3. YES! Thank you G-d!
Vanessa ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (04.13.11)
As an American living in Israel, I long for cute, cheap yet sturdy shoes. I hate the Israeli frechi/frecha style and I can't WAIT to see what I've been missing. In particular, Christian Siriano (former Project Runway winner)'s line. YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!
4. Garbage
Alex   (04.13.11)
its all garbage, but I guess for Israel its better since everything else costs more and they charge an arm and a leg for anythung
5. Low end poor quality shoes
Avram Goldsmith ,   Toronto, Canada   (04.13.11)
Wrong title: Garbage came to Israel. Why Israel shoud copy cat American style, because the system is based on brainwash marketing and saleing "system" which offer no service customer(fitting) and not qulity product , in other words blowing sand in your eyes, step out from American mediocrism.
6. good store for Yom Kippur shoes
inna ,   usa   (04.13.11)
Uncomfortable and never made from real leather.
7. Welcome!!!
Ronni ,   Ashkelon   (04.13.11)
I grew up on Payless Shoes and always bought them for my kids when I went back to visit. Great shoes, great system, great to have them!! Now all we need is a Ross or Target.
8. Payless
A Schwartzberg ,   US   (04.13.11)
You get what you pay for.Terrible quality shoes made in China or Korea.Really Really poor quality footwear.
9. "We'll bring America to Israel"
Devash ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.13.11)
And that is precisely why I won't buy from them. I'll give what little I have to spend to my local Israeli neighbors, thank you very much.
10. Wow great news now we can boycott payless

For keeping the prices the same. It is fun to shop at this new American type stores, but still expensive to buy anything. Hopefully this will change the way Israeli retailers view franchising American chains. True they don't have the scale that American chains can afford, but if they keep prices and sales in tact, they will improve shopping as a whole and encourage other brands to come. American retailers are very good at retailing and make shopping in their stores and enjoyable experience.
12. #10 Boycotts
Logic ,   Israel   (04.14.11)
And we in the West can boycott your...nevermind, there's nothing of value to boycott.
13. Beware:HORRIBLE Shoes/EXTREMELY LOW QUALITY! AVOID@AllCosts!
Ed ,   Valparaiso   (04.14.11)
Please, Please Israeli people, [mishpuchah], BE SENSIBLE! This chain store sells absolutely the LOWEST QUALITY SHOES EVER CREATED [by Chinese slave labor or even worse!]. The Cheap, inferior plastic low quality shoes break/rip apart only a few days after their purchase WITHOUT heavy usage. The buckles on some of their sandals aren't even sewn on they are GLUED on with inferior glue! I think they make a profit {the ganniff chain owners do} - by knowing that a large % of people do NOT bother taking these garbage shoes back. They are pieces of absolute DRECK! Save your money & buy a good, ISRAELI-made product!!!
14. #10- you can boycott these as well...
Airborne ,   Jerusalem   (04.14.11)
Coca-cola, pepsi, reebok, nike, Microsoft, Dell, IBM, ford, honda, Toyota, billabong, reef, levis ( and any other international company that sells or operates in Israel). Don't forget to boycott your latest medical technologies, cures, pill cams, ICQ, messenger and anything else that has a patent in Israel. For that matter, you might as well go live in a cave and never come out.
15. Payless shoes
sas ,   israel   (04.14.11)
cheap. lousy and uncomfortable.
16. Payless-Poorless
Jonathan ,   Israel-Merkaz   (04.14.11)
Just what Israel needs, low quality fake leather shoes...more garbage! Wow, what a great idea flood the Israeli market with "faux leather" shoes that don't breath so during the hot sticky months, they will be even more unbearable to wear! Payless is for the masses that cannot afford to buy a decent pair of leather shoes! Better off waiting for the annual sales and shelling out a few more shekels for a pair of real leather shoes...If I want a pair of "throw-away" shoes, good for a few months, then "yala" shop Payless...! I look forward to more stinky feet in plastic shoes mass produced in China! Give me a good pair of real leather shoes even made in some other 3rd world country as long as I can protect my feet! A good pair of leather shoes can last for yeaqrs with proper care! I made aliya almost 8 years a go, and still have some of the better label real leather shoes I brought with me that I had bought on sale...But since Israelis are slaves to brand names...people like Sakal can seduce the average Israeli to run and buy junk...Better off having Sakal offer real end of season sales and discounts on the other brands they import like Timberland, Kenneth Cole, Nine West etc. Let's face it, large families with lots of kids will run to Payless and put garbage on their kids feet...In the States, I don't have to tell you who shops at Payless...
17. And so the west keeping marching to its economic demise
Al   (04.14.11)
Montreal used to be a clothes manufacturing giant. It was the centre of clothes manufacturing in Canada. In fact Americans who had family in Montreal used to stock up on clothes when they came to visit their families. Today its a shell of what it used to be. And so a once great industry is done. Over 100K people used to sew, plan and cut clothes. It went to dust when imports from China became the rule. Today the clothes we buy are garbage. Thye are cheap, they dont last and we in Montreal lost 100K jobs in the process. Thats your future kid........keep on importing gabage. Not only do you lose jobs, (not everyone is a computer maven) but you lose manufacturing skills, so needed in a developing economy. Isreal is still a developing economy. You are doing yourselves a great diservice by allowing these imports to shutter what domestic soft goods manufacturing you may still have.

MB ,   Israel   (04.14.11)
I see that most of you that are saying negative things about payless don't live in Israel. I am a former American living 15 years in Israel so I can tell you about both shoe markets. Shoes in Israel are ridiculously expensive for anything halfway decent and anything under 100 shekels will fall apart within a week. Every time I go to America I stock up on Payless shoes, which are not top of the line, but are durable and nice looking, perfect for children. I am thrilled that Payless is coming to Israel!!
19. #10 Please do. They won't miss you!
Cynthia ,   USA   (04.14.11)
20. #15 You complain about everything
Deb ,   US   (04.14.11)
Just a pair of affordable shoes. The most expensive shoes can be uncomfortable. Work on your lousy attitude.
21. Listner up you Naysayers!!!
Afula, Israel   (04.14.11)
I went shoe shopping just the other day. I am happy to hear Payless is coming here. The majority of the shoe stores I stopped in our on the same quality level as Payless shoes in America. You say garbage or poor quality, well that's what I see for sale here anyways. Except they cost a fortune and the styles are old and dated. Until you live here and are shopping the stores I have to shop I suggests you keep your negative opinions to yourself. This will be a positive plus for many Israelis, my family included. Not everyone can afford $100 Noat shoes. And that is the the alternative to payless type shoes.
22. their commercial used to be
ari   (04.14.11)
"Payless shoe store. You could pay more but why? Why? Because I dont want a piece of crap on my foot. Complete and utter junk. Wont even grace the store with my presence. Oh one more thing if they come here I can promise you that their prices will be high just like everything else in this screwed up country
23. complete CRAP. Do not buy....EVER!
(04.14.11)
24. Payless is garbage
ck ,   Jerusalem   (04.14.11)
They are awful shoes made in unsafe, environmentally unfriendly sweatshop factories. Pay more for locally made shoes, they are a better value, they last longer and weren't made under abhorrent conditions. Why give your money to the Chinese???
25. I heard the rest of the Israeli shoe stores
jason white ,   afula, israel   (04.14.11)
are forming a new company and it will be call Paymore Shoe Stores. That's shoe business.
26. now we can buy shoes to trow at BIBI

27. A heads up
Little Miss Muffett ,   Sitting on a Tuffett   (04.15.11)
Yes, the shoes are cheap, so it's great for kids whose feet grow fast and makes it affordable to keep them in shoes. HOWEVER, the quality is not good, and the materials are very low quality. You can really smell the chemicals used in the fake leather or whatever material they use. Also, they don't have narrow widths, though sometimes they do have wide.
28. big sizes
shefrah ,   dimona israel   (04.25.11)

29. Payless Ramot Mall
Savta ,   Los Angeles   (06.05.13)
Very disappointed. They do not have the "return for any reason" policy like in the USA. We bought an expensive pair of little girls shoes which wen bad after wearing twice. We not only did not get a refund we were thrown out of the store. Sakal is unrepentant.
