1. those peoples spit on democraty !
Scorpion   (04.05.11)
2. Temple Mount, which Muslims hold sacred, would NOT be govern
(04.05.11)
wow--thats a deep, well thought out plan--NOT governing something of such an importance--deep!
3. 67 lines
Avi W ,   Natanya   (04.05.11)
The best thing about their whole solution is that when the split happens, these 40 guys will go to the other side, just to show how peaceful and loving our Palestinian neighbors will be. I for one can wait.
4. This is a cheap and false article!
Israeli 2   (04.05.11)
published by YNet and their leftist gangs. HA! Ex mossad and shin bet could be the chefs (not chiefs) who work there. As usual trying to agitate and irritate those who truly love Israel. I don't believe a word of it.
5. Palestinians already rejected a more generous version
Danny   (04.05.11)
6. Pinky pink world
Salam ,   Alykum   (04.05.11)
I hope Iran agree to this plan and then peace will descend on our miserable lives. Shiiats and soonies will walk hand in hand into the sunset...... Nabil will be able to marry Mustaffah.... Hizbullah will send its weapons and missiles back to Iran as they will not be needed any more and Hamas will shave their beards and concentrate on growing better tomatoes Last but not least, in Afghanistan UN staff will not be beheaded and they will go back to what they do best which is growing poppy
7. One question
Confused ,   Confused Land   (04.05.11)
If there is a corridor between West Bank and Gazza under Pali control then how are we Israelis going to travel from Tel Aviv to Eilat, would we need a passport for that journey. Just answer this question first, I have lots more to ask.
8. Apart from anything else
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (04.05.11)
Apart from anything else, the problem with this "initiative" is that it is not new. Both Barak and Olmert offered the Arabs much more and were rejected, Barak even getting a bloody war with thousand of dead Jewish civilians in response. It would be interesting to know who paid the 40 personalities to sign the report.
9. Jerusalem Jews will leave the city
Gavriel ,   Budapest, Hungary   (04.05.11)
If the Old City will be divided and the Palestinians are going to control the historic walls between Mamila Shopping Mall and the Arab neighborhoods (Christian Quarter) then Jews will never have a sleep in West Jerusalem and in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City. From economic point of view, the plan would lead to a social catastrophe and nobody would invest in this kind of "maccheroni city". Real estates in Western Jerusalem will loose from their value, i.e. more and more Jewish would move out of Jerusalem.
10. Promoting BDS against Israel
Ilan ,   Ariel   (04.05.11)
The proposal (all 2 pages as at the NYTimes) says very little that the far-left hasn't said before. It proposes to split Israel in half with a corridor in order to give the Palestinians contiguity (at our expense!!). It proposes that 7% of Judea and Samaria remain in Israeli. It will fail on refugees and Jerusalem as it isn't any different than Olmert's proposal, but it will create pressure on the elected (as in we are a democracy) government to adopt the policies of Meretz. In the end it will be used as billy club against all Israelis.
11. Critical point missing.
Jules   (04.05.11)
Where is the demand that the PA must recognize Israel as democratic, Zionist state, the Motherland of the Jewish people ?
12. Don't get excited boys and girls
Wissam ,   Palestine   (04.05.11)
Palestine is from river to sea. No negotiations with apartheid and Zionism. Not in a million years. Your private sector can envision all they want. Palestinian rights, including those of refugees -> Non-negotiable.
13. 2.002?Before Hamas shot Israel and IrĂ£n almost guet the bomb
ROSENVALD ,   BRASIL   (04.05.11)
Now is another reality.
14. Appeasing the huge Arab Nation
David N ,   Haifa, Israel   (04.05.11)
Oh my... OH MY! NO! Anti-Jewish feelings did not start with the 1967 war. That is a poor reference point. The huge Arab world is to be placated? We all pretend that Israel accosted the tiny "Palestinian" nation, and "stole" its land? Who are these men that they relieve themselves upon the Nation of Israel? This is politics at its most unhygienic. And a THREE state solution, not TWO. A Judenrein Transjordanian Palestine, a Judenrein Cisjordanian Palestine, and Israel's sliver in which we MUST allow 1.5 Palestinians to live free. W*E*I*R*D!
15. What does most of the West Bank mean?
Cynic #2   (04.05.11)
by Israeli standards? 100% 90% ... or 45% and what is East Jerusalem? does it mean East of Jerusalem? Any way, good luck.
16. PEACE TALKS? FOOLS - THERE NEVER WAS SUCH A THING!
stude ham   (04.05.11)
we cannot take any more backward steps... just because violent arab mobs are rampant in countries under tyranical rule.
17. Well if the Left like it; it MUST be OK
Gideon Reader ,   USA   (04.05.11)
The list of former polititurds and synchophants and ball holders of the left simply cannot give away the country fash enough. What will be gained by Israel? Zippo. Nada. Effes. What will be gained by the BeeGees? Launch pad adjacent to J'lem and territory for the Hezbollah to operate the armor they will recieve from Iran and Egypt. This is not a Peace Plan. It's a suicide note.
18. # 12 Wissam
Khalil   (04.05.11)
Not enough. Islam from North Pole to South Pole. From sunrise to sunset. Round the Globe in all directions. The Earth, World, Globe and the Cosmos, all belong to Islam as promised by Allah. Nothing must be allowed for anyone else.
19. This proposal is a JOKE...but not a very
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (04.05.11)
funny one... NOT ONE SQUARE INCH...NOT ONE... Israel will finally get the upper hand over ALL it's enemies...Hussein Obama will not become re-elected, Syria will be destabilized for a long time to come...and the "Palestinian" state with it's capital Amman will eventually be established in Jordan... Let the good times roll...!!!
20. Nothing new under the sun!
Matthias Roth ,   Switzerland   (04.05.11)
This 'new' peace initiave is in no way different than its predecessors as it calls for an Israeli withdrawal and evacuation of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria (and even the Golan). But there is another peace initiative which unfortunately has been ignored by most of the media, and that is the Israeli initiative by Rabbi Benny Elon: http://www.israelinitiative.com
21. Been there, done that
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (04.05.11)
How many times do you have to repackage the same old pile of fail? It failed before and it will fail again.
22. Follow the money. Who pays these boys?
Moshe ,   Netanya   (04.05.11)
NY slimes does not publish something without getting money. Who payed for these boys? Libian rebels? Saudi king? Assad fund?
23. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
avi ,   israel   (04.05.11)
honestly get a grip...those that want peace educate towards peace.....we are hated by them..most of their do not even have Israel...go home retire we have had enough of your idiotic ideas
24. How is this any different?
Rachel ,   US   (04.05.11)
From any of the rest of the leftist nonsense.
25. There'll be no peace, even if...
ZionWarrior ,   Jerusalem   (04.05.11)
...the State of Israel reduced itself to the municipal borders of Jaffa-Tel Aviv. Islam holds that Jews (and Christians) MAY NOT be sovereign in territory that was once under Muslim rule. The signatories to this "peace plan" MAY BE experts in their fields - but they are dangerously ignorant of the basic beliefs of Israel's most dangerous foe - Islam.
26. The 1967 line is meaningless
Tahl   (04.05.11)
It is merely the armitice line after the cessation of fighting against the Jordanian forces, in the Independence War. This line has absolutely no political relevance, and absolutely no relation to Palestinian territories, or the future Palestinian state for that matter. There are many areas inside this line which are vital for Israel, such as Mount Scopus, Latrun, Pisgat Ze'ev, Maale Edumim, Har Adar and more. Conversely, there are many Arab towns just outside this line, like Taybeh, Baka, and Um El Fahm - which should reasonably be under Palestinian control. Thus, any agreement based on this line is flawed and erroneous. As for the Golan - we will give it to Syria the day after Turkey gives them back occupied Iskenderoon. Ayalon, Mitzna, Yatom and the rest of these leftists have all been political faulures. They have no mandate from the Israeli people to deal away vital parts of our country.
27. "I"About time the Israeli public raised its voice as well
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (04.05.11)
These guys must have missed the election of 2009 where the Israeli public rejected the leadership of the left. This proposal is little different from the Geneva Initiative or the Saudis' "Israel gives us what we want" plan.
28. dead wrong
Alexi   (04.05.11)
67 borders will not satisfy arabs who are more interested in defeating israel than any state.this group of military figures are severely tarnished. Ami ayalon can switch on a dime and is unreliable though brave.Mitzna brought death to israel by his gaza abdication of the philadelphi corridor and has no value for me.Yatom is not bad but like barak, he is disconnected from reality. Yuval rabin follows his dad who tried and failed with oslo.Shahak has political ambitions and is not specials and likewise peri. 67 borders means israel shares its security with arabs which is no good at all. jordan valley and river has to be controlled by idf. And giving up golan is suicide and a form of self hatred. No matter what conceessions israel makes, arabs would not be satisfied and they can change their stance in a second if one word against islam is made or misinterpreted. How jews could still have a suicide wish is beyond belief but consistent with their history. Yuval rabin is no great shakes and frankly his father, was not impressive in 1973 or during the lebanon wars.
29. enless supply of leftist trash from Attila
trumpeldor   (04.05.11)
Most Israelis expect from Ynet to do do better for example,an proper article should reflect deep Israeli needs for secure borders, excluding auschiwtz 67 cease fire lines .....
30. Yes, but WHO exactly guarantees the peace
Jonny ,   South Africa   (04.05.11)
As a talking point, thats fine, its a start. BUT who guarantees this "peace" and security. The USA, the UK, the International Community. They are all a joke. Of course, should things go wrong, they may debate a bit, stall, certain well known World Hand Wringers will wring their hands but do nothing. Thats the problem. You basically have a large proportion of people who are determined to wipe Israel and the Jews off the map. And they do not neccessary live in Palestine, but in Islamic counries of the Middle East.. One only has to witness the beheadings and butchery of Nato and UN personel in Afghanistan over the burning of a Koran in the USA. Sunni and Shite rivalry. Unstable Middle East Dictators or Autocratic rule. One shudders to think what they would do to reatin power, and who they would blame for their own failures.
