34. unbelievable
Ellen ,   Netanya/NYC   (04.17.11)
I couldn't write this is my first post ( hopefully both are printed) BUT I do not understand how people can use the talkback section of this article to be nasty at each other. How totally insensitive can someone be--a family just lost a child!!
35. Sad, So many Palestinians Children also

39. #35 - yes, but why don't you demand Hamas stop it?
William ,   Israel   (04.17.11)
I haven't seen one "Palestinian" run out and protest the use of your own children as human shields, either directly or indirectly. No one seems to protest the garbage on Gazan and PA TV which teaches kids to hate and celebrate deaths like this one. 2 kids from Awata, steeped in this type of hatred, felt it was worth to stabbed children in the night as they slept. If you don't stand up to protect your own kids, are you even in a position to decry their death? To this day, you've never witnessed a school bus with Arab kids hit by a tank shell or RPG. Yet, we just did and have heard justification for it.
40. #35 - second comment, re: irresponsible parents
William ,   Israel   (04.17.11)
In the early months of the 2nd failed intifada, kids were pulled from school and told to go out and confront the IDF as they entered Nablus. Now these are the same kids that feel it comfortable to jump on the back of IDF APCs with smiles on their faces as they drove through town. Go see plenty of videos of this on the web. But when parents are interviewed, either they launch into racist tirades against Jews or they say they cannot control their own kids. Not an excuse. If you're a parent, you do everything you can, even give your own life, to protect your kids. You'd tie them to the bed if that's what it took to keep them from joining a gang to attack IDF soldiers. ...at least, that's what normal parents would do. When your ilk say "I only wish I had more sons to offer for the Palestinian cause" instead of "WTF, HAMAS! Stop using our kids as human shields", there is only one conclusion to make.

Chay ,   USA   (04.18.11)
Baruch dayan emes. This is so sad. I had not understood before how serious his injuries were due to the lack of information reported in the US media.
44. Tears in heaven
Kjell Andersen ,   Kristiansand Norway   (04.18.11)
This was sad to read. I have asked for Daniel since I became aware of his situation and it is with deep sadness I read that he was dead. May God take him into His kingdom and to give his beautiful soul, eternal life. And to his parents and family members: some will always remember you and pray the Almighty to comfort you in sorrow.
45. Somebody has to be held responsible
andrea ,   canada   (04.18.11)
It's sad when a young life is taken, but particularly when the one doing this is not the almighty, but a savage killer. I hope heDaniel's in peace, near Hashem, and his family can recover from this terrible lost. My condolences.
46. RE #40 Palestinians can't tell Hamas to piss off...
KB ,   SP, CO   (04.18.11)
..Otherwise they would be free and they wouldn't be occupied by a terrorist government. I bet that if Hamas' forces weren't on the street their approval would be in the single digits. No one who brings a military response on their own people can claim to represent them. Plus there are a whole lot of brainwashed ones who do support Hamas, it would be difficult otherwise to find suicide bombers etc. If you treat people like animals, don't be surprised if they occasionally bite you. Same goes for terrorists who launch hundreds of missiles and mortars at unarmed civilians so that their own civilians can get killed.
47. Build! Build! Build!
Bruriah Sarah   (04.18.11)
With each rocket, with every violence committed against Israel, Israel must continue building....That is the best response.
48. #19 - Jake, reminds me of an incident in my undergrad days
William ,   Israel   (04.18.11)
Standing in line at a convenience mart, some punk kid ran up to the counter, stole $20 from someone, and took off. She cried for help and to call the police, everyone just looked down and kept doing their business. An obvious crime if there ever was one. It pissed me off enough to run after the guy, confront him, and get the $20 back. The moral of the story? Never rely on others to do what is right. YOU must do what is right regardless. So while the UN, J Street, Haaretz stooges, Goldstone - everyone - remains silent on this very grave war crime, Israel must ignore it and their future vitriol, and continue to kick the crap out of terrorists and their supporters.
49. #41 - can't give back that which wasn't stolen
William ,   Israel   (04.18.11)
Give back to who - illegal Arab economic immigrants who arrived in droves in the 1930s? Since 95% of the land was not even privately owned, exactly WHO should the land be "given back" to? Ottoman Turks? Go pound sand. There's a mountain of documents which show the Pally narrative to be a crock of crap. If you're referring to only West Bank and Gaza - save your breath. "Palestinians" already said it wouldn't appease them if they received it for a State.
50. May G-d accept Daniel's soul and bring peace to his family
William ,   Israel   (04.18.11)
I am deeply sorry to the family for their loss. Love to Daniel and his family.

53. #19..AGREE with you - where are the Voices of Justice ?
Abraham ben Jacob ,   Canada   (04.18.11)
54. Perhaps Goldstone will regret this too
rivkah f ,   jerusalem   (04.18.11)
Daniel's untimely death partly results from lies like the Goldstone Report and the continuous barrage of accusations against Israel which prevent retaliation against Gaza terrorists. According to world opinion, the lives of civilians in Gaza who support terrorism, voted for a terrorist government & shield terrorists are worth more than those of Israelis (mostly Jews). Like many others, Daniel died partly because of that mindset.
55. This is so sad. There was a moment a few days ago he opened
Bat Zion ,   Central Israel   (04.18.11)
his eyes, so I believed he would make it. I have tears in my eyes.
56. since when a funeral at night?

57. # 41 Show Israel How It's Done
Thomas ,   US   (04.18.11)
Give the Basques, who are older than the Spaniards and the "Palestinians" their autonomy. Stop locking up their journalists and denying them their democratic rights. ps. Torturing animals like bulls isn't a real sport.
58. So sorry!
Cathy ,   Pennsylvania, USA   (04.18.11)
My prayers are with your family! May Abba comfort you!
59. Hamas
David Asleson ,   Minneapolis USA   (04.18.11)
