5. Really amazing military technology
Al Mujahid   (04.06.11)
Israel is well-known for its superior military technology. Unfortunately, it is used for killing people resisting their greed for land. I hope some time in the near future, they will direct all their superior resources at enhance human standard of living.
6. Apaches?
Stephen in New York   (04.06.11)
Interesting, at that range.
7. Cool, wonder who it was...
Jackson ,   Melbourne   (04.06.11)
i think you guys are reading it wrong, the plane came in, did its business and in the aftermath there were 2 apaches seen. probably belonging to the sudanese air force....?
8. #5 - last I checked....it was for resisting your genocide...
William ,   Israel   (04.06.11)
beginning in 1920 and sworn by racist Muslims to this day. Unfortunately, while we see much Israeli technology improve human standard of living - from healthcare to arid irrigation and communications - your ilk still put 99% of their efforts into harming Israeli civilians and nothing benefiting the human race. One result of Israel's "evil" is the high literacy rates of "Palestinians" way above the rest of the Arab world, and the lives of many Arab children saved by emergency heart surgery.
9. Well were the airplanes or where they apaches?
(04.06.11)
from the text it isn't clear! and who was hit? that's not mentioned either. so this is a whole bunch of non-reporting!
10. He who lives by the sword dies by it.
B.E. ,   Whangarei, N.Z.   (04.06.11)
Another good riddance to bad rubbish? Consequences follow all our choices. How tragic the consequences that are yet to come and are drawing nearer every day. Zechariah 12:3.
11. to #5 Mujahid
John ,   Alaska   (04.06.11)
First: There is no such thing as a holy war, and according to Scripture, warriors are _not_ holy. David the King, a man after the Lord's own heart, could not build the Temple because of his vocation as a warrior. "Holy warrior" is a contradiction in terms. Second: if the Jews are characterized by greed for land, why is it that in the 1920's and 1930's, years before the Almighty rebirthed the nation of Israel in fulfillment of prophecy, that Arabs came from Jordan, massacred families of Jews who had been living for centuries in their homes in Hebron and other Jewish cities and STOLE THE JEWS' LAND? Killing people resisting their greed for land? Indeed, the Arabs have been doing exactly that for much longer than Israel has been around again.
12. not only military tec
Phil ,   Portland   (04.06.11)
# 5 not only superior military technology. but every other technology known to man.... and the Arabs...hummmm still riding camels and teaching hate, and waisting their time sitting around smoking hookas.
13. Whoever...
Mark ,   USA   (04.06.11)
Whoever did it, more power to them! Excellent job.
14. #5 "mujahid": you really need to do some learning
dante ,   uk   (04.06.11)
the Jews are not stealing anyone else's land: the Jews were there 3000 years ago. look at your holy scriptures. as for standard of living: look at the increase in the standard of living of the people west of the Jordan since '67. look at the technology they now use in agriculture, the crop yields, etc. all vastly improved because the terrible Jews taught modern farming to the people of the west bank. these people enjoy greater prosperity and more freedom than ever before in their history. and, if there were no attacks on Jews, there would be no checkpoints, no barrier, etc.
15. To #5 Al Mujahid
Rob ,   USA   (04.06.11)
If Israel wasn't already in the "enhancing human standard of living" business, there's a high probability you wouldn't be able to post on this website, see it on a laptop computer.....etc. They don't call Israel the Silicon Valley of the Middle East for nothing.
16. Job well done... Congrats IDF!!!!

Noach ,   USA   (04.06.11)
Improve the human standard of living... both inside and outside Israel. Look it up.
19. Raymond #3 Recent CH-53 loss in Greece
Stephen in New York   (04.06.11)
Recent CH-53 loss in Greece was because Israel was training for long-range penetration over mountainous territory. Greece is similar range from Israel as Iran.
20. Libyan connection?
David   (04.06.11)
There was a report on a website with a much lower readership (Debkafile) one or two weeks ago, repeated a day or two ago, that anti-addafi Libyan rebels had sold nerve and mustard gas shells from Qaddafi's chemical weapons stockpiles to Hamas and Hezbollah weapons traffickers in exchange for funds, and that the weapons were in transit to Sudan on the way to their intended recipients in Gaza and Lebanon. I suspect that this strike was intended to intercept that shipment, which if true would troublingly be yet another recent confirmation of the general accuracy of the website's anonymously sourced investigative reporting-- and by extension, of the general accuracy of the often alarming information regularly contained in their other reports as well. On a positive note, it's great that Israel at least has a leadership that is equipped and willing to take the necessary actions to combat these growing threats-- countervailing pressures notwithstanding.
21. #5 You've got it wrong!
Maurice ,   Montreal   (04.06.11)
Israel is already contributing greatly to enhance human quality of life in many ways (medicine, electronics, environment, etc.) and quite a bit more than Arab countries. However, Israel needs also to defend herself from numerous enemies who want nothing less than her annihilation. Therefore, Israel must also use her technological advantage to defend herself.
22. to 6
bobbooo ,   gazA   (04.06.11)
Elzananeh ???not interesting at all
23. Who said it was an Israeli airplane?
Ariel ,   Europe   (04.06.11)
Those Sudanese would believe anything. In the days of Lord Kitchener they believed that Mahdi would make them bullet-proof. Now they believe in Israeli airplanes! What airplanes? There is no Israel, only Palestine - look at the Sudanese map, if you doubt it. So, obviously it was the holy iron bird of Rukh, coming from Mecca to punish the sinners and evildoers!
24. #19 it wasn't in Greece it was in Bulgaria...
Israeli ,   Israel   (04.06.11)
and it was a joint training program late last summer but other than that you are correct. :-)
25. why are they pointing fingers at us?
Naomi ,   Israel   (04.06.11)
Could it be because we have the best little airforce in the whole world backed up by excellent intelligence? But really I don't think it was us this time I think it was either the Americans, the British or the Australians as they are mightily annoyed with the Sudanese pirates who keep kidnapping and killing civilian sailors from these countries who delight in entering Sudanese territorial waters. So let's point our finger in the right direction the Americans, the British or the Australians did it....not us!
26. Arabs/Muslims
06.04.2011   (04.06.11)
Is there a difference. I know a couple who were born in Bethlehem. They are Christians... does that make them arabs or muslims.? I find it all very confusing. I certainly know that the muslims are thieves. Money from myself hs been stolen from me by them. And I don't know about allah being their god, but I sure know that money is above all to them.
27. #5
i ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.06.11)
Living in Jerusalem, I've met some great Muslim doctors, pharmacists and engineers. Have you met any Jewish doctors in Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia? No? That's because Jews were driven out from there. When you talk about greed, you need to first look at the map and see how small Israel is, and then ask yourself. "Don' Jews deserve 0.1% of Middle-East? Just FYI, Issa is Jewish, his brothers and mother were Jews also"
28. viva I.A.F. (israel air force)

29. Israeli Competence
macktheknife   (04.06.11)
If Israel was to use her full force against the warmongering and jealous arab nations, Israel could claim all of arab desert land. In no time, all that land would truly be a rose blooming in the desert. Go for it Israel... you have NOTHING to lose! Once and for all, get that stinkin' bunch of drek off your back. Israel is too kind to their enemies. Israel needs to hit with more power. Failing that, a little shake-up here and there wouldn't be a bad idea.
30. IDF?
Sam M ,   UK   (04.06.11)
Given the well known tendency to react with hysteria and exaggeration throughout the arab and muslim world this may not be what it seems. It could have been cooking gas bottles exploding in a car or even a jihadist bomb maker 'learning on the job'. Whatever happened there will always be 'witnesses' who swear on 'the blood of the Martyrs' that they saw an aircraft even if there wasn't a bird in the sky. Though if it does turns out to be an Israeli aircraft and the dead were terrorists then congratulations to the IDF for a job well done. Either way there'll be yet another day of rage. Yawn!
