It doesn't make our opinion better than anyone else. And I don't say that having arab close friends make me understand the politics of the middle-east better (even living J'lem most of the time). I just know better arabs than anyone who has no arab friends and has no the opportunity to live/share with them. It makes me know that arabs are like me, human beings. I feel close to them, I have empathy toward them. What I hope is them to have empathy toward us. I'll continue to tell them, friends or not, that they must understand that we Jews, have only one land, a tiny piece of land, and we are not ready to give it up. But to be firm on that doesn't mean to deny the rights of Arabs in Israel, and even in Judah-Shomron. Am I clear ? May be not, but may be because our situation is so confused.

Of course there is silence on Syria. If the US and UN took note of Syria killing its citizens, they would be expected to take action similar to the action in Libya. But, the UN is too busy passing resolutions condemning Israel, and the US is too busy criticizing Israeli apartment building in Jerusalem. It's apparently OK for some countries to kill their citizens, not OK for others.

The uprisings around the middle east may be started by those who want less control over their lives than they now have, but they are soon taken over by Islamic jahadists who will give them sharia law and , what they want most, the death of Israel.
