1. Hamas, although you fear the good slaps you deserve,
Shalom   (03.26.11)
you have nothing to worry about as long as the pusillanimous spineless coward DESTRUCTION MINISTER Ehud Barak is behind it. At worst, some empty fields and tunnels will be destroyed. So Hamas, you can sleep calmly. Israel has no intentions to retaliate now.
2. Shalom sit down & b silent!!

Stephen in New York   (03.26.11)
Ceasefire for "so long as convenient for Hamas." Eventually the bill will come. Let Hamas take the check.
4. Hamas statement
eskay ,   us   (03.26.11)
Reuters is quoted: "Militants committed to restore de-facto ceasefire 'as long as the occupation (Israel) is committed.'" Is the word, Israel, a Reuters insertion in the Hamas quote or was that in the spokesman's original? If the former, as I suspect, Reuters accepts the view that Israel continues to occupy Gaza. If Israeli spokespeople respond to this statement they are tacitly agreeing with the Reuters' interpretation.

a rocket/mortar from gaza or an extra-judicial assassination from Israel.
6. The Israeli leadership needs some tiger blood adonis dna

7. Hamas will not fire from Gaza
Ger ,   Raanana, Israel`   (03.26.11)
Yes, but Islamic Jihad and the other terrorists will continue to fire rockets and mortars, and, sadly, there is nothing that Hamas can do about that. Or so they would have us believe.
8. Appropriately,...
Gideon Reader ,   USA   (03.26.11)
...in a world where the Prime Minister of Israel was in possession of eggs, required for such a position; the correct response would be: "Obbyurs, Charlie", Vugyoo and the goat you romance after the dance." "Strong message to follow."
9. Well, what do you know? Afraid of Bibi and Barak...hahaha

now the Arab world in upheaval, we should act wisely by eliminating terror leaders, but not by invading Hamstan. am yisrael chai

13. Today's Oxymoron - A Hamas Ceasefire
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville, USA   (03.26.11)
These neanderthals are part of yesterday's Arabia and will quickly find themselves sidelined by the democratic revolution sweeping the region. There is no place in a modern civilized world for violent Islamic fundamentalism. If Israel doesn't neutralize them first, they will soon become redundant.
14. Forget The "Iron Dome" - Where's The "Iron Fist?"
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville, USA   (03.26.11)
There is no country in the world that would tolerate the relentless shelling of its citizens by a gang of terrorists. The time is fast approaching for Israel to remind Hamas/Jihad of that fact in a way they will never forget.
15. What came first
Ze'ev ,   Lod   (03.26.11)
The 1929 Hebron massacre or the creation of State of Israel?
16. Hamas: Israel is committed to cease fire
observer ,   Egypt   (03.26.11)
Radwan!, are you kidding us; Israel is obliged to accept cease fire. Israel cannot afford venturing itself to unpredicted response from the new administration in Egypt in case of another war on Gaza. Gates has already warned Israel.
17. It doesn't work that way
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.26.11)
First of all, although Israel has made it clear that Hamas will be held responsible for any mortar and rocket attacks coming from Gaza, the fact remains that there are a number of competing terrorist groups that call Gaza home, and over which Hamas has no control. Secondly, Israel will not mortgage its absolute sovereign right to retaliate against terror attacks. What Israel should probably do is serve notice that it is not really all that interested in "making nice" with Hamas, but rather in destroying Hamas. Ratcheting up the level of retaliation -- making it very costly to attack Israel -- is the best way to send the message. Why waste perfectly good ordnance bombing abandoned tunnels and empty fields? Hit Hamas, hit Hamas hard, and don't let up. Talk to them in the only language that terrorist scum understand. Escalate, and then escalate some more. Give them a breathing space, and tell them that Gilad Shalit must be repatriated. When they refuse (and they will), hit them some more. Hamas are bullies. Bullies are cowards. Hit them where they live.
18. Ah, last post should just be to No. 5
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.26.11)
Sorry. Second time today that has happened.
19. To: No. 16
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.26.11)
How many times does Israel have to kick Egypt's ass before you get the message that we can do it pretty much whenever we want? The new administration in Egypt is no different than the old administrations in Egypt. Understand this, though: when we take back Sinai -- and it is a question of when, not if -- it's going to be for good.
20.  Y-Net translators, be careful:
Joe ,   France   (03.26.11)
Jamal HASHEM usually spells "Jamal A'h'sh'um" in arabic & spells "a shame" in our civilized countries. Don' t get confused any more , plse!
21. First the IDF Owes some Payback
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (03.26.11)
Then maybe they can have a ceasefire, but be clear any rocket or mortar fire constitutes a violation of the ceasefire. None of this shell game crap, where one group says they're honoring a ceasefire while another group continues the attacks. For the purpose of this cease fire your all the same, if anybody attacks Israel your all guilty, no exceptions. But first Israel needs a couple of targeted assassinations of their main leaders, then say, OK. Hamas is just scared right now because they know the leaders are targets, and they want to come out of their rat-holes.
22. I have lost count
zionist forever   (03.26.11)
I have lost count of the amount of ceasefires Hamas have called for, usually when they are worried Israel will carry out a major offensive. How long will the ceasefire last for this time ? The Fogals murdered in their beds Murder of a woman in Jerusalem with a bomb. Grad rockets. If the Israeli government had any sense they would launch Cast Lead 2 this time don't let elections get in the way and smash Hamas put them out of action for a long time. It might even stop all these revolutions going on because the arabs are going to be ranting and raving about how bad Israel is not about their own lives. That will bring more stability to the region.
23. Barack Hussein Obama is happy
Steve   (03.26.11)
These are in actuality Israel's "peace partners." Hamas, Fatah, Muslim Brotherhood, Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, what is the difference? They all have it in for the Jews. This is the sort of evil Obama, Clinton, et al, think the Jews should live with and do business with in the region; with jihadists and mass-murderers. If Israel's enemies offer the Jews a Hudna (a temporary cease-fire), US President Hussein is thrilled. So are Hillary Clinton and truth be known, Republican Speaker John Boehner. Hillary Clinton, Barack Hussein Obama and other American leaders believe this is the path to peace.
24. Finally they woke up
Shalom ,   Ashdod, Israel   (03.26.11)
Now they realized that if Israel attacks them they will find no one in the whole Arab who is willing to give the backside of a rat for them. With the events in Egypt, Yemen, Jordan and let us not forget Syria (and hopefully soon Iran) they will be left alone to dangle freely in the breeze
25. Israel should agree to the ceasefire until
Barney ,   USA   (03.27.11)
they get a clean shot at the hamas leaders and then as "seadog" the dog says extrajudicial assasination or more appropriately-pest extermination.
26. Hamas says this, Hamas says that...
Boris Yasdnilkov ,   Fernandina Beach, US   (03.27.11)
Blah, blah, blah. Perhaps I am wrong but I doubt it; posturing politicians are now saying "...peace, peace, but there is no peace..." Conversely we are told: "...Thou shalt make no covenant (treaty/agreement) with them nor with their gods..." Doing so will never work. Wasting time with more talk and the tiring and deliberate process of deceitful "peace making" plays right into the Hamas' hands. Draw the bows, poise the slings and let fly.
27. CEASE FIRE
zichron   (03.27.11)
a SIXTY YEAR CEASE FIRE WITH GAZANS ALLOWED ENTRY TO EL ARISH THE OLD YAMIT IS ACCEPTABLE AS PART OF THE LAND SWAP . THE TIME HAS ARRIVED THE DEMOCRATIC MOVEMENT IN THE ARAB WORLD MUST ABSORB ARABS WHO ISH TO LEAVE THE JEWISH STATE,
28. Hamas wants the same ceasefire as they had before cast lead
Simon ,   Canada   (03.27.11)
Hamas wants a ceasefire where they can still fire rockets at Israel, like the ceasefire they had before Cast lead. Their lies have become easy to read after all these years of deception.
29. Hamas offering a ceasefire? So why did they start firing
Harry Wright ,   UK   (03.27.11)
in the first place?! Well, they don't have to offer anything. They can just cease firing on their own volition, the same way they started firing. Meanwhile, Israel should work out a fixed rate of exchange and exact the price.
30. Hudna
ben ,   usa   (03.27.11)
If they really want it they should return Shalit
