if acts of kindness were more than acts of cruelty we wouldnt have seen 2 intifada's going on # 3 you need to accept the fact that acts of kindness in military occupation are extremely rare. ruling a civilian population with military means puts your solders humanity and morals at risk, that's a FACT of all military occupations, where the stronger party gets to play GOD and civilians become slaves.

Jennie - I do not jump to attack these soldiers. Don't twist the argument. The 'big picture' as you state is the notion of due process. The investigation of individuals when there is evidence suggesting inappropriate behaviour. The fact that they are soldiers should have nothing to do with it (Katzav being a fine example that position should not dictate immunity). Please re-read the headline. The big picture concerns how we behave. I would not generalise that none of the IDF would stoop to such lows as you do. That is wrong. There are bad apples in every bunch, the IDF included. Our task is to minimise the incorrect behaviour and to instil a strong set of ethical and moral codes within our sons and daughters. As a society we must lead by example.
