1. garbage. these are israeli lands. shame
ralph   (03.30.11)
on all leftists jews who support such distortions. stupid thinking.
2. And who marks the days the Jews were expelled from Jerusalem
EST ,   Miami USA   (03.30.11)
Jews were expelled form Jerusalem by Jordan, their houses confiscated, their asstes stolen....Jews were also expelled by the hundreds of thousands from Arab lands, their homes and assets stolen by Arabs in all Muslim/Arab countries in the Middle East. Since they want to talk about land expropriation...let's start with the original owners!!!!
3. TRUE
Jean ,   Paris   (03.30.11)
"For us, Land Day is sacred. I will always remember the invasion of our lands and the shahids (martyrs) who were killed trying to protect them. The worst thing is that the State of Israel doesn't respect its Arab citizens and takes every measure to humiliate and banish us from the country."
4. Ynet has it all wrong
Abed ,   Nazareth, Israel   (03.30.11)
Certain loudmouth leaders in Israel like Ahmed Tibi are humiliating the Arab community by constantly trying to divide us and seperate us into our own self inflicted ghettos in which we will be perpetual victims. The fact is that 80% of Arabs polled would rather live in Israel than in any other Middle East country. Arabs have to start identifying with the state and stop trying to be "Palestinians with Israeli ID cards." Palestinian nationalism is largely an invention of the 1960s and came to being long after Israel existed. We should be loyal citizens, not promote the foreign political agendas of Palestinian Arabs in Judea and Samaria. Pan Arab nationalism is garbage as well. Do we support Syrian goals? Lebanese goals? Why only focus on Palestinian national interests when we live in Israel? If they want to protest a democratic country for the treatment of it's Arab citizens, perhaps they should look to France, which bans traditional Islamic clothing from the public domain.
5. In Iraq and Lybia they Murder their own
David ,   Montpelier, USA   (03.30.11)
What a wonderful demonstration of why Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East. In Iraq and Lybia, muslim Arabs kill each other. In Israel, muslim Arabs make speechs. Now, can we make the BBC report this?
6. Simply dreadful!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.30.11)
1. It's called "eminent domain" and all sovereign states have the right to exercise it -- meaning they can expropriate land from whomever and wherever in the country they wish. 2. If the Arabs feel that "humiliated," why not leave the country?
7. 'Humiliating' it's arabs by giving them everything and mo...
Lee ,   Manchester UK   (03.30.11)
re that arab countries deny arabs. Where is the irony here, do they think we are all as dumbed down as they (arabs & self-hating jews) are. FFS - give me break! Israel must do something concrete to rid itself of both parties ... like sending them to Gaza. I am sure all Israel hating jews will do fine there.
8. PLO/PA Flag says it all....
Steve Gilbert ,   Teaneck   (03.30.11)
the demonstrators may live in Israel, but will never be loyal citizens. Are there legimate civil rights issues, yes. Imagine if the American civil rights movement march under the Russian flag. These people want to dismantle Israel. The question is: what should Israel, or for that matter, any democratic country, do with a sizable number of citizens who are subversive fiffth column who will work against the national interest?
9. Equality IS humiliating...
Steven Gilbert ,   Teaneck   (03.30.11)
since Muslims believe that kuffrs are inferior and only worthy of dhimmi status. Question: what do you do with citizens whose goal is not equality but superior with the final solution - death or servitude for all non-Muslims? This is a quesition Israel and all western democracies. Your survival is at stake.

13. Every Israeli Jew present at the rally should be expelled !!
tom ,   tel aviv   (03.30.11)
14. Its been Jewish land for 3,000+ years.
Doug ,   Wales   (03.30.11)
It is a historical misunderstanding of the Arab-Israeli wars to regard them as a dispute over conflicting desires for self-determination and land. Especially when one considers that the desire of the Jews to establish a state on less than 1% of "Arab lands" or just 10% of the "Palestine Mandate" should lead to some 60 years of bloodshed and war to eradicate that Jewish presence.   The Arab-Israeli wars were initiated as a result of the rejection by the Arab League of a UN partition plan to create Isareli and Arab states on 20% of the "Palestine Mandate", a territory which had been ruled by the Turkish Empire for the preceding 400 years. The remaining 80% of the "Palestine Mandate" having already been ceded for the creation of yet another new Arab state called Jordan (Transjordan), a state with a Palestinian Arab majority accompanied by a ban against any Jew from settling/residing on the land. Thus the exclusion of the Jews was an already established principle even prior to the creation of the Jewish state. An Arab principle which the PA leadership itself have declared is to be adopted within any future Palestinian state. The war launched by the Arabs in 1948 to destroy the state of Israel has continued without formal interruptation for more than half a century.   The re-taking of the "West Bank" by Israel is a result of three Arab wars of aggression. Indeed the "West Bank", historic Judea and Samaria, was used as an attack corridor by the Palestine Liberation Organisation which was created by Egypt's Nasser in 1964 when the territory was Arab occupied.   At the time of the PLO's creation the disputed territories of Gaza and the "West Bank" did not exist as independent entities, but had both been annexed by Jordan and Egypt in 1949 after the Arab war of aggression upon rejected the UN resolution surrounding partition. These Arab annexations elicited no protest whatsoever from the Arab world or the Palestinians themselves, until they were recovered by Israel. Then they became a goal from which to pursue the Arab goal to destroy Israel, using the Palestinian issue as a platform.   Indeed, the reason for the silence of the Arab world between 48 and 67 was that the goal of Arab nationalists - inlucing most Palestinians - was not the creation of individual nation states but of a United Arab Nation that would include what the Arabs saw as all the "artificial states" created by British and French imperialism. There was no protest at this Arab annexation of Gaza and the "West Bank", or any protest within the PLO Charter itself, which declared the Palestinians to be part of the "Arab nation" and any partition of the "Palestine Mandate" to be fraudulent and illegitimate. The Arabs occupy 99.5% of the Mid-East, the largest land mass of any ethnic group on the planet. Israel has less than 1% and this is too much for the Arabs - they want it all. When they talk of a 'just peace' they mean 'just Arabs' in the Mid-East.
15. THEIR PLANS FOR ISRAEL'S DESTRUCTION BACKFIRED
stude ham   (03.30.11)
if that marks their humiliation then these people fully well deserve that humiliation.
16. Core issue: Whose land is this? Israel must answer.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.30.11)
All M.K.s who participated in this abomination should be promptly fired from the Knesset and tried for treason. However, the core problem is that these treacherous M.K.s represent the feelings of most Israeli Arabs, who despise Israel. It is an issue that won't run away and that we must confront now. It is not a standard of living issue. It is not an equality issue. It all boils down to one simple question: Whose land is this? Israel must provide a resounding answer.
17. look at the picture !!!!
aline silverman ,   israel   (03.30.11)
These people really look deprived and humiliated !!!! Thank you Abed for saying the truth !!!! I hope that most Israeli Arabs think like you....and know that Arabs are equal citizens in this country. Of course some people are racist unfortunately. However racism is not only directed at Arabs....Israel is such a multi cultural, multi ethnic country, it is a miracle we manage !!!!On the whole we all live side by side PEACEFULLY !

david ,   uk/rsa   (03.30.11)
20. tibi doesn't know israeli history
Alexi   (03.30.11)
tibi believes his lying sheik uncritically. He spreads this disloyal communication to the arab masses firing them up and getting them to believe that jews are the foreign interlopers whereas the arabs are the real interlopers. Under the new law, tibi is disloyal, shoud be interrogated and citizenship removed. There may be 150,000 other arabs who need similar removal of citizenship, the sooner the better. After the advantages they get, their disloyalty is incredible. They want to cut throats. israel should send them packing.
21. Everyone has a right to
silkey ,   denmark   (03.30.11)
freedom of speech, religion, education and health care while respecting the governing body of one's country. I don't care if you're Jew or Arab- if you live within the boarders of Israel- you are entitled to the same freedoms...
22. BACK TO BASICS
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (03.30.11)
There is no mention in the Koran of either Palestine or Jerusalem, therefore any Arab claims are null & void Next point, Israel & Jerusalem are mentioned hundreds of times in Hebrew & Christian Bibles So what we now have are people making ruckus about what doesn't belong to them, and never did belong to them in the first place What we now have is an attempted Land hijacking in broad daylight
23. Get over it...........
Wise Saba ,   Israel   (03.30.11)
Israel is our land & you are squatting on it. Jordan is Palestine now get the h##l out of here & go home.
24. #3 FALSE
A ,   Belgium   (03.30.11)
"State of Israel doesn't respect its Arab citizens and takes every measure to humiliate and banish us from the country." Thats why arab members of the Israeli government are allowed to protest. They should be thrown out of the government but in a democracy like Israel, that doesnt happen. BTW, how did YOUR country treat the arab citizens of Morrocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Lebanon, Syria, and the citizens of Indochina (Vietnam, which your country snuck out of and left the Americans to fight a useless war for over 10 years)...African countries...Asian countries...dont pretend to be so righteous, chien!
25. Land Day
Douglas Fireman ,   Chicago, USA   (03.30.11)
The Arabs living in Israel are the best treated Arabs in the world. Sure they have some things to complain about, but so do other groups living in Israel. The Arabs talk about expropriation of land they never owned. They forget about how they expropriated thousands of Jews living throughout the Arab world. They forget about the wars which they started against Israel; and whine about the land which was lost as a result of their sneak attacks and attempt to destroy Israel. The present expropriators are Hamas and cohorts and the deceitful, Holocaust denying Abbas who was never truly interested in peace with the Israelis in the first place. These are the folks who prevented peace loving Palestinians from having a homeland. These are the folks who were/are more interested in their selfish goals and objectives-many of whom derailed any possibility of peace in the region. Personally, I would like to see a Palestinian state where people could live amicably with their neighbors. But that will be up to intelligent, visionaries on both sides, men and women who know how to effect positive change. Rockets, mortars, indiscriminate bombing and killing won't do it. Constant reprisals won't do it. Face to face negotiations without preconditions may improve every ones' situation. Hoping for the best.

29. Land Day
Mary Hughes ,   California USA   (03.30.11)
Beautiful! If Israel is to avoid destroying itself it will be because of people like these.
30. Had they waved Israeli flags during the protests...
William ,   Israel   (03.30.11)
instead of "Palestinian" ones, they would have gotten my attention. All this exercise shows is the exact reason why they aren't considered equal citizens. Equal citizens do NOT try to dissolve the State and alienate 80% of the population, while identifying with an enemy. Wonder how Germans protesting in the US, against the US, during WWII would have been dealt with.
