31. to #27 these olive trees weren't pull from the roots
ghostq   (04.14.11)
they will grow back and olive trees r desert tree that barely got roots, what a metaphor to describe palis anyway the trees can grow in hot sunny dry areas, and they r seasonal meaning they don't need rich soil or moist to grow, you can cut olive tree and the tree will grow beyond age 100, unlike other trees, when you will cut other trees they will die, and roses is Bush not a tree, you must cut it other wise the thorns will be hazarat. sheesh people don't even know the different between Bush to a tree.

33. PALESTINIANS DON'T OWN, THEY STEAL!
david ,   USA   (04.14.11)
Palestinians keep stealing and calling it theirs. They are all illegal immigrants who dont have any claim to the Holy Land and should be sent back to their roaming tribes or their hated regimes that they run away from. This land belongs to Jews for 4,000 years.
34. Cutting the trees? Let's talk about cutting the throats of

Fogel's babies.
35. #18; Nate, Yes I did
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (04.14.11)
Near the end of the article and I quote" "Zar said. "There are some 20-30 trees in the grove, certainly not 150. Besides, the trees were trimmed, not uprooted, and we didn't do it." So even the number of trees cut down is in dispute, they said pictures were taken. But it's not clear whether the 150 number is accurate? Or was it 20-30? Again How much income are we talking about? When compared to terrorism and baby killing, hey I could care less about the trees?
36. yes, #34, maybe its the same guys...

37. How do you know that palestinains
#33 ,   Sam   (04.14.11)
are all immigrants from Arabia? Oh this is what your parents told you. What an #@!@
38. Olive trees are cut way back as part of growing process
adam eliyahu   (04.14.11)
Anyone who has ever driven past an olive orchard knows that farmers cut the trees down to their stumps as part of the farming process. WHy do you think the most common claim the arabs make against the settlers is the cutting of olive trees? Even if ti is so, cutting trees, even stealing land, does not require or justify taking the law into your own hands and killing the perpetrator, let alone innocents.
39. #18 Nate - can YOU read?
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (04.14.11)
Nate - "These are the ones left AFTER 150 were cut down. If you're going to try and prove a point, at least read the article first. " Classic case of a POT calling the kettle BLACK. Clearly YOU are quite UNABLE to read this sentence - There are some 20 - 30 trees in the grove, certainly not 150. (Itay Zar) The pali CLAIMS the figure of 150. And that is ALL he has. To paraphrase what Mark says about pronouncing guilt WITHOUT any evidence, the WC and you are simply WILLING to accept only the words from ONE side and practically IGNORE the other.
40. #39 - You Also Did Not Read the Story..
Doug ,   Rochester, USA   (04.14.11)
Or else you read it with your Hasbara-colored glasses on. "Civil Administration officials confirmed the details of the story and said they photographed the cut down trees". The Israel authorities confirmed the Palestinians story, not the illegal settler's story. And the authorities confirmed the trees were cut down as the Pal said and not "trimmed" as the illegal settler claimed.

the arab was paid off to destroy his own trees with US taxpayer's money via the 'peace partner' PA. Something proven done in the past.

Who cuts down trees just to spite someone? Ignorant stupid Morons who don't understand how precious trees are for the atmosphere and the earth, that's who.
46. #40; Doug, Stop the nonsense
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (04.14.11)
Whether there was 150 trees or 20-30 is not important. My point in post #10 was simple. I was offended by the fact that World C. thought this such an important story that it would go "viral" on the internet. With WC's help who would link the story to other anti-Israel sites. I found it a form of perversion, that WC has such a selective sense of outrage. Common sense would dictate that the needless slaughter of almost an entire family...including a 3 month old baby...would go "viral". But NO, what is the horrible outrage, some olive trees!! This deviant and perverted logic is common with the anti-Israel writer's, like yourself, who want to change the subject to some points of minutiae. Save it You make my point along with WC, better than I could. Your irrelevant post is proof positive of that, thanks!

boychick This story and the responses Hit A Nerve on Both Sides. Solomon You state that this isn't the Judism You grew up with I agree, however This world today 4-14-2011 isn't the world I grew up in either. Seems to me everything is about to reach the BOILING point, I pray day in and day out for wisdom, truth and knowledge and I read to gain understanding, But To No Avail I don't feel that things are going to change in Israel, because lack of action by Israeli government for the sake of Morals and world oppinion. Israel should IGNORE world oppinion until their citizens are safe, Gilad is returned and the pali's come to the table for Honest Peace. Shalom
49. #40 Doug CAN read but CANNOT understand
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (04.14.11)
Yes,Doug, the Civil Administration officials confirmed the details of the story. That TREES were cut or pruned etc. But NOT the crucial FACT - that the pali OWNS all those trees. Understand now, Doug? Like WC, you are CAPABLE of only CHERRY-PICKING details that fit into your anti-Israel BIAS and then trying to pass the patchy SCAM as a whole FACT. Just like what you did with the your "proof" - which has now been DEBUNKED - that Israel broke the 2008 truce.

No Such Thing As Illegal Settlers !!! They are LEGAL Citizens Od Israel with right to expand for Growing Jewish Society In The Land Of Israel. BTW the illegal squatters are called arabs or if you like bedouins. Israel's Settled the Land established a Capitol in Jerusalem Thousands of years before islam was thought of in a cave?

I am sure we understand each other and agree. Just to be clear: for me- the topic of the article, the TB's and my reaction to them, have to do with our internal Judaism; nothing to do with world opinion. Much of world opinion is preordained by the world's blindness. I hope we shall not fall victim to blindness as well. Shalom. Peace.

The biggest problem Israel has are the Haredi /Mea Sharim settlers. Their attitude is resentful and aggressive. If they were my trees - I would sue them, and seek justice. Even if I am Jewish I would drag them to court. The bigger problem behind this behavior - is that other peaceful Israelis will be aggressed - and will have to pay for their bad behavior - and when you have a soul - you must take responsibility for the long term consequences of negative actions. My support goes to the farmer of the olive trees - and my sympathy - it is his livelihood, and I would be just as outraged. The settlers have their settlement - and that's where they belong. The trees belong to the farmer - and nobody has the right to destroy them.
