4. Great but....
michael ,   tel aviv   (03.24.11)
Vast majority of electricity power in Israel is produced by coal and diesel. The intention is great but alternative source of production have to be installed in order for it to be really usefull for the environement.

8. not 90 years of gas
John ,   USA   (03.24.11)
More like 30 years, but more importantly, there is more than enough energy in sunlight and wave power in Israel forever! Shai Agassi, your work in electric cars is nearly done.. we all see your vision unfolding. Your next mission is to bring renewable energy to the masses. No reason why Israel can't lead the world in transport and energy.
9. Diffrence
ilan   (03.24.11)
This is the diffrence between israel and the rest of the world. We put our brains together and started to work on a society without fossl fuel. Remember that we have already reached peak oil. The world will be a scary one very soon.. This is one of the important thing israel has done. I dont people know how our soceities are addicted to oil. We will transision better than rest of the world. The future is in israel!
10. Renaults electric cars built in Turkey
ezer   (03.24.11)
Great news but why give Turkey the business? These cars should have been built here in Israel. I would like to hear a good reason why not Israel?

morty ,   IL   (03.25.11)
the reason i heard is as follows: they wanted [better place] to build the car building factory somewhere in/around beit shean. they requested that israel supply train tracks to [i believe] haifa port area. israel balked at the idea. they took the plan elsewhere. anyone around who heard any other stories, please confirm or reject this one.
12. Biggest scam: they're setting up a monopoly!
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (03.25.11)
You'd think that if you set up a wind turbine in your backyard, or set up your own solar alternative energy source you could use it to charge your Better Place car. Nope. Better Place wants not only to sell you their cars, but they want to make sure that you can't recharge your car anywhere else but with Better Place. That's called a monopoly. It should be illegal and there should be a HUGE public outcry. The other talkbackers have already mentioned that anybody who uses their car will be forced to buy energy only from Better Place, and they will be using Israel Electric Company electricity produced mostly today by coal and other fossil fuels. It's a scam. It's a monopoly. It should be illegal.
