1. HAMAS are losers, Israel will make a fortune from Iron Dome
Charlie Sheen   (04.09.11)
HAMAS are losers. They can't win. They are too stupid. Their constant rocket attacks resulted in Israel developing new technology - Iron Dome. They are the first in the world with this technology and will get orders for Billions of dollars from countries around the world needing this technology. Israel will win. Israel's economy will. HAMAS and Gaza will get nothing.
2. Best defense is good offense.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (04.09.11)
While an impressive achievement technologically, Iron Dome is too expensive. The mamzirim in Gaza can shoot hundreds of cheap Kassams. The system does not work for mortars. It is no defense against infiltrators & suicide bombers. Basically, this is the wrong approach. Also, it creates a sense of false security. And, it is an excuse to avoid taking meaningful preemptive military action.
3. No Peace with the Arabs
Richard ,   Boca Raton, USA   (04.09.11)
Obama and the UN wants Israel to give up more land to these Palistinian animals. If israel gave up the west bank, can one imagine the rockets and mortar shells that would be fired on Israel. News Flash: Israel will never give up more land. The only two-state solution would include Jordan.
4. Debka says Hamas & Hizbullah are challenging you for the
Harry Wright ,   UK   (04.09.11)
500 meter buffer zone. It is deliberate and the call for a truce is a test for both Israel and the international community. Well, it seems Israel is busy at the moment and will get back to Hamas in due course.
5. US style solution
joe ,   jerusalem   (04.09.11)
America under Hamas missile attack? They would have take over Gaza, and sent Hamas and his criminal members to Guantanamo. I know that many people are against this kind of solution, but that's one of the differences between Israel and USA, they dont have to ask for permission to defend them selfs.
6. ham-ass should be billed for each

interceptor as well as the cost for the whole Iron Dome project and all medical bills and damage to Israel. It would be a lot cheaper and put an end to this terrorism by using artillery to bombard gaza. Every shell fired into a different area, then wait for some time to pass and repeat. After a few hundred shells, they will give up.

10. HAMAS AND HUMAN SHIELDS
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (04.09.11)
Where is the UN? condemning not only the "War Crimes" Hamas is committing by targeting civilian centers, but the double crimes? Since they are using their own people as Human Shields? Each act or attack is TWO "War Crimes", one for targeting civilians, and one for using using civilians as shields. Why this doesn't bring instant, and universal condemnation, is bizarre to say the least. Then to have their leaders fake dress up in Muslim garb is laughable. It seem the more atrocious and vile their acts, suddenly, they find religion, and dress differently to make their false appeal to the Muslim world. Of course it wouldn't be complete without using the TRIGGER words, the Pallywood words to elicit undeserved sympathy. So we hear, or read nonsense like: "stop the occupier aggression", "the Zionist aggression must stop", "the aggression" etc., while leaving out Hamas drew first blood. But nobody is buying it anymore, the jig is up boys. The Arabs think if they keep repeating the same lie, people will believe it. Sadly, many do!!
11. "fired at Ashkelon"; does it tells anything because
observer ,   Egypt   (04.09.11)
most of the intercepted rockets were fired at Ashkelon. The Iron dome cannot intercept too short range rockets. The Iron Dome has to have enough time to function! Till Hamas get ultra-short time rockets, it has to suffice itself with firing at Sderot.
12. # 8
B.A.   (04.09.11)
The Dome is VERY expensive to activate. Yes, Israel ought to draw international attention to its security costs and actually sue Hamas for every damage made by their shelling, and for the cost of every time the Dome has to be put in use.

where's the success?
16. DUMP Bibi ,Barak,elect Terry as P.M.,D.M.
Marcel ,   Florida   (04.09.11)
He's got more sense than the whole ruling asses of Israel and he won't bow down in fear to the counterfeit peace pimps of Washington. Israel desperately needs a leader who is not on a tight leash of restraint.
17. GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
milly   (04.09.11)
NOW ISRAEL, TAKE NOTE WHEN YOU HIT A KASAM SEND BACK ANOTHER ONE TO THE PLACE OF ORIGIN. LIKE A BUMERANG. :) jajajajajaj

19. #15 -- Success Rate
Yoni ,   Toronto   (04.09.11)
100 rockets sent. 9 Intercepted. 0 deaths or injuries. The system's not supposed to intercept every rocket -- only ones likely to hit populated areas.
20. Hitting one out of six flying water pipes...
Persian CAT   (04.09.11)
fired from a couple of miles away, is sure a hell of a technological breakthrough that deserves juicy articles such as this one, and maybe a day set aside to celebrate such an immense "victory" over flying water pipes hurled by a bunch of Gaza kids. You guys haven't seen real rockets raining on you, yet. Get your slingshots ready.
21. Mark from GA. Yes, the jig is up but that's for...
Persian CAT   (04.09.11)
the Zionista and their apologists, not the people who are trying to free themselves from the concentration camp established by the Zionists. Constantly barking about the "human shields", which is a canard put out by the Zionist aggressors, does not shield the facts that the whole world knows who is committing the actual war crimes, your buddies the Zionista, not the Palestinians. The only ones who are lying are people like you.
22. #15
student ,   beersheva   (04.09.11)
it fires only on the one's that are bound on hitting populated areas. 100% sucsess till now.
23. #15 The success was that the system determined that 9 rocket
meir elazar   (04.09.11)
posed a threat to civilian populations and were intercepted. The other 91 or whatever fell harmlessly in the desert and we did not need to waste resources or money in destroying them. The good news is that 50 children got off of the SCHOOL BUS before it was hit. Our prayers are with the 16 year old child that was hit. The good news is also that I know of no more innocent Israeli civilian casualties. Also, the good news is that Israel killed around 30 PAL terrorists and I hope that that number increases dramatically until not a single terrorist remains, until no more rockets and mortars are fired at Israeli civilians, and until israeli children can play outside without fear of PAL terror.
24. Stop
Hertzel ,   Tveria   (04.09.11)
Stop worrying about their civilians and start to worry about OURS !!! Kill them with NO regards to where they hide !!! than the population will VOMIT THEM !!!
25. I was thinking
Ypip ,   Canada   (04.09.11)
maybe you should give them a more subtle and abstract design may be worth a shot
26. persian cat-don't you have enough
Barney ,   USA   (04.09.11)
trouble in iran with your backward, ignorant mullahs and president while the people are unhappy and starving and have no freedom and are trying to figure out how the hell stuxnet got in there? don't worry about Israel. oh yeah, that is how the ignorant masses are distracted from their mess by having their leaders get them to focus on big bad Israel. it seems to be working
27. To No. 15
Ido ,   Israel   (04.09.11)
100 rockets+mortars were launched. The system does not intercept anything below 4 KM, and does not intercept any rocket that will fall in an open area. And since there are only two batteries- defending Beer Sheva and Ashkelon (and not Sderot, Ofakim, Ashdodm and the Kibbutzim very close to the Gaza strip) - it is a 100% success. There is still need for 10-15 more batteries to protect all of the south (and northern towns) effectively.
28. #12; B.A.; DON"T WORRY
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (04.09.11)
Israel is getting to use this as a great opportunity to refine the system. You can do all the tests in the world, but until it's used in actual combat, it still is only tests, that cannot account for everything. My Dad was a mechanical design engineer for GM. He always believe that all the testing in the world couldn't account for everything. Until it went into it's first year of production and sales, then made it into the street. He always told me that in the first year of any car (new design), that some refinements would have to be made, no matter how subtle. It didn't matter how many tests you did, it was impossible to account for everything until the car was used by the public. In fact he wouldn't use any new drugs that came on the market. He felt it would take a decade for the ill effects of new medications to manifest themselves. Judging by what I've seen in my life, he was right! My point is this, while it's not the Hamas intention, they are inadvertently helping Israel refine this new system...it may be perfect, I don't know...but if there are any issues it's better to find out now, while under sporadic attacks than in the midst of a full blown war.
29. 21 Don't you have something better to do
Ypip ,   Canada   (04.09.11)
