5. Spot on
Neil Turner ,   Watford, UK   (03.26.11)
Great article Israel definitely needs to get control of the PR war. As a Christian Zionist, Im amazed by your governments naievity In the UK we are bombarded by phrases like "occupation, Israeli aggression, settlements" Your spokesmen at every level need to change the dialogue. Be hard on the BBC / CNN / Sky etc. If they misreport or distort the truth, rebuke them, make their misreporting the story. Continual bias should be penalised by expulsion. You can't play a game where one side, Israel, observes the rules, but no-one else does New World - new rules
6. "until Palestinians choose a different vehicle ....
Daniela   (03.26.11)
Israel will be forced to combat their violence". Yes, exactly Israel replies to violence and crudelty and it is free to use as much force as possible. Criminal is whoever fights Israel and doesn't recognize its right to exist.
7. I have a suggestion Asaf
Smith ,   TA, Israel   (03.26.11)
Stop stirring up the pot from the comfort of Philly whilst us real Israelis have to bear the brunt of any violence. Butt out! You damn foreigner

11. Thank you Salma, occupation is Jewish love
Raed ,   Palestine   (03.26.11)
This Moran spent all his time defining intifada forgot to define occupation
12. Palestinians receive the justice they are divinely owed
Raed ,   Palestine   (03.26.11)
Funny he used the words "divinely owed" when speaking of pales Jews don't believe they are divinely owed the west bank, Gaza and the golan? Jewish Divine belief is why we r in this mess
13. True. So does Occupation. So do Settlements.
Michael Steiner ,   Bahrain   (03.26.11)
Intifada means war. But Israeli occupation of the West Bank (plus the checkpoints, patrols and everything that goes along with it) and Israeli settlements in the West Bank (and the settler violence and general behavior) ALSO mean war. b13Now, we can argue over whether the occupation is necessary because of the intifada or whether the intifada is necessary because of the occupation, etc. till we're blue in the face. But fact is: BOTH sides are engaging in actions that provoke or constitute war. At the moment, regrettably, Israel is more stubborn and aggressive than the West Bank Palestinians, and has been for a few years. Oh, and just as the Palestinians use intifada to provoke war and cry Victim!, so do we. We occupy them, abuse them on a daily basis with no end in sight and then, when one of them snaps and does something stupid, we cry: Look at these Jew-haters, they want us all dead! OMG, we have become exactly like them!!!
14. Sure... - like Germans in Occupied France!

15. #13, 14 Like Sunni Arab Saudi occupation of Bahrain
(03.26.11)
Are you protesting that the majority is oppressed by the minority there? Do you even care? Sunni Arab hypocrite!
16. What the "blast Gaza to smithereens" and
seadog1946 ,   Fell'sPoint, MD   (03.26.11)
"transport the Palestinians to Palestine=Jordan" crowd doesn't realize is the the existance of R2P... though I'm sure that bibi and ehud are well aware of it.
17. to number 7
Barney ,   USA   (03.26.11)
while true that a lot of Jews don't live in Israel but express their opinion about the situation, we don't just talk we also act with our money and our politics so the "damn foreigner" statement is kind of offensive. We feel for the Jews on the front lines for Israel and we support them in many ways
18. #2 Victimhood is the Palestinian way
Cynthia ,   USA   (03.26.11)
Fire kassams and bombs at Israel. Beg them to respond. Hide behind women and children and hope the response causes maximum damage. Then cry to the world about the big bad Israelis. Try that in the US and see how your neighbors respond.
19. Israel, the Middle East
ג'ון הנביא   (03.26.11)
Is ablaze. Do you really believe it will pass you by? The forces that will align against you will be enormous. It's time to start praying to the one who promised you the land. He needs to hear from you and now! The final word!
20. I would call it an ethnic war
Golan ,   Modiin   (03.26.11)
And Israel does not want an ethnic war because we want to live with the Muslims, Christian Arabs, Druze, and Charcasians. The "Palestinians" whether sitting in Jaffa, Ramalla, or Gaza however want an ethnic war and this is why one of their allies are the anarchist/communists: people who want to wipe out human identity and they start with the Jews. As Carl Marx said, "In order to free the Jews we must first free them from Judaism." This is why communist/anarchists Jews side with the Arabs. Because first they go after the Jews.
21. #2 your ignorance is deep and firm as your hate...
Ariel   (03.26.11)
Jews have been here for 3000 years without interruption and your arab friends masscred native jews in their first progrom-intifada in the city of Hebron in 1936, well before Israel existed. Your Mufti (palestinian arab religious leader) met Hitler to work together the final solution. Go on ignorant!
22. Intifada is the most accurate term
Leon ,   Ottawa, Canada   (03.26.11)
To call it a war is laughable. Israel invaded the Gaza Strip and the WB in 1967. Since 1967, the lives of Palestinians has been directly controlled by a foreign, occupying power: Israel. On top of that, Israel has been moving American and European colonists onto Palestinian land. The Palestinians are trying to "shake off" this form of colonization in the same way that Algerians did. Under international law they have a legitimate right to resist foreign occupation.
23. To: No. 16
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.26.11)
R2P? Can you explain, please?
24. To: Cynthia at No. 18
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.26.11)
Lost in the shuffle is the fact that U.S. and NATO bombing in Iraq, Afghanistan and Waziristan have taken the lives of tens of thousands of innocent civilians. And no one seems to notice, or care.
25. interesting and wise article
(03.27.11)
26. #4 Salma
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (03.27.11)
U r occupied because we don't trust you leaving next to us. You can call it occupation which is lazy loose term for not wanting peace. Or maybe you are upset about what we have done in 63 years vs your acheivments??? The land was not built when Jews took it back. Stop this jealousy towords us and you get to live in peace. But that's not what's in your hearts. You just can't stand the fact that we can do it better than you. It's shame. We get it.
27. Israel and Palestine
Luiz Felipe Haddad ,   Brazil   (03.27.11)
When Arab Palestinians recognize, in fact, Israel, by words and acts, they will have the right to ask her neighbor to recognize their State. Historically, the Jewish State was destroyed by Roman Empire, but her people, during Diaspora, has kept its identity. And several Jews remained in the old territory. There were, also, some Arabs, into the Holy Land, but without independence; submitted by Ottoman Turks. In 1947, UNO has voted for the partition. But Moslem Arabs did never accept it. They attacked and were defeated. Then, Israel, whose original people has survived from a terrible Holocaust, must struggle to defend her own existence and sovereignty. While Palestinians do not understand it, their desired country will never be a reality. With or without Intifadas.
28. justice
rami ,   us   (03.27.11)
"Palestinians receive the justice they are divinely owed..." Human rights are not divinely owed, they are basic rights any human should have.
29. Leon #22 LMAO you Limey colonists have no room to talk
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (03.27.11)
Okay so prior to June 1967 who exactly was in charge in Gaza and Judea and Samaria? Wasn't Egypt and Jordan 'foreign occupying powers'? If not why not? The Arabs have NO LEGAL claim to the land, never have. It is our land under international law and the Arabs are like you squatters that have stolen the land from their owners.
30. #2 Benaassi - Prove your claim !!
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (03.27.11)
It's quite easy to do, you can the a Pioneer, the first to do it Can you show me what the so-called "Palestinian's" are basing their claim on, they haven't be able to Have a go at it, come up with just a two or three answers in their behalf When was the country of Palestine founded and by whom? Where did the Palestinian people originate from? What were Palestine's borders? Who were its neighbors? What language did the Palestinians speak? What writing did they use? What manuscripts or records did they leave whether written or engraved? What was their religion? Where are their temples? What monuments attest to their existence? What was the name of their capital? Name its other major cities
