You might have forgotten that the State of Israel is the only democratic country in the Middle East, which shares the same set of human values as the United States of America do: democracy and freedom. Which makes Israel the only reliable (because it is based on the same IDEOLOGY) ally of the USA in that region. It is very unwise to impose such a pressure upon a small nation and a natural ally, which is fighting for its existence.
