is not to play politics, so shut up already.
32. Well daaaa
Ussishkin ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (04.22.11)
It is a shocking fact that since Oslo - stop yelling you red-necks! - yes Oslo, there hasn't really been a viable Israeli peace - there you go again, shut up!!! - plan. What there has been is a series of foot dragging events designed by the incumbent so-called leaderships to avoid both losing a minute sitting in their leaders' seats and making any concessions that would approximate to a deal for a Palestinian anything other than their continued submission under our occupation. After so many years of this status quo it is indeed hard to wake up to a new reality and understand that whilst these apologies for leaders have been sitting in their chairs, things have changed. A genuine Zionist, someone representing the values we thought we would reflect after all those years in the Galut, all those years of oppression and Inquisition and Holocaust, would understand that a real act of Zionist statesmanship, an act which would secure our survival in a changed region, would be a final status deal with the Palestinians. Yes of course the day after such a deal is reached we will not cease to be the targets of terror or someone else's will to dominate our region. But we will have a future without the progressive cancer of occupation eating us up from inside and we will be able to concentrate on planning a new and exciting future for our children and their children, without the stigma and the cost of being occupiers. We need to face the truth we see each day in the mirror and not shy away from it, we need to take back our state from those who would drag it further into the mire and make it and us disappear. And it ain't Bibi who can do that.
33. Stop wasting time listening to peres!
jason white ,   afula, israel   (04.22.11)
peres was one of those that put us in this bad situation. They brought the terrorist murderer arafat and his thugs to our borders. They gave him money, arms, training and international recognition. bibi should first of all should hit the pali leadership. Next annex the land that is ours by law, history and conquest.Put the palis on notice they have 6 months to find another country to take them in. After six months we remove them from our land permanently.
34. Bravo the Utopian, The question is ?
AlbertoGA ,   St. George, USA   (04.22.11)
How far will you go to give part or all of Israel ? S T O P the BS now.
35. To no 17
LION OF ZION   (04.22.11)
Do you really think Israel will accept RIGHT OF RETURN & Jerusalem to be the capital city of the Islam? NO way mate> Peace between Jews & islam will never happen, unless Muslims starts from now to teach their children against hatred and incitements against JEWS & infidels
36. There is no need for a new plan
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (04.22.11)
What we really require is doing nothing until the Arabs fulfill their obligations under the previous treaties. To date the Arabs have never fulfilled a single one of those obligations.

Shlomo Kamera   (04.22.11)
At last! A zionist, and a jew who makes sense. Well said!
38. #4 eporue - PROVE it !
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (04.22.11)
Do reveal ALL your proof that Bibi's plan is "pretty violent" and also not "in compliance with intl law and human rights... " At the same time, do SHOW exactly what the palis' "PEACE" plan is about and what they have done EXACTLY that are NOT "pretty violent" and also "in compliance with intl law and human rights... " Should be a hoot.
39. #32
Suzy Weinstein ,   USA   (04.22.11)
Red necks what a arrogant person you are. Peres in my opinion is more interested in his legacy and financial future of him and the peace center than peace. If israel had not negotiated from a position of strengh instead of constant appeasement we may have had peace. Oslo was a disaster. Better a live and hated israel than a dead And loved israel besides we don't occupy most of the major population centers get your facts straight.
40. A Peace from the Israeli side is
Israel;Israel;Israel   (04.22.11)
not required. The Jews have always been peace-loving people. It is only the arabs who can only live with themselves, and even at that, they fight. The Palestinians (whomever they might be) are war-mongering and a dangerous race of people. At the same time, I think we might all be inclined to be so if we didn't know where we belonged. One thing is certain, the Palis DO NOT BELONG IN ISRAEL! They need to pack up and leave. And it doesn't have to be Jews, it would be exactly the same if it were another nation like themselves, from NEVER-NEVER LAND!
41. ISRAEL NEEDS A WAR PLAN
LAWRENCE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (04.22.11)
Forget about peace.
42. # 7 Will this fool never shut up
Moragh   (04.22.11)
Bravo Terry. At last to let this old fella know he is nothing short of being a trouble-making clown! Shut the hell up Peres! Do you realize how much fuel you are adding to the flames? Why can't you spend your short time left in some form of peace?
43. international meddling has prevented peace
bernard ross ,   st anns bay jamaica   (04.22.11)
the only time peace was made was Egypt and jordan realizing they were not going to win by war. Israel should refuse any indirect negotiations or foreign observers. the "pals" do not make peace because they always think they can get more by negotiating with others rather than Israel. Perhaps no peace is better at this time as there is no st.able arab entity that does not want israel destroyed.
44. #28 Dave - did you READ all Oslo-related info CAREFULLY?
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (04.22.11)
Cos if you did, you will KNOW precisely what Arafat PROMISED to do in order to SECURE the Oslo Accords with Israel. And based on what the palis PROMISED, Israel OFFICIALLY recognised Arafat and his cronies to REPRESENT the palis (thus legitimising their position in the peace process). So go on, have a REAL read before you continue to make a FOOL out of yourself. Then reveal EXACTLY what the palis had done to FULFILL any of the seven PROMISES.
45. Many in Israel want land, schnorr, easy life. Peace is last.
Michael ,   California, USA   (04.22.11)
46. You need to want Peace to have a peace plan, not?
Michael ,   California, USA   (04.22.11)
47. To put it bluntly! Dear Shimon
Moragh   (04.22.11)
can't you sit back and enjoy the time G-d had given you for your retirement. Why constantly continue with the work of PM Netanyahu. Don't you understand that your friend and President, Bibi knows how to handle the difficult situation he has around his neck. Please Mr Peres, sit back and relax. If President Netanyahu requires your input, I am sure he is quite capable of asking for your assistance in any matter concerning the State of Israel. In the meantime, please give the public a rest without your input.
48. David @ 16
Good Friday 22 04 11   (04.22.11)
Peres has left Israel in one helluva mess. That old man needs to shut the hell up and give the public as well as the Jews a well deserved rest. When Peres retired I breathed a sigh of relief. He has more to say now than he ever said when he was President. The trouble is the amount of TROUBLE he is bent on causing now. Will the clown ever give the Jews a rest. I bet this won't be printed!
49. #22 BEST IDEA YET
Yaakov ,   NYC, USA   (04.22.11)
I totally agree with you. I wish this was done a long time ago.
50. 39 No peace plan needed then?
Ussishkin ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (04.22.11)
While I agree with you on some of what you say about Peres, for once he's right. What facts are you alluding to? And what's another word for reactionary? What's another way of describing a Jewish T-Party imitator? Where's YOUR peace plan? No need for one? You must be kidding - mostly yourself. Shabbat Shalom.

54. There's No Fool Like An Old Fool
Dan ,   USA   (04.22.11)
The Arab countries don't want peace...they want the total destruction of Israel
55. "we need to implement peace"
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.23.11)
..... :^I LOL Nice try, time to retire and become a comedian Shimon. After all your time in Israel, in the army and in the Knesset this is the wisdom you've acquired??? Somebody tell this guy : - you can't always choose you enemies. - you can't force peace, it has to be wanted by both sides and quite obviously isn't.
56. to nr. 35.
realist ,   world/planet earth   (04.23.11)
incitements and hatred against palestinians and to arabs in general are also present in "israel". for instance i saw on tv an election-campaign of ysrael beiteinu in 2009 where several people shouted: death to the palestinians, death to the arabs. both parties incite/ hate eachother thouroughly and need a mentality-change. i donot choose for a/one certain party. i try to be objective in all cases.
57. Bibi Had a Plan, Then Backed Off
Noah Lev ,   HollywoodUSA   (04.23.11)
News reports today tell of Syrian massacres of unarmed civilians who are protesting the dictatorship. Libya is exploding and imploding.US sending drones to aid one side. Egypt still a question mark? Yemen, Bahrain, Jordan problematic. Iran deploying ,more lethal weaponry to hit ships in Red Sea. Yet Israel stil the focal point of contention at the UN. No plan? Hear Bibis red lines at BarIlan. The right of return never off the table per Palestinians? What! Such a deal. To Israel: present Bibis plan before our Congress and YOUR kNESSET. Dont back off. Your survival is the important ingredient in all of this. You have the might, but not the resolve apparently. Still Jews afraid of the gentiles or pagans.
58. Make peace the old fashioned way !
Gabe Yakmore ,   Canada   (04.23.11)
Annex Judea and Samaria then talk about peace with the neighbors.
59. Shimon Peres SUPPORTS J Steet
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (04.23.11)
Recently, Peres expresses IMMENSE support for J Street, and CLAIMS that there are only SMALL differences between Israel and the palis to achieve PEACE. This is despite J Street's attempt to STOP a US Congressional petition against pali INCITEMENT and its wholehearted WELCOME for people who are active in the BDS movement against Israel. Earlier this year, J Street URGES the US to SUPPORT the UNSC vote - instigated by the palis - against Israel. And two years ago, J Street tries to garner support to FORCE the US Congress NOT to impose tougher sanctions against Iran for REFUSING to curb its nuke weapons obligations. And J Street CHOOSES to plump for Peres' stand even AFTER the horrendous Itamar MURDERS of a family, including a BABY. Meanwhile, his Peres Centre for Peace PRAISES Abbas/Fayyad as a DREAM TEAM and claims that Israel does NOT have one.
