31. #8 - the boy belonged to the same family with the bag
William ,   Israel   (04.03.11)
Surely the boy would have known what's in his own family's bag, no? I guess the real question is - if there was explosives inside, why carry them so close to children? That's a war crime, is it not? For sure, Hamas' action of grabbing school kids off the street to use as human shields is a war crime....and never made it in Goldstone's report despite the video posted all over the Internet.
32. to#11
Jennie ,   US/Israel   (04.03.11)
Thanks, abbas for a genious advise... For a while, we stopped breathing, but thanks to you we came to our senses...BTW, all we do for many decades is endlessly move towards peace, but you guys are just too eager trying to take our country away from us:piece by piece...And please be assured, that the G.Report, was only taken seriously by Palestinians, because it was against Israel. The world's perception and understanding of what is really happenning in the ME, is changing as we "speak" ...We do begin seeing already what will hang on who's neck.....
33.  Ben from Toronto's moral compass on the blink again
True North ,   On the Nose mevery T   (04.03.11)
Ben, you should really look into having your history drive rebuilt, you can't keep on going on blabbing about just half the story, can you now Benny Boy?
34. Kenny #1
Golani ,   Vineland, USA   (04.03.11)
Kenny, did you serve in the IDF? Do you know if the IDF is moral or not? I served and I know that it is, that is what the IDF is all about, morality. You on the other hand are just probably a poor excuse for what ever you are.
35. Someone like you will never accept the facts
Daniel ,   Colorado   (04.03.11)
So its not surprising to see your comment. The truth finally came out from this misguided judge and its always better later than never. Go eat your hat because a second Holocaust is not going to happen. Long live Israel and the Jewish People!!!
36. IDF = King David's Mighty Men
LJ ,   Fort Washington, MD   (04.03.11)
We knew all along, Isreal is totally justified in defending all of the middle east. One day soon, all nations will come and worship in Jerusalem. And every knee will bow to the God of Israel, the Lord most Holy. Hang in there IDF If God be for you who can be against you! Peace to All Israel forever We are in continual prayer for your PM and Leaders. Trust only in God to lead your nation.
37. My conclusions
Jerrold Cohen ,   Seal Beach, USA   (04.03.11)
Starting 2001, I started reading several Palestinian and Israeli online newspapers daily. When I didn't think I knew enough I started an online newsletter on the occupation, and that forced me to know my facts, quickly and thoroughly. My conclusions on the Goldstone report: It was not thorough enough but it had the right idea. My conclusions on the Israeli army: It is one of the lowest, dirtiest, most racist, bunch of trained hoodlums in the world. And every day when I read the news, the gruesome horror stories confirm my views. As for your leaders' "conclusions" that the Israeli army is moral: Dirty unprincipled lies designed to continue to fool those who don't know what's going on. The fact that nearly the entire US Congress sides with Israel doesn't make Israel any better. It is a pall of shame on the US Congress that it persists in being that blind about the multiplicity of inhuman horror stories I have read over the years.
38. from the time of Gaza being turned over to hamas..
Roy ,   Yakima   (04.03.11)
to cast lead ...thousands of qassam were fired into Israel by hamas...Israel during that period repeatedly asked that the qassam and mortor fire stop ...during THAT period israel did little to militarly respond....Few nations would have waited that long to put an end to rockets falling on thier civilian populations. both hamas and hezbullah practice using human shield techniques ,which is illegal,to gain maximin propagana news bites.... a fact that is resoundly ignored by those liberals that defend hamas.... they also ignore the use of mickeymouse cartoons to groom children in sucide bombing techniques.....
39. Goldstone retraction?
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (04.03.11)
Being an illegally existing state in the first place, Israel is in no moral, historical, or political position to dictate to the UN or other bodies what reports they must retract and reject, or what reports they must accept.
40. Tell The world! Tell Jew-hating one-sided 'Norway'
Robert Blum ,   New York USA   (04.03.11)
Is there no U.N. Human rights member interested in condemning Hamas & Fatah for the attacks (over 10,000 rockets) and murders of innocent civilians in Israel? Or do the violations of such codes only apply to Israel if Israel were to violate those codes?
41. # 16
Birdi ,   Israel   (04.03.11)
Dont expect an Indian to know anything possitive about Israel & the IDF. YES, we Israelis, know the IDF has the highest morals. Tough on the others who dont know. Goldstone was not threatened, he simply couldnt live with himself & the lies he wrote in his sham of a report. Maybe now he will be threatened !!
42. Idiots: the Pope "admitted" that Jews aren't responsible for
tom ,   tel aviv   (04.03.11)
Joshua's crucifiction& death (at least not ALL Jews): but any good, Polish/Spanish catholic "knows" better. Goldstone can retract x100 times: "they" know better..... these are the eternal rules of the game!
43. #20!! nobody who lives here cares about what you'll buy!
jenny ,   Israel/USA   (04.03.11)
44. #20 war crimes?
Tahl   (04.03.11)
You must be confusing Israel with NATO bombing dozens of Libyan civilians. As for Israel's actions in Gaza - well silly me, for some strange reason I find the testimony of an esteemed general, a veteran warfare expert, to be a bit more credible than some anonymous armchair general from Toronto. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NX6vyT8RzMo
45. #20 Ben
Eran ,   Singapore   (04.03.11)
You are full of it and you know it. Everything was great for your kind when Goldstone's Auto da fe of Israel was taking place. Now that the tables have turned, you hide behind a tree that even pigs dont piss on. Let it be known that Amnesty is a bunch of anti semite ignorants and pathological liers. It has been proven again and again. Wait until their donations are cut, and they will change their tune too.
46. It seems that Goldstone wants to come to Israel for Seder.
Eran ,   Singapore   (04.03.11)
47. No. 1 Kenny in India
Madeleine ,   Rehovot Israel   (04.03.11)
Show me an army that drops leaflets to the civilians warning them that the building is going to be attacked and giving thema chance to flee, in the hope that civilian casualties can be avoided. And we all know the terrorists' penchant for using women and children as human shields - we've seen this time and time again. And time and again the IDF has put its soldiers' lives on the line just to avoid civilian casualties. Every time the Palis have come out with lies against us (e.g. Jenin) they have been proven wrong. Truth does out in the end. But I guess you are just a committed Israel-hater and like all such people, never bother to check the facts.
48. No. 8 Human bomb detector
Madeleine ,   Rehovot Israel   (04.03.11)
The difference between the Palestinians and us is that we investigate every such charge an dif proven to be correct, disciplinary action, including imprisonment, is taken against the perpetrator/s. The Palestinians on the other hand, cheer at every israeli killed, celebrate in the streets and hand out sweets.
49. Not the only report
Dan ,   Chicago usa   (04.03.11)
Judge Goldstone's retraction is strongly supported by the independent McGowan Davis report. Amnesty and Betsalel are significantly controversial on Israel issues. Agree with them or not, fact is they take much international criticism and are most certaintly controversial. Much physical destruction in Gaza was from booby traps laid by hamas, tragically destroying entire neighborhoods of their own people, and explosions of Hamas rockets stored in civilian areas, which is indeed a war crime. According to Hamas's more recent statements in al hawat most Palestinian casualties were indeed military, not civilian. That's not an opinion just a few facts.
50. Abbas @ 11, I disagree. With his statement Goldstone
leo ,   usa   (04.03.11)
created reasonable doubt and practically nullified the value of his own report in any further disputes. Now Israel has an opportunity to dismiss it every time it is brought up regardless whether you or I believe in report or not.
51. "Sue Goldstone for Libel" - wrong approach.
leo ,   usa   (04.03.11)
Sue Report itself and subpoena Goldstone as a witness. That should do it.
52. #20 Well written
Shlomo Kamera   (04.03.11)
Well said Ben. You have encapsulated the truth as it is in your post. I have copied it, and will use it in the future, if you don't mind. Goldstone is NOT retracting his report, as some have said and written. It is still a testomy to what happened, by reliable witnesses. If Israel had complied, by co-operating with Goldstone, I am sure the report would have been even more comprehensive and accurate. The trouble with Israel is, when they kill an innocent, they try to justify it, instead of admitting a mistake, or they try to shift the blame to someone else, or if that fails, they simply deny it happened, such as in Jenan. I remember Mark Regev on TV, denying Israel was using white phosphorous, as simultaneously on another screen, it was seen raining down on the school yard in Gaza. This is how it works.....................
53. #52 the BBC make it sound like a retraction by Goldstone.
John ,   NZ   (04.03.11)
The following is taken from the BBC website. It sounds like a retraction to me -----> --In an opinion piece in the Washington Post on Friday, Mr Goldstone wrote that his conclusions about Israel appeared to have been wrong.-- He said the Israeli investigations, which were recognised by a UN committee, indicated that "civilians were not intentionally targeted as a matter of policy".---- "We know a lot more today about what happened in the Gaza war," he explained. "If I had known then what I know now, the Goldstone Report would have been a different document." ''
54. William #29
Shlomo Kamera   (04.03.11)
85%= ONLY 7 out of 9? More than 1,400 palestinians killed in Gaza. You are manipulating statistics, which is laughable.
55. Redemption
Harvey ,   London   (04.03.11)
The best thing is to go into gaza again and give Hamas another beating Goldstone can make amends by writing the truth this time instead of relying on pallywood productions
56. #3, #8, #20 #37 #54 war crimes
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (04.03.11)
Before criticizing Israel's self-defense against Hamas which calls for genocide, please comment on Obama's and Cameron's butchery of Muslim children in Afghanistan and Libya. Please explain why the killing is legal and why he is doing it. And #8: the neighbor procedure is a perfectly legal way to save innocent lives. What's your problem? Do you prefer SAS death-squads? #54: IDF collateral damage rate: 20-30%. UK/US collateral damage rate 50-80%.
57. Trouble is, Jerrold #37, you're a Jew
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (04.03.11)
who has turned his face against your own people hoping that somehow, in some way, by crititicizing Israel, the Gentile world will all of a sudden accept, if not love, you. Your socalled research has never gone beyond the superficial and is mired by the fact that you already drew your conclusions against the state of Israel before commencing your pitiful attempts at "research". You've never been here yet you feel compelled to write a book on "Jewish" terrorism. It's all in your fabulously demented website. And for those who don't know, Jerrold, the retired healthcare worker with too much time on his hands and no family, can be found on assorted Talkbacks such as Maan News always and obsessively condemning Israel. Now those are the facts, aren't they, Jerrold?
58. Yeah Ben #20: It's not as if Amnesty
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (04.03.11)
International isn't an objective entity, is it? It's not as if the preponderance of Amnesty's critiques haven't concerned Israel, is it, Ben? And it's not as if Amnesty hasn't taken on Hamas for its sorties of rockets and mortars into civilian areas of Israel, is it, Ben? And, of course, Amnesty has been a big factor in condemning Hamas for kidnapping Israeli soldier, Gilad Schalit, and not allowing him access to Adam Mogen David, family or legal representation, isn't that true, Ben? Your ignorance in these matters, Ben, is insufferable, quite frankly.
59. #38 graczek YOU'RE BORING
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (04.03.11)
Israel was established by the UNITED NATIONS, it's perfectly legal, you sir, are an idiot that refuses to admit the truth Israel can do what it feels it has to do, and you are too impotent to do anything about it
