31. Provocation
David ,   NYC   (04.03.11)
This was clearly a leftist provocation. They were getting in the faces of the soldiers who were attempting to do their jobs. And to no one's surprise the video cameras were ready to see what happened after these soldiers were pushed over the edge. These "protesters" all got what they deserved.
32. What ever procedes out of the mouth will be seen...
tulag ,   hales   (04.03.11)
those in the liberal press look for negitive things to hi-lite... so if it isn't there it won't be seen... those that serve in the IDF need to put guards on thier mouths as silence sends a better message than cursing. let the protesters be thier own best enemies....
33. What exactly does the police do?
babawawa ,   new york, usa   (04.03.11)
Why are soldiers, trained to engage in battle, sent to remove civilians? Does Israeli lack a police force?
34. fact of life that checkpoints make a
Barney ,   USA   (04.03.11)
difference in the security of Israelis. It is the job of the soldiers to provide security. The protester went down with barely a push-like a boxer taking a dive in a fixed fight. If they don't like it then they should leave. Israelis deserve security. These people who have too much time on their hands and like to cause trouble deserve whatever they get. The IDF- the best.
35. To 2: Is it better in Arab country?
smith   (04.03.11)
36. Beating? Degrading? Yeah, right.
Ron ,   Boston, USA   (04.03.11)
I watched that video and laughed out loud at these whining baby protesters. Come to Boston or New York and you'll see what happens when you don't listen to the cops. As if these paratrooper kids don't have anything better to do, either. When you're told to leave, you leave.
37. Seriously Isreal - its over
Sugar Daddy USA ,   Wisconsin   (04.03.11)
The USA is sick of fronting the cash for these ziofascists and their ridiculous war toys that make utter cowards feel though and manly. Grow some. And we're broke over here - so get ready, we're pulling the plug on your whining, pandering gig - 2012 Ron Paul Dues Ex Machina!!!
38. Hmm... new stuff for Goldstone's teeth to sink into..
tom ,   tel aviv   (04.03.11)
39. We need the Peace.
Ernest   (04.03.11)
Is it that important to have to be able to make it so obvious that it is an Israeli vehicle verse a Palestinian vehicle? Is it the color of the license plate? Beside that, there needs to be an understanding clearly communicated from political and religious leaders as to the conduct that should be had for each other and the individuals committing offenses need to be held accountable on either side. People listen to their leaders and there can be penalties for not listening to them. Taking care of "final status" issues would be a great start. Security issues are understood especially when handled by personnel in a responsible manner.
40. Is this the "most moral army in the world"?
vernon Marriott ,   Tel Aviv   (04.03.11)
Or is this unit simply composed of a scum-thugs in uniform, acting beyond orders. I presume that both the offending soldiers will be punished - and most of all the officers in charge (as they have ultimate responsibility for this nonsense).
41. I support the IDF!!
david ,   uk/rsa   (04.03.11)
42. Nobody got hit in clip
Erik ,   Sweden   (04.03.11)
The soldiers are pushing the protestors away, since they are ordered to breakup and clear the protest. In the clip nobody is hit...Did the journalist who write the article watch the clip??? One protester (short beard, blue shirt) appear to fall lightly once as he was pushed, the soldier helped him up. Another protester (black shirt and tan backpack) clearly fell (dives) on purpose in front of the cameras of the protesters filming... As far as one slur shouted by one of soldier in the heat of things, that is not uncommon. Far more insulting things are said by leftists and rightist protesters. Even in socialist and politically correct Sweden and UK regular police, in the midst of things, said far worse insulting things then that comment. The soldier who made that comment should receive a verbal reprimand from his commanding officer.
43. very well said #1! shame on Ynet! G-D bless the IDF!
jenny ,   Israel/USA   (04.03.11)
44. Video shows troops hitting, cursing leftists
Michael cohen ,   London UK   (04.03.11)
@ Juile "always looking for ways to make our soldiers look bad" No that soldiers did that himself ..Ynet just showed us all the evidence
45. Leftist Protest
Alfred Inselberg ,   Raanana, Israel   (04.03.11)
Not only the Haredim but also the leftist must have a lot of free time ...
46. The checkpoint is only there because of Arab violence
Dani ,   Tel Aviv   (04.03.11)
No Arab violence means no checkpoint. Arab violence means checkpoint. What is so hard to understand?
47. Not good if this is accurate
Rafi ,   US   (04.03.11)
48. And What Do The Gaza Rocket-Men Say?
Frankie Littlehammer ,   New Herstal, TX, USA   (04.03.11)
I bet the Gaza rocketeers do not express pity or pray for their innocent victims when they shoot their deadly projectiles into Israel. That's the difference: the soldiers and policemen handling protestors do not use lethal arms, rarely do real harm, while many of those protestors are violent, unlike the victims in Sderot.
49. You call that harsh?
M ,   USA   (04.03.11)
If I'd been that soldier I guarantee you I'd have done much worse to the leftist stooges than yell harsh words at them. One would be going home less of a man than when he came. Reagan had it right with the protestors at Beserkely.
50. Irresponsible/Reckless Title
EZ ,   US   (04.03.11)
It is titles like this one that incites violence/murder and emboldens terrorists. The video does NOT show anyone being "beaten" but rather the IDF responding forcefully to uncooperative THUGS who've gotten people murdered with their FALSE propaganda (in the words of "Israel Aparthied Week Founder"). This is nothing short of reckless exaggeration on behalf of YNet and its a real shame. Most of the time YNet is quite responsible, however, this article is way over the top and a 100% lie. In any given American City, if people behaved the way these protestors did, they'd had gotten their arises handed to them, arrested, incarcerated and branded with a permenant record...and rightfully so. If you have a permit to protest and keep it nonviolent, okay. If you have no permit, throw rocks at police or soldiers and are non-cooperative (not to mention supporting terrorists who have a HISTORY of murder and violence) and you RESIST attempts by authorities to disperse you (for which they have a damn good reason)...well, you can expect ANY kind of force to be used to get you back into order. These leftists have more blood on their hands than anyone and the responsible among us aren't taking their BS anymore. Good for the IDF: they've done a great job: I don't see how mist of those "protestors" didn't get a REAL whooping!
51. No problems here
Zionwarrior ,   Jerusalem   (04.03.11)
No one gets hit - just encouraged to move along. The police are doing their job. The protestors are doing what they perceive to be theirs - it's why they go out in the first place; what they want. And Ynet? It's doing what it does best - complaining.
52. This time I agree with the IDF
Salma ,   Palestine   (04.03.11)
These leftists are just causing trouble.
53. Yeah, I don't see the problem here
that Phepps dude ,   Netanya   (04.03.11)
You call it "beating" but the known English word for it is "shoving." Nor do you know what the leftist jerks are saying to the soldiers. Now, every time our soldiers have to do some real tough work under the hot sun, being verbally abused by all sorts of miscreants, let's film them as if it's some kind of scandal. Keep it up and instead of being soldiers, the decent youth in our society will join the Tel Aviv dropouts in the cafes. Israel will no longer be able to defend itself and the left, including ynet, will at last be happy. They'll use their foreign visas and money and scoot on out of here while the Arabs invade, and then there will be REAL violence against the patriotic Israelis still here. The lefties will observe on foreign TV screens and say, "But these Israelis are being brutal." DO NOT VOTE FOR ANY PARTY LEFT OF LIKUD.
54. the only problem I see here
Yehuda ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.03.11)
is the ynet reporting and distortion of the facts of which the video plainly shows.
55. Lihi Yafe
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (04.03.11)
Lihi Yafe said "The soldiers said it was a closed military zone but refused to produce the orders." Who exactly does she think she is, this woman? It's a CLOSED MILITARY ZONE. That means that it is out of bounds to civilians. Period. The soldiers don't owe this woman or her cronies any additional explanation. If the IDF has closed the zone, it's closed, and that's that. They certainly don't need to show protesters any written orders or justify their actions. They are under orders from above.
56. Salma??? #52. Is that you???
Israeli 2   (04.03.11)
There IS hope for you. You may yet beget a diploma and a book from OZ.
57. that was fun.
Golan ,   Modiin   (04.03.11)
the protestors were treated with kid gloves and by whining they just look more like the putzes that they are. I seen their protests in Israel. These people are vile, violent, and their creative editing does not impress me.
58. #52 is FAKE.
Salma ,   Palestine   (04.03.11)
someone tried to take advantage of my absence to post utter nonsense! Be careful, once again I'm coming back from a short break : )
59. The army should not bother
Hertzel ,   Tveria   (04.03.11)

60. They are soldiers and they shout at enemies IT IS NORMAL !
