Israel's reaction to the current upheaval in the Middle East is understandably one of pure self-interest, as is that of Iran and the US. Israel supported Mubarak, but condemned Gadafi (becuase one tolerated Israel and the other despises it); Iran supports Assad and condemned Mubarak (one relies on Iran, the other despises it); the US has to show its people it supports democratic movements everywhere in the worl (stuck between a rock and a hard place). Most of Iran's nuclear work is going on in deep blast proof enclaves that will take America's bunker busting technology to deliver. Israel does NOT have that capability.
