God bless Israel. I like that don't cower like Obama and his mindless minions
32. Possible, but wouldn't work.
MC ,   Orange Park, FL   (04.07.11)
"Does anyone know if that would be realistic in technical terms? It seems much more impressing than the usual answers given today. " This is technically possible, they can now track the exact launch point for rockets. The problem is that if you auto-fire back, the shooters would start launching from the top of hospitals, right next to Mosques, in crowded areas and from schools so any return fire will maximize the political damage.

There are many Christian brothers & sisters in the USA who are standing with Isreal. You are not alone, the Lord will guide and protect you as in the days of old. Any people who attack Isreal will have the Lord Almighty to contend with, and they will lose every time. So, please stand firm, the eyes of the Lord and of the world are on you, and our prayers are with you. Shalom Andy Schmidt

Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (04.07.11)
Given the cost of each interception, the system is designed to estimate where the projectile is likely to land. If it's a populated area or strategic site, it will be intercepted. If it's an open field, then not. (And hopefully, there won't be some poor Thai worker working that field.) But those who fire those projectiles should be made to pay the price for their aggression, even if Israel is spared damage or loss of life. And Euro-trash inclined to charge "disproportionate response" should hold their tongues.

It would be great to automatically target the launch sites, but Hamas will launch from the rooftops of schools and hospitals and Israel will once again be condemned for a "disproportionate" response. According to the left, Israel is supposed to let the rockets land and kill people. After all, it's just not "fair" that Israel has all that technology and Hamas doesn't. Not fair at all.

Thomas ,   USA   (04.07.11)
American Jewry never suffered the same atrocities than the EU-Jews did during the Holocaust. They are solidly fused to Marxism-Stalinism which passed from father to son. They dream of an Utopian Marxist world in which there will be no nations (Israel) no ethnic culture; ever since 1917 Russia they are in the process of re-engineering the world. The Kenyan was selected to be the front man for he's untouchable due to his race. The real leaders are the Soros-Jstreet- N.Y. Times all Marxist Jews to a man. They HATE Israel.

I am thrilled that the system worked, but it is not cost effective, and it can never be 100% effective. Israel must start targeting all Gaza civilians for each Hamas rocket that is fired at Israel. Israel should NOT apologize for this no matter how much the world bitches and moans. Once the rockets stop raining down on Israel, Israel can stop bombing Gaza.

it encourages to import more rockets to compensate for the 30% loss.

Violence by ISLAM is its's goal in life. One day all islamic believers will appear before the White Throne Judgement and answerer for your actions and then be thrown in the Lake of Fire to burn forever. Christ is the only answer.
47. Is Israel allowed to go on the offensive?
eyewire2000 ,   Portland,Oregon, USA   (04.07.11)
You comment reminds me how Israel is condemned every time the go on the offensive. Escalation? Yes, but they have the right to kill those that attack them. Again, if their enemies laid down their arms there would be peace in this conflict.
48. Israel We Support You
Terri ,   Georgia USA   (04.07.11)
Israel does not need me to say she has a right to support herself, but I think with the dangers around I'll say it anyway...Israel, you have all rights, given by God as all people have, to defend yourself and by God I say, DEFEND YOURSELF! Israel, the US President has turned his back on the American people and our ally. Do what you must! We still stand with Israel!

Ground based artillery already can do this. So I'd say the Israeli anti-milssile system could be configured to do so too.

After this defense, Israel will no doubt be blamed for committing aggression on the incoming rocket

57. iron dome is a financial problem----trophy is not
zeev ,   nyc   (04.07.11)
iron dome rockets are very expensive. like the u.s., the israeli military may be tempted to spend money it does not have to line the wallets of contractors. since the idf says we only use iron dome to protect against valuable targets, there is only one reasonable use of iron dome, that is to protect jerusalem , tel aviv and haifa from long rang missiles, not from qassam and katyusha. everyone in the military knows this. however trophy tank defense system i must say, should be on EVERY tank. good job idf. the essential problem most people don't see with missile defense is of protecting a target , not of intercepting a missile. in the u.s. missile defense has been a major scam and many billions fraudulently spent on testing devices that would never work as intended. please israel, do not make this same mistake, you cannot afford to go bankrupt right now, with so much instability around you.
58. #47 Eyewire
Dallas ,   Canada   (04.07.11)
World opinion states that it is illegal for Israel to defend herself. 'Rule of law' and 'human rights' protect all nations EXCEPT Israel. Hence these concepts are as false as a unicorn. A farce. The onus is on Israel to challenge the world and get them to acknowledge this fact.
59. RE: anti-missile technology
Eric ,   CA, USA   (04.07.11)
The problem is that Hamas has in the past launched rockets and mortars from areas that are highly urbanized. If such an automatic system were to react, civilian casualties would be high, and if an operator was added into the system, he or she would need time to evaluate the situation that by the time a conclusion is made, the terrorists would be gone.
60. In The WORD
Moragh   (04.07.11)
the Lord has said that He will always protect the Apple of His Eye i.e. ISRAEL. Thank you Lord that you have kept your Word. Continue to Bless and uphold Israel (your chosen Land and people) and please bring to an end the Arab aggression and brutality of the arab peoples. A life means everything to you for You made us in Your image. Again, my thanks and love to you. Amen!
