2. ElBaradei acknowledges that Gaza is Egyptian
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (04.04.11)
If he is willing to go to war over it just give it to him, it is theirs anyway.
3. LOL!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.04.11)
That would be a cute trick, considering that if Egypt militarizes the Sinai, it will have the effect of nullifying the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel and the Sinai will revert to Israel. El Baradei is showing his true colors. "Zionist entity?" And this loony tune ran the IAEA for how long? No wonder the Iranians got a free ride for so long. The political winds that are blowing in Egypt have ratcheted up the anti-Israel rhetoric. This does not bode well for Egypt. Open the Rafah crossing? Please do. Give us a reason, El Baradei. Just give us a reason.
4. Why Arabs Need Israel
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (04.04.11)
What a BIG surprise the joker plays the anti-Israel card while running for office. So ELBaradei can now be questioned as to his neutrality when working for the UN. Again we see people who the UN work closely with, and give vast amounts of authority to, are anti-Israel. Why I'm just so surprised! Let's face it this guy is a Muslim Brotherhood member, and needs up his name recognition. The best way, of course is to attack Israel. But it's all bluster, the last thing the Egyptian people want is a war now. But maybe I'm wrong and the idiots believe the hype.
5. When the troubles are at home, why not to blame the Jews...?
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (04.04.11)
This has been the attitude taken by ALL Muslim-Arab leaders over the years, and the hopeful leaders of Egypt are not any different. Sadly, the single person who doesn't understand this is Mr. B.H.Obama...!!
6. So much for the "new" Egypt
Rachel ,   US   (04.04.11)
This is exactly what Israel & Saudi Arabia (of all countries) agreed on, the fear of a more radical Egypt.
7. time to say nothing but also do nothing to help them

they need us more than we need them.

bomb, let him foam at the mouth
9. & eaxactly where was Mr. ElBaradei when he said this?
Sally Forth ,   Jerusalem   (04.04.11)
Given that he's a non-persona in Egypt particularly since he spends zero time there why should we even bother taking him seriously? Oh! you mean we should take him seriously because he is drumming up votes by talking the anti-Israel talk yet again? Ok that's a horse of a different color!
10. El-Baradei
Philip ,   Afula, Israel   (04.04.11)
The real El Baradei has now stepped forward. Absolutely NO ROOM for any misunderstandings here.Thank you very much.
11. Let the cat out of the bag
Ronni ,   TLV   (04.04.11)
peace with arabs dont worth the paper it's written on.
12. Stupid old bastard.
Talula ,   Israel   (04.04.11)
How such an outright Jew hating Arab could ever have gotten the job of chief of the IAEA is beyond me.
13. Yes, indeed.
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (04.04.11)
Please do sir! We can't wait. Gazans can't wait. They want to run away from Hamas anyway. Please take your Gaza back and take care of it the way you should have been. What an empty gesture!! And the Arabs and Felestinians can't see how impractical this peace porposal has become?
14. Peace
john ,   jerusalem   (04.04.11)
Many who support the idea of a peace agreement with Palestinians use our peace with Egypt as an example of success. This article only proves the rule that the Arab world is unstable and therefore we should not make peace with any Arab state with a military. They are simply not to be trusted nor are their regimes stable. We cannot bet the Jewish future on the stability of the Mid-east.
15. pandering kills credibility

16. dont cry if you lose your army
andrew ,   singapore   (04.04.11)
dont cry and beg UN for cease-fire if your army is trapped again like the Yom Kippur War, Third Army.
17. ah, the comments of a true scoundrel, default to
ralph   (04.04.11)
anti-semitism, or anti-israel, anything but deal with real issues. he must be really doing poorly at the polls. i guess iran stopped paying him off once he lost his job monitoring nuclear activity, which he did well with both eyes sealed shut.
18. Egypt border threat - move the border away from Rafah!
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (04.04.11)
The simplest and most effective counter to ElBaradei's threat would be to cut Gaza in two just North of Rafah, with a "new Gaza border" in the form of a 2-mile wide No-Mans-Land strip from Keren Shalom to the sea. Few people to displace, and would be too wide to tunnel under. Porous tunnel-ridden Philadelphi route would be bypassed, no more smuggling of weapons, rockets or anything else. Keep the strip clear of Hamas with artillery, minefields and a line of Israeli forts running down the middle of it. Let El Baradei keep Rafah and join it with the Egyptian half. End of Hamas. Also the end of US aid and arms to Egypt if El Baradei gets elected and engages in this conduct - Congress will instantly embargo economic aid, arms, ammo and spare parts to Egypt, and not a damn thing Obama can do about it. Not too bright to "go to war" with Israel under these circumstances, or Sinai will become Israeli again (for good) within days, and El Baradei can figure out how to practice his socialist "redistribution" scheme with no money.
19. Muslim Brotherhood El-Baradei
Brod ,   USA   (04.04.11)
Muslim Brotherhood El-Baradei is asking for preemption.
20. Will the Egyptians seal their fate?
Gomoku ,   I S R A E L   (04.04.11)
Will the Egyptians seal their fate by voting this guy in? Do they think another war with Israel will help them with their daily lives?
21. Well, Mr. Nobel Peace Prize winner...
Michael ,   Denmark   (04.04.11)
if your fascist regime raises one finger against Israel, how many days do you think it will take to lose Sinai this time..? The problem with you people is that you are so full of hot air that you never learn.
22. GOOD MORNING LEARN HISTORY
david benny ,   USA   (04.04.11)
Being he head of atomic energy means you are ZERO knowledge in history. Just go back and see how many wars we have won in history.Or you re trying to motivate egyptians to fight against israel.
23. ".. a kind of one way peace."
Eli ,   Yerushalayim   (04.04.11)
In fact, the peace with Egypt is one-sided. Israelis want peace, Egyptians apparently not. If he really likes Gaza so much, he can take it. We have shown that we don't want it. But probably he has to ask his masters in Theheran before.
24. Mr.El Baradei did his outmost to support
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (04.04.11)
Irans nuke program...he is a sick Jew hater like his dear buddys Ahmadinedashad and Nasrallah... He is certainly one of the "new" ugly faces of Egypt...
25. Funny thoughts....
Gabriel ,   Jerusalem   (04.04.11)
He says: "there has been no tangible breakthrough in reconciliation process because of the imbalance of power in the region - a situation that creates a kind of one way peace." Well Mr., I believe thereĀ“s no tangible breakthrough in the process because of people like you and the value of your words and signatures.
26. Egypt forgets the past
sk ,   USA   (04.04.11)
Funny how it takes about a generation or two to forget the lessons of history. Let Egypt suffer the same defeats again, under the wrath of God!
27. Giving Sinai to Egypt ...
Jules   (04.04.11)
What a horrible mistake it was !
28. Spoken like a true nationalist demagogue...
Rafi ,   US   (04.04.11)
.. who never spent a day of his life in the military, much less combat. Ditto re. that other snake Amr Mousa (former Egyptian FM and now head of the Arab League) who has for years has opposed Israel's existence in the region and sniped at the Camp David treaties. It is interesting to note that there is less belligerent talk from the Egyptian army leadership, many of whom have actually experienced war.
29. He represents what most in Eygpt feel and think.
Atrash ,   Cairo   (04.04.11)
Mubarak, didn't represent true Egyptian interests and was bought by US money, no more of that.
30. @Ynetnews
Truth Seeker ,   Cairo, Egypt   (04.04.11)
check your sources. your article is based on information gleaned from the Tehran Times (the irony) which, in turn, is quoting an interview that never happened. "Al Watan" newspaper? I challenge you to post a link ;) ElBaradei was asked about Gaza in a television interview with Amr El Leithy on Dream 2. He never said he would "declare war" on Israel (a nobel *peace* prize laureate? really?). What he *did* say was that he'd re-examine the Arab Joint Defense treaty. that aside, THANK YOU. this kind of uninformed, zionist propaganda is the best, free PR for ElBaradei presidential campaign. We need all the votes we can get. Keep up the good work! :)
