Rachel ,   US   (04.19.11)
So what.
2. What is the problem? Turkey is a muslim country.
Johnny ,   Stockholm Sweden   (04.19.11)
What possibly could Israel, or any western country gain from cooperation with Turkey?
3. What arrogance?!?!
petr vojta ,   prag   (04.19.11)
Erdogan is one the most popular leaders, so why would he mention "embarising project" which went so wrong for humanity? Petr czech
4. OBSESSED WITH ISRAEL?
Americsn ,   Los Angeles   (04.19.11)
The turkish government and the media are doing everything possible to turn the public oppinion in turkey against Israel and the jews in general, the problem is the support they give to other islamic terrorist regimes in the ME like Iran,Syria, hamas and hesbula.
5.  1. The Turks don't like you ,...
split ,   US   (04.19.11)
No kiddin' Do you know anyone that does ? ;) ,...
6. So what else is new?
Davy ,   Canada   (04.19.11)
Surprise, surprise.Pragmatic Turkey, pragmatic Egypt barely stomach you while religious Turkey, religious Egypt despise you. Accept this fact, move on, and continue what you do best. That is, thrive while they wallow in their very obvious self destructive ways.
7. To TB #1&2: Rachel US & Johnny Sweden!
Billy ,   Burlington, Canada   (04.19.11)
Historically Turkey proved to be an important ally to the west & Israel. Otherwise several Israeli administrations wouldn't be keen to strengthen ties. Israel is becoming more isolated in the area & definitely strategic relationship with Turkey is fatally needed.
8. Turkey Supports Terror
Boo Radley ,   USA   (04.19.11)
What's this islamist state still doing in NATO?
9. This shouldn't surprise anyone...
Gabriel ,   Jerusalem   (04.19.11)
...it's just a maintenance of the current status quo - a tense "relationship" with Israel. Long ago Erdogan made it quite clear what his approach was towards Israel. He's clearly hostile to Israel and Jewish national rights, and it will continue.
10. Erdogan making plans for his policy 11 years from now
zionist forever   (04.19.11)
If Erdogan is making plans for what his policies will be in eleven years time then he is either an arrogant fool or he intends to be the muslim worlds next dictator. If Erdogan isn't there in 2023 then it won't really matter what his manifest will be. This pathetic little man says how important it is for Turkey to have good relations with the US but at the same time he is getting very cosy with countries like Iran. He is also alienating the EU, France & Germany are even less keen to grant Turkey the coveted EU membership now since he started to adopt a much more islamist position.
11. @5 is that anything new?
Daniel   (04.19.11)
12. "The frog and the ox" by Jean de la Fontaine
Genuine Moshe   (04.19.11)
The needy man, while affecting to imitate the powerful, comes to ruin. Once on a time, a Frog espied an Ox in a meadow, and moved with envy at his vast bulk, puffed out her wrinkled skin, and then asked her young ones whether she was bigger than the Ox. They said “No.” Again, with still greater efforts, she distended her skin, and in like manner enquired which was the bigger:I.23 they said: “The Ox.” At last, while, full of indignation, she tried, with all her might, to puff herself out, she burst her body on the spot.
13. #5; split, Yes, I do. 63% of the U.S.
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (04.19.11)
According to the last Gallop poll taken in February, 2011, Israel had a 63% Favorable rating. The Pals had dropped to 17% from 20% last year (2010). Down 3% from last year (that's a 15% drop in just One Year). Israel stayed the same at 63% a near record high. It seems everybody gets it here, in the USA, except you Wes. So Wes, you run in a lonely crowd. The vast majority of people here in the USA, like Israel. But they are for the most part objective. Not like you Wes, a virulent antisemitic, mean spirited person. Who seems consumed by hate. That's the difference, I hate nobody, it's a wasted emotion. But you Wes, live for it. I would say, you LOVE to Hate, how sad. Oh wait, I called you the "A" word, what does that mean? Am I trying to stifle your legitimate political criticism of Israel? Nah, Otherwise you would attack Gaddafi or Assad for killing protesters, and you know what Wes? You never have? What does that mean? that your criticism is selective, some would say :cherry picking"? Yes, that what it is, and reason is Antisemitism, busted! But maybe everything I say is Hasbara, right Wes? Keep thinking that, if makes you feel better.
14. NATO
marty ,   toronto canada   (04.19.11)
Time for Turkey to be booted out of NATO and Israel into NATO. When push comes to shove Turkey's interests and loyalties lie with Muslim nations - so be it. With friends like Turkey who needs enemies.
15. Bily from Burlington
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (04.19.11)
While Turkey was an important ally to Israel, historically Israel also has been a very key ally to Turkey. You may not know that but after the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus USA imposed a severe embargo on Turkey. This crippled the Turkist economy to the extent that the exchange rate of 1 USD went from 10 TL up to 1.5 Million in the 1980ies. In 1979 Turkish PM Ecevit declared that the treasury was in need of 70 cents to pay debt while the coalition partner Necmettin Erbakan was making a fool of himself begging for a few barrels of oil in Saudi Arabia and Libya and not getting anything except some insults from Khaddafi. It was the strong lobbying on the side of Israel and the American Jewish organizations that in the1980ies this embargo was lifted. Had it not been for that Turkey would still be in dire straights. Additionally Israel also lobbied with USA and EU in favor of Turkey''s acceptance into the EU. israel gave Turkey intelligence and military support to Turkey in the fight against the PKK and the capture of PKK leader Ocalan. Israeli lobby has always helped to stop the Armenian genocide bills from being signed by the White house. Loss or gain - It is mutual.
16. NOT 'activists'
Yakov ,   USA   (04.20.11)
Stop calling them Turkish 'activists' they were terrorists and criminals.
17. Erdogan the big mouth
Jeff ,   London , UK   (04.20.11)
Just mention ' Armenian Genocide' to the Turks every time they pick on Israel who are only trying to defend themselves against there terrorists
18. Who cares!! Happy Pass Over you all!!!
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (04.20.11)
19. #14 NATO & Turkey
(04.20.11)
-Current NATO action against Libya is headed by Turkey from the NATO headquarters in Turkey. -The 2nd man in NATO is a Turk. -Turkish Army is all over Balkans, Mediterranean and Afghanistan in NATO duties. So how exactly are you going throw Turkey out of NATO? By writing talkbacks?
20. turkey ignores israel
mark ,   t.a israel   (04.20.11)
erdogan is an observant o islam.he and many millions of muslims obey fanatically the surah 5/48 and 5/57 of quoran which states that islam supersedes all other religions and not befriend jews and christians. therefore all our problems with muslim world derives from those surahs .the problem is the religion.recently a poll conducted in turkey showed that 70 % of turks do not want jewish neighbour. we have the same problem with the arabs.
21. To Mark, N 13
Luiz Felipe Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (04.20.11)
Dear Mark from Georgia. I endorse your comment. But I say that not only in the U.S.A, there are a lot of friends of Israel. All decent and true democratic people, around the world, like me, do support the Jewish State, recognized by UNO in 1948, but, since today, hostilized by Muslim Arab neighbors. About Turkey, it is a pity that Kemal Ataturk's Laic Republic has been weakened, during the last years, by a fundamentalist and radicalist party, leaded by the refered "premier". I repeat: Israel will never be isolated. The shadows of past crimes, including from my Catholic Church, will never be repeated. I salute you.
22. to#5
Jennie ,   US/Israel   (04.20.11)
Oh yeah, not just one, but millions.... FYI there are much more people around the world who like Jews and ISrael, then the Turks,Iranians & their puppet chamas, fatah & others...I have a question to you,split...If you would ever be taken a prisoner, of who's country's authority would you prefer to become a hostage: the Turkey,Iran, palestinian authority or Israel? Israel is a tiny sliver of land in the ocean of enemy countries, enemies who are bound to innihilate the Jewish State for over 66 years. While milions of radical islamic groups are colonizing the world and spreading terror and threats to worlds peace and harmony, Israel is striving for peace, while defending their little Homeland. And in the process, finding the time, the brains & the might to give the world technological inventions, little brains like yours can't grasp...Be assured, that Israel survived much worth evil, then Erdogan and we will survive and persevere achmadeniad and all his ilk too....

Happy and kosher Passover to You and all the Iranian Jewish Community ! Peace to You All !
24. That is to be expected. He is still waiting on
Harry Wright ,   UK   (04.20.11)
an apology and compensation from Israel. He will lose face if he mentions anything about relations with Israel. It is an "honour" thing, you know. Some Turk will kill him for bringing dishonour by mentioning Israel...you know, like a bride left at the altar.
25. #19. Turks lead Nato ? Who would have known ?
Abraham ben Jacob ,   Canada   (04.20.11)
Turkish helicopter crashes in Afghanistan - yes that means they are in Afghanistan. Turkish Troops Stop Church Services in Cyprus on Christmas, Defrock Priests. Maybe it was turk pilots mistakingly bombing the civilian wedding ceremony.
26. #19 but you forgot one thing
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (04.20.11)
Can you tell me how many Turkish troops are in Afghanistan? I can. Less than 300 and all of them in Kabul, Not one combat soldier. What is Turkish army doing all over Balkans? please clarify. Basically nothing. And yes teh Libya operations are commanded from Izmir (Sirinyer) but can you tell me what is AKP s policies in Libya? I keep on hearing that PM Erdogan is against it. What side is he on? Is he fighting Khaddafi or is he supporting him? How many Turkish sorties were run in Libya (As far as I know none yet, only ships waiting around). It is all French UK and USA aircraft operating. Please stop looking at your self at the DEV AYNASI

28. erdogon seals his own fate - a nobody in history
Abraham ben Jacob ,   Canada   (04.20.11)
It seems as if erdogon keeps on cursing himself and his people over and over again. He just does not stop to see the real truth of his own failure of character and failed policies.
29. Turkey the genocide nation
Susya Bar Dror ,   IL   (04.20.11)
The AK-Party has the same policy as the previous political parties planning and executing the genocide against Armenians. And it is the AK-Party trying to invade Europe with turkish people to establish islam in Europe as a political force. No wonder, Turkey is now an oponent to democratic Israel.
30. #14 Nato will not be what it is if no Turkey in it
