1. Easy.
Jules   (04.13.11)
The Prime Minister should repeat one and the same mantra at every meeting with all "peace-makers": "Both FATAH and HAMAS must officially recognize Israel as 1) democratic 2) Zionist state 3) The Motherland of the Jewish people. Either "Yes" or "No" - otherwise, any negotiations are futile, because you can't negotiate peace with someone denies your right to exist. The Palestinians will never make such recognition; but the ball will be firmly in their court.
2. Tough days ahead Nonsense
Brod ,   USA   (04.13.11)
Why should defending your own liberated historic homeland of Judea and Samaria be difficult? Israel should knock the dark forces-AntiSemites and Islamist-Jihadists by exposing them as killers, aggressors and usurpers. These dark forces just finished destroying the Christian government and the country of Ivory Coast and ushered in the Islamist-Jihadist usurpers and killers. Unfortunately, Ivory Coast could not defend herself from the assaults of the Islamist-Jihadists and their manipulated mercenaries-the French soldiers who invaded Ivory Coast so they could hand over ivory Coast to the Islamist-Jihadists on a silver plate. Obama should be ashamed of himself for supporting the destruction of the Christian government and invasion of Ivory Coast so the Islamist-Jihadists could ravage and usurp her. It is amazing Congress does not even know what is going on. Now, these dark forces or international gangsters manipulated by the Islamist-Jihadists plan to do the same on Israel. Israel should defeat them without any qualms. Israel should get Opposition leaders like Sarah Palin, Trump, etc and Congress to attack the dark forces that are planning to crusade their Jihadism on Israel.
3. The EU, UN, Obamas are no match
Rachel ,   US   (04.13.11)
for the Almighty. What matters is what he wants.
4. What if...
Muayyad ,   Palestine   (04.13.11)
"nothing substantive will be happening on the ground even if 150 states recognize Palestine in line with the 1967 borders" What if you're wrong? Remember how "Israel" came about? Cant compare with universal consensus on the '67 borders.
5. #3: What does God want?
Canadian Dude ,   Canada   (04.13.11)
6. Rachel #3: Are you God's spokeswoman?
Canadian Dude ,   Canada   (04.13.11)
Do you have God's phone no.? If so, just ask him to part the Red Sea so we can film it on CNN, then we'll do whatever you ask once we have proof that you know what God wants, or that you know which books he wrote as opposed to which books were fake inventions of mortal men. 'Til then, in real democracies, we usually recognize the obvious symptoms of mental illness in people who invoke invisible, untestable supernatural beings in order to justifice violence and oppression. Is the world being unreasonable and flying in the face of "God"? Would you prefer to discover the magnitude of your delusions the easy way, or the hard way?
7. No more retreats or concessions
John cone ,   USA   (04.13.11)
Israel and bibi has got to stop the game playing and start to fight back against world imperialism. Be a Kennedy not a chamberlain and put a cost on the world if the world pressures israel. If obamas poodle barak does not like this fire barak. Israel must act as a independent country not a colony.
8. #4 , Muayyad
Eddie ,   london UK   (04.13.11)
Remember that back in '47, the Arabs all rejected partition, and then declared war. Will they also declare a war of liberation now? In 1988 the State of Palestine was already declared, so they can do it again. The British Air force, the once mighty RAF cannot even defend its own skies, and does not have enough trained pilots to drop bombs, so do not look to the EU for help.

...ground even if 150 states recognize Palestine in line with the 1967 borders." in this case all areas would be (theoretically) under palestinian control, or not ? if the IDF wouldnt withdraw, they might complain at the UN... couldnt this lead to UN troups in the west bank ? (apart from sanctions etc etc)... further, they could build streets and housing whereever they want, and as much as they wanted ? they could tax the settlements ? the settlers would live under palestinian jurisdiction then ? the palestinians would set up border controls, and not let any of your police etc in anymore - maybe ? are you sure, nothing would change on the ground ? im not so sure...
10. #6 Canadian Dude
Devorah   (04.13.11)
Does your theory also apply to the quran and the martyrs for allah?
11. "After two years of futile talks..."
Michael Steiner ,   Bahrain   (04.13.11)
TALKS!?! What talks!?!?! After two years of talkING, perhaps. Talking about how he really wants talks but doing everything he could to ensure the talks never happen. Expanding settlements, letting settlers run riot in places like 7evron, conducting needless raids in Palestinian areas, etc. The jig is up. Whereas five years ago we could truthfully aver that the Palestinians were duplicitous, obstinate and unreasonable, this time the failure to make progress lies SQUARELY in our corner.
12. To # 6 Canadian Dude
Rachel ,   US   (04.13.11)
He wants his people go live in their land. Genesis 12: 1-3. So September does not frighten me at all dude!
13. #9
John cone ,   USA   (04.13.11)
Of course israel could retake the west bank and transfer all the palis out if that happen. The US and the world will be breaking internatioal law if thy push for a palis state. Un resolution 242 remember.
14. There are NO 1967 borders...there is

16. THE SELLING OF ONE'S SOUL
Steve Feuerstein ,   NYC/USA   (04.13.11)
We have learned last week from an Arab pollster that one of 3 Palestinian Arabs believe that slitting the throats of the beautiful and holy Fogel family was an honorable act, a heroic undertaking of martyrs. Another 50% have no opinion either way regarding such an act of barbaric murder. How is it possible that such a people could be rewarded with statehood on a parcel of land that my people, the Jewish people, have inhabited on an uninterrupted basis for 2,000 years prior to the existence of the Muslim faith? If one ever wants to see the political power of the oil nations at its fullest, one need not look any farther than the support for a Palestinian state on Jewish soil. In short, I subscribe fully to the Talmudic dictum that there's nothing worse than evil than mercy to evil. We must be strong and have courage!
17. Israeli govt. must say "NO" loud & clear.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.13.11)
The more Israel concedes; the more Israel is pressured. Israeli voters strongly rejected the evil Two State Final Solution and decimated it's major Knesset champions: Labor and Meretz. A cursory glance at a map proves Israel could not survive a decade if we allow a hostile new terror state in Judea and Samaria. Israel's waist would shrink to a suicidal 8 miles (15 minute tank ride). The Israeli government must say "NO" loud and clear to this abomination. Once we do so, we will free our many millions of friends worldwide, especially in America, to support us in rejecting this monstrosity. U.S. Republicans offer us virtually wall to wall support in rejecting the horrid Two State Final Solution.
18. The PM made up his mind long ago. Arab state on its way.

Mouthpiece for Jews giving up their homes. Make some room for your buddies in your present location.
20. Brinkmanship
Baruch Norman ,   Bat Yam   (04.13.11)
The excellent TV Documentary series Pillar of Fire has an interview with a member of an Arab delegation describing the efforts we made before the vote on partition, He described it as a lesson in politics in action. A UN General Assembly vote this September brings the historical cycle back the starting point. And just as we who had no state and so little chance of one played the game, the Palestinians have found an opportunity in their similar weakness to do the same. Neither we nor they are ready or willing to negotiate, to make compromises, to pay prices. The choices have become very stark indeed. The US cannot abstain in September. Nor can they veto - they have no veto in the GA. We are either forced back to the table and to make new efforts to reach a final status deal, or we, Israel, face being international outcasts. We can no longer squander our friendships in the world - we've done that already. There are only 6 months to go. Either Bibi is the statesman who steps up to the plate and gets the page in the history books as the man who...or its a footnote as the man who consigned us to a perpetual Metzada
21. NR.3 AND 12. YOU ARE RIGHT - STAY BLESSED !!!.
Orao. ,   Srbia.   (04.13.11)
22. Who is ready to give me an answer?
FO ,   Belgium   (04.13.11)
Should I remind again and again that International Law is on the side of Israel and not the contrary? Should I remind again and again that since 1922 (The Mandate for Palestine by the League of Nations) the Jews have the IRREVOCABLE RIGHT to settle anywhere in the area between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River, a RIGHT UNALTERED in INTERNATIONAL LAW and valid to this day due to ARTICLE 80 of the CHARTER of the UNITED NATIONS? Why does an Israeli PM refrain from shouting this in the face of Ban Ki Moon who is bound to the decisions of the late League of Nations by Article 80, shouting the same in the face of Obama and remind him that the United States signed in 1924 the Anglo American Treaty, concerning the Mandate for Palestine, that became the Law of the Land? Why does an Israeli PM refrain from shouting in the faces of European leaders, that the European countries that signed at the League of Nations in 1922 the so called "Mandate for Palestine", giving the Jews the above mentioned rights, are still bound to it, if being a member of the UN, by Article 80 of the Charter? Is the present Israeli PM unaware of recent history? Is he unaware of the writings of Rostow, Stone, Grief, Gauthier and others? Who is ready to give me an explanation to this unbearable situation?
23. #4, Israel didn't come about by UN partition and you know it
Jake   (04.14.11)
The 1947 UN Partition PLAN was a non-binding recommendation, one that the palestinian Arabs and the Arab countries decided to reject by force of arms. No states were created by the partition PLAN, because the UN and the Brits refused to implement partition over the objections of the Arabs. The partition PLAN was dead in the water. Israel was invaded on all sides, but survived and consolidated more territory in the process. Only in May,1949, after Israel was a well-established fact on the ground to be reckoned with, did the UN grant formal "recognition" and membership to the State of Israel.
24. The Next Steps
Adam Neira ,   Melb, Australia   (04.14.11)
An objective, truly independent negotiator;s presence is required in the Holy Land. Someone who will be aware of all of the issues and groups involved. The various stakeholders in World Peace 2050 are numerous. The State of Israel and the Jewish people as a whole can choose to be shareholders in World Peace 2050, or they can impede its evolution and growth. All good corporations need a top CEO however... The Holy Land is performing at about 15% of its true potential. I am ready and so is my team.
25. #22 - answer to why doesnt the pm shout that around the UN..
eporue ,   europe   (04.14.11)
because you are not right... with the declaration of the state of israel, those previous rulings/agreements were void... nobody shouts that at un sessions etc, because the audience would burst into laughter...
26. One- sided concessions will appease no one
Shalom Freedman ,   Jerusalem Israel   (04.14.11)
The Prime Minister should not make one- sided concessions. They will satisfy no one and only lead to demands for more. He should stand on the insistence for a negotiated deal.
27. NR 25.
Orao. ,   Srbia.   (04.14.11)
WHAT KIND OF IDIOCY IS THIS - ISRAEL CAN DEFEAT AND CANCEL, ALL RULINGS AND AGREEMENTS DONE BY THE INTERNATIONAL COMUNITY, BY HER ACTIONS. WELL, WITHIN ISRAEL SHE CAN CERTAINLY IGNORE AND ANULL THEM, BUT AMONG THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY SHE CAN NOT. THE INTERNATIONAL COMUNITY IS BOUND BE ITS WORDS IN THIS REGARD, AND CAN NOT CHANGE ITS RULINGS, BECAUSE OF WHAT TAKES PLACE WITHIN ISRAEL, A THING WHICH THE INTERNATIONAL COMUNITY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH, AS LONG AS ISRAEL FOLLOW INTERNATIONAL LAW FOR ITS INHABITANTS. Orao.Srbia.
28. #22,San Remo clauses are still VALID and BINDING !
Trumpeldor   (04.14.11)
under your "international law" ............
29. #25 eporue - Wrong!
Phil ,   Ireland   (04.14.11)
The establishment of the State of Israel did not change the legal status of the West Bank and Gaza which is still under the rules of the British Mandate. These lands did not become part of a state or a state in themselves so their legal standing is protected under Article 80 of the UN Charter. They are unallocated British Mandate territories. The British Mandate in turn allows for Jewish settlement under Article 6.
30. #11. Judea/Samaria legally belong to Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.14.11)
The most maddening thing about the Israeli government's cowardice is that we have incontrovertible legal proof, as you note, that Judea and Samaria belong to Israel. Yet Netanyahu hides it. The Israeli government should serve it on the U.N., all international bodies, all world governments and all world media. Instead Netanyahu betrays his mandate and engages in phony "peace talks" designed to destroy Israel. Judea and Samaria are legally ours. We need only publicize the proof. See, for instance, "The Myth of Israel's Illegal settlements" by Prof. David M. Phillips, Northeastern University School of Law. We must claim what is ours totally and unconditionally.
