This is all true. But it does not mean the Europeans will be acting in accord with it. They seem rather to be distancing themselves from Israel. There are reasons for this including the growing Muslim minority populations within their own countries. It is also important to remember that Israel is one state on one small territory. However balagan- like the rest of the Middle East is they still have far greater numbers and far much more oil than we do. We are truly the only stable democratic country in the Middle East, and in one sense the ideal ally for all democracies. But cowardly democracies are not our friend. Let us hope that the most important Democracy of all , the U.S. does however take to heart the main message of this article.
