1. Subsidized? Why not for FREE
Talula ,   Israel   (04.04.11)
Our government just couldn't go the extra mile for 15,000 survivors. I'm so embarassed for them and their lack of humanity towards these survivors.
2. Better late than never
Michael ,   California, USA   (04.05.11)
Thank you for this late response, Knesset, and it is most welcome. Holocaust survivors underwrite the international support Israel received since the end of the Second World War. Some of their poverty today is a black mark upon Israel's reputation, especially since the shilumim from Germany were sufficient to pay for supporting those survivors much better than it has been done. Knesset Member Zeev Bielski deserves accolades for his initiative.
3. Subsidy of medicines for survivors.
Michael Albert ,   Holon, Israel   (04.05.11)
The initiative of Mr. Bielsky M.K. is apreciated for taking up the issue of subsidy for medicines for Holocaust survivors. In the implementation, I fear there will be the usual delays due to bureocracy. The Treasury does not seem to have a list of Holocaust survivors, and the final list of recipients of subsidy will have to be transmutted to the health service organizations. As the number of survivors is continuing to diminish, it would be more just to have the entire cost of medications taken up by the state.
