She deserves to be locked up for a long time not only as a punishment but to also send a message to anybody that dreams of following in her footsteps. Perfect example of new law - take away her Israeli citizenship - she was a traitor - naive or not. Let me put this another way - if a worker steals property from a company and said company finds out, this worker is fired. Anat Kam stole property from the Army; stole sensitive information and gave it to the media - hence a traitor. My guess is she has no ruler for right and wrong. Most of the comments on this thread reveal hate, ignorance and revenge. The young girl is grappling with mixed feelings about what she did. She's not sure why she did it. Can you imagine that she's just trying to be honest about her feelings? She is a human being caught up in very unusual circumstances. She will be severely punished, so there is no need for you spitting out your hate, ignorance and complete lack of understanding. If a loved person of yours, perhaps a child, did something like this, wouldn't you have a bit of compassion for them? And by the way, classified information is often leaked by the army to the press. So you may go ahead and vent out your hate on those unnamed army officials often quoted in most papers.

True the army leaks information to leak. Anat Kamm did not own that information she STOLE so it was not hers to give to the press. If I want to write a diary If I want I can give it away. If somebody I employ picks up my diary reads it and doesn't like something they read in it they have no right to steal my diary and give it to somebody else. She was not a naive victim she is an idealist and she was not so stupid that she didn't believe she was doing anything wrong.
