I really cant understand how you as a women taking the Muslims side and want to make your wold a worst place ( take a second to think of your life now and know that every thing you know will be gone if your dream come true!!! ) can i get an honest answer of why you r not moving to any arab country ??? and to say that the "education in "israel" is based on myths and not facts." from a Muslim is just to funny and dont worth any serious comment... Open your eyes and wake up peace

25. To All Those who responded to #4
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (03.21.11)
Not one of you made a salient point. All any of you did, was parrot the false Arab narrative of history. The tired and old poor little mistreated Arabs. That the mean old Jewish people took your land (which is false) so that apparently makes it OK to teach hatred. As already has been pointed out, the Arabs had the same opportunity to have a country as the Jewish people at the same time. Instead you elected to go to war, you lost, get over it. That doesn't mean you can teach your children proven lies, and teach hate. It has come back to bite you in the butt, you have another generation who will contribute nothing positive to humankind. While the Israeli's have produced another generation that will make the world a better place to live. Everything else is just your diversionary nonsense, more excuses for a useless generation of Arabs. So you can sit on the sidelines and watch Israel grow stronger while you grow weaker. How does it taste? Your only answer is to destroy Israel, look around, it will never happen.

I was making reference to the title of #5 "To Mark from Georgia" and not to the actual Mark who is from Georgia. Nevertheless, I will offer apologies to Mark when Mark feels I did him wrong.
27. To: No. 21
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.21.11)
Your fanciful account of history (flawed, by the way) does not explain away the Kingdom of Israel and the Kingdom of Judah. Since 72 A.D., "Palestine" has been non-sovereign territory. In 1947, the Jews accepted partition, and the modern State of Israel was established. The Arabs rejected partition, and chose war instead. You lost that one. And five more after that. Sorry -- the world has passed you by. Just settle for Jordan; it's your last best chance for a country all your very own, to destroy in any way you see fit.

Which world? The same which vote (except US) against settlement?

this world would be well and truly F***ED! Kol hakavod. Even though your 'friends' the US and the EU stab you in the back at every twist and turn they all know how invaluable you are to us all - Israel you truly are a world leader, you will go from strength to strength.
