2. Keep up the good work
Shlomo ,   Jerusalem   (04.03.11)
After working in high schools for some time, I can tell you this is a MUCH needed service. Increasing pluralism in our schools is ALWAYS a good thing! Col HaCavod!
3. What could they possibly be proud of?
Baruch ,   Boston, USA   (04.03.11)
Why do they need to flaunt their unnatural behavior in parades with huge flags? I say we wouldn't bother them if they wouldn't bother us.
4. Boooo, Boooo
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim,   (04.03.11)
B"H - Nivi Naor: ".. no one ever bothered telling us that there were other options." - ABY: There are NO "other options", Nivi. What you are talking about are other abominations, that Jews must not practice. Your activities in Israeli schools of all places is an absolute scandal and should not be allowed in and should be criminally charged. Then, you wonder why religious families don't want to send their children in State schools: Boooo, Boooo

Ariyeh ,   Jerusalem   (04.03.11)
A wonderful expression of Israeli pluralism and democracy. Great to hear such an important program exists. Despite closed minded bigots a lot of progress is being made in Israel.
10. Keep it in the bedroom
Moshe ,   Jerusalem   (04.04.11)
As some one who is attracted to the same sex would like to turn the clock back 20 years and keep it all in bedroom where it belongs.

12. We were straight because no one told us...
Orly ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.04.11)
"We were all straight, simply because no one ever bothered telling us that there were other options." The author is so correct about the myopic lifestyle imposed on Israeli youth that it brings me to tears remembering my own youth. Growing up I had no idea I was addicted to heroine, because no one told us that taking drugs was an option. I remained isolated till my early thirties, not able to admit I had a drug addiction, until I first tried heroine. You cannot know until you've become aware that it's an option - an option deprived from many teenagers still today. It is not right to keep this a dark hidden secret when the young generation can be allowed to know and to find out for themselves whether this is who they really are and that there is nothing to be ashamed of.
13. 8 dave
gays4israel ,   toronto   (04.04.11)
although you might be ok with the issue, many are not. the struggle continues !
14. #1 that would be true of all human regardless of sexual id!
hetero granny ,   Jerusalem   (04.04.11)
Really dear, I promise you if a child is loved at home and feels happy safe and comfortable, regardless of that child's sexual orientation he/she will go on to lead a productive life. If the child is rejected then they will suffer emotionally. All I am saying is that gays are no different from any other human being! Each human being regardless of sexual orientation is unique and special!
15. #3 do I detect a strong strain of homophobia in you?
hetero granny ,   Jerusalem   (04.04.11)
G-d created all humans - the straight ones, the homosexual ones, the lesbian ones, the transsexual ones, the bisexual ones and the biggoted ones (like you) So since G-d created us all well then G-d bless us all - no exceptions! ;-)
16. hetero granny, "homophobia" sounds like an illness, but
Baruch ,   Boston, USA   (04.04.11)
it's really an opinion. calling us dumb insulting names and accusing us of being "bigoted" because we think that same-sex relationships are unnatural doesn't change the fact that they are. And G-d also created Adolph Hitler and Saddam Hussein (yimach shmam), and the list can go on, so that's a ridiculous argument.
17. Recruitment program
Ariel ,   Europe   (04.04.11)
They've gotten into schools already. I am afraid in a few years' time even the kindergartens won't be pervert-safe anymore.
18. Didn't realise being gay was an option its not a choice.

19. #16 boy oh boy oh so much hate in your heart I am sad 4 u!
hetero granny ,   Jerusalem   (04.04.11)
I trust that G-d will heal you!
20. Respect
Straight Ally ,   Ashdod   (04.04.11)
For a people who have overcome such persecution, it is terribly upsetting to see the talkbacks that advocate the continuation of persecution. Am Yisrael Chi- All of Am Yisrael LGBT individuals have the same right to live in peace with dignity. If you do not believe in Homosexuality do not enter a same sex relationship- but you have no right to degrade or create an unhealthy environment for these children to grow up in.
21. Look at bonobos
seth bullock ,   usa   (04.04.11)
We share a ton of DNA with bonobos-- a type of ape that, rather than fighting and killing, has all kinds of kinky sex.
22. When Israelis think "educating"kids like so is a "good deed"
(04.05.11)
we're in deep s#*t
23. BTW - HS no picnic 4 straights either
oferdesade ,   israel   (04.05.11)
especially if you dont know you're supposed to brag about fictitious conquests etc. wonder how many decide to experiment with homosexuality quite simply on the basis of social exclusion?
24. hetro granny
gays4israel ,   toronto   (04.05.11)
i will be thinking of all those who think of us as unnatural at this year gay pride. Its only a matter of time before we will be seen as equal. You go granny !
25. Good luck!
Adi Rishon Le Zion ,   Israel   (04.06.11)
26. #19, hetro granny, I don't "hate"
Baruch ,   Boston, USA   (04.05.11)
I however dislike people telling me that, e.g., black is white and then calling me insulting names if I don't accept it. Have you read "1984"? Same-sex relationships are in fact unnatural. You can choose to accept them or not. I'm perfectly happy if they hang around with each other. But here in Massachusetts, they've infiltrated the public schools, down to the elementary schools, with their nonsense. There is legislation pending which will require me to address a man as if he were a woman and let him into a ladies' bathroom, if he puts on a dress and says he feels like a woman. This kind of stuff is what bizarre novels and kinky magazines used to consist of and today are considered as if they are no big deal. This isn't the end of it. It's simply paganism returning and fighting it's age-old war with religion, common sense, and morality. Get over it. I don't need G-d to heal me. We need G-d to heal all the screwed up people around, and your attitude is not helping that to happen.
27. #20 Straight Ally
Orly ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.06.11)
I so agree that children should be shown unconditional love despite the tendencies and inclinations they develop. However, therse at their age these are impulses, not actions. Even parents who disagree with the actions their children would like to act upon should be loved, but the actiones do not have to be condoned. Some commenters believe that people of all sexual inclinations were created by God, even pedophiles, rapists, theives and murderers. While young adults developing certain urges should be given unconditional love there should be a line drawn between accepting their urges and accepting one's acting upon those urges. As a teenager I was also filled with raging hormones with driving desires towards many acts that are abhorant, or at the very least illegal. We are talking here about children who are under the age of consent and any sexual action on their part constitutes a crime (even if the criminal party is not legally liable). Children can be taught that their impulses are given to them by nature and there is nothing wrong with their desire alone, but should not at this age be instructed in any way to act upon them. I managed to endure adolescence until reaching the age of consent without committing any legal violation, and I disciplined myself, with the guidence of my educators and parents to control sexual urges that are not appropriate and to conduct myself in accordance with my the morals of my upbringing and the law. I fear others are pushed by more than their hormones to breach this discipline and I condemn any attitude to promote such encouragement. I am deeply disturbed by the idea that an adult would be advising adolescents under the age of consent regarding not only their urges but also the "legitimacy" of acting upon them while they are still minors. I can hardly see this as creating a healthy environment for these children to grow up in. But ultimately I applaud this program to openly address these issues in schools rather than having adults "assist" minors in discovering their sexual orientation in a secret club recognized by the government without the knowledge of the parents. That seems to be unequivocally an "unhealthy environment for these children to grow up in." I will sincerely welcome this program into the schools of my children who have not yet reached the age of consent and then by given the opportunity, through unconditional love and acceptance of my children's desires, to discuss with them my sentiments on acting on those desires when they reach the legal age to do so, by imparting my personal moral views on the matter and the expectation that whatever is acted upon it is done exclusively within the constraints of Israeli law.
28. Its True D-d created us all BUT
Moshe ,   Jerusalem   (04.06.11)
The Torah is a kind of rule book so if we are commanded not to lie with another man like you would with a woman we have to keep to the rules. But we need to know what that means. Its simple, a man can love another man but the moment he has sex with that man like he would do with a woman, meaning anal sex then he has over stepped the line. So by all means live together have oral sex together but keep to the guide lines
29. don't want to rain on your pride parade but
