2. real money
Ethan Schwartz ,   Eilat   (04.24.11)
In the USA I can legally use any currency ever issued by the US government. Here it some bureaucrat's hobby to change coinage and to remove old coins and make them no longer acceptable. Change them if you want, but don't make old money no longer negotiable. Grandma still has money from her last visit that she wants to send to her grandchild for his/her birthday every year.
3. #2 - Oh, really?
Michael Davison ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (04.24.11)
I'd like to see you use a "gold" note issued before 1933 in the US. No bank or store will honor it as legal currency. The same holds true for "silver" certificates issued until the early 1960s. The only use for such notes is as collector's items. When Great Britain changes its banknotes in the early 60s, there was a deadline for exchanging bills in banks. The same thing happened when the GB Pound went decimal. Try to use an old coin from the pounds, shillings pence era in England today.

It also means that forger's will not be able to keep passing fake notes by passing them off as "old ones". It is a good idea and I will keep some for my grandchildren.
7. Who needs this?
Michael ,   Jerusalem   (04.25.11)
How much does changing the currency and coins cost the public? Its a waste of money.
8. Could it be that the metal is worth...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM   (04.25.11)
