There have been similar incidents as this in the past, each time a resident of the region was accused. In the end it was proven that the victim was abused by his own and to save face accused the Jews. This will be proven in this case also. Unfortunately, when the truth will come out, it wont get put in the headlines.

18 month in prison seems to be a very light sentence for the crimes he has been sentenced for.

Fifty thousand shekels is a compensation for not killing this abusive settler and it is not enough. If someone did to me what he did to this boy, I would have killed him. So, the boy and his family are "martyrs" and should get much more money for their humanitarian behavior. Orit Struck should pay for her son because she failed to raise him correctly. Returning settlers' land to the Palestinian family is a desired compensation also, on top of the 50 thousand shekels. The severity of penalties for abuse by settlers should increase over time until they cease their crimes. They must be made to understand that settling in occupied territories is a huge mistake. Take as an example from what the U.S, government is paying the American Indian and will continue paying forever.

You all missed something here: the mother of the alleged beater is a human rights activist whose main success is bringing violent police to justice and proving that the Internal Investigation Unit is corrupt. The police have every motive to get her. I am not saying Struck is innocent or that the police faked evidence, just put on your thinking caps. As for people who complain about anti-Arab double standards: I'd be happy to hear of even one similar case where an Arab was punished more severely for such a crime. You won't find one. The only similar cases are when the ultraviolent YSM attack haredim or "settlers". Where was Ahmad Saadat ? the hundreds of prisoners in Jericho prison that Israel raided in 2006 or 2007 can't remember, and took all of them ? There are currrently 11,000 Palestinian political prisoners in Israel's jail. Very few Israeli settlers are jailed as Yesh Din notes. There are numerous cases of settlers killing Palestinians and they have gotten of scott free (a recent case in point was the killing of a 17 year old Palestinian boy in Beit Ummar near Bethlehem. The settler who murdered him has not even been charged). Israeli soliders killed two young Palestinian boys at Awarta and lied about it and then when the lies were found out, they got a slap on the wrist. It is Zionists like yourself who are the barriers to piece. The only bloodthirsty culture is theZionist culture. Bob, if roles were reversed, and a Palestinian had done this to an Israeli, he'd be glorified and have a square named after him by the PA. As you can tell from this story - an ISRAELI court convicted him of criminal doing and he was sentenced. What he did is horrendous, and you can see that Israel also condemns what he did. At least Israeli courts condemn what he did and convicted him. The PA would glorify and celebrate a Plestinian who did the same. Just last week, a Palestinian murdered an entire family (including an 11-year old, 3 year old and 3 month old) in their beds and the Palestinians handed out sweets and celebrated. I agree his sentence is too light. What he did was DISGUSTING. And the Israeli courts agree.
