1. GO DO BIZ WITH HAMAS! IDIOT!!!
Ben Yisrael ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (04.29.11)
2. So to make money, these "israeli" fools
jason white ,   afula, israel   (04.29.11)
will help the palestinian enemy. In other words, they are making the foreign policy of Israel and not the government. How about if they move to Sderot and Itamar with their families and no bodyguards? They supply the palis with electricity to produce weapons to kill Israelis. Doing business with the palis should be banned and those that do it should be tried for aiding the enemy in time of war. If not, then the next step will be to sell the palis weapons and explosives for "defense". The government should put a stop to this now!
3. Arab mentality
Danny ,   Chile   (04.29.11)
Do bussines with you with one hand, and with the oder they buy weapons to kill Israelis, take care one day they will bite your hand.
4. Business is the way to go. The principles
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (04.29.11)
involved in the business enterprise are absolutely at odds with political ideology of that which typifies Islam. Business ties create relationships based on sound practice. The possibilities between us and the Palestinians are enormous and even greater between us and the Arab world which the Palestinians could open us up to. The practical, hardheaded businessmen in the Westbank are also aware of how terrorism fractures possibilities. For them, Hamas and its associates are repugnant. Having said that, we cannot govern ourselves according to what's good for business if, at the same time, our own security needs are not met. So the process must be gradual. The underpinning of a better relationship with our neighbour is built up, however, through large and, especially, small business ties.
5. Appeasement encourages agression
Ralph Levy ,   USA   (04.29.11)
appeasement is the wrong answer as in the words of John F. Kennedy only encourages the aggressor. Eugene Rostow Under Secretary of state author of UN resolution 242 wrote in 1991 that Israel and Jews had a right to settle the West Bank, and that the British Mandate cannot be rescinded. He also said that Israel was not required to go back to the 67 borders.
6. His Money
jerry ,   israel   (04.29.11)
He is creating a false impression. This is ONLY TO PROTECT HIS MONEY.
7. OK. Now...
fg   (04.29.11)
...read Caroline Glick's latest op-ed on this very point at jpost dot com as a response in her call to Israel's normal people. In contrast to the malicious and totally, utterly baseless suggestions peddled here by failed losers whose mouth the very Palestinian Authority put incredible inanities, like this man and untalented hack writers, UNLIKE Caroline, she provides the real thing!
8. Ofer is dead wrong. Israel must claim Judea & Samaria.
Chaim ,   Israel   (04.29.11)
Ofer is clearly putting his business intersts above Israel's welfare. His defeatism and appeasement of Israel's enemies and collusion, with them, endangers Israel. Judea and Samaria legally belong to Israel. That fact has been proven by countless international law experts. All business must be done within the context of Judea and Samaria being integral to Israel.
9. #8 Chaim
Marcella   (04.29.11)
I agree with you. Please listen to April 14 David Bedein's show on INR about the influence of Israel-PA business on Israeli government policies.
10. GOOD STEP
peace is normal life   (04.29.11)
11. what a great human being Ofer is
Pam ,   Canada   (04.30.11)
The world would be a better place if there were more people like Ofer. Hoping and praying for his success.
12. Idan Ofer's catastrophe prediction
William ,   Israel   (04.30.11)
all play well into the Ofer Strategy, create fear, push govt action, set future economic stability, Ofer gets a built-in customer and money in his pocket. The Arabs are playing the racist card with Israel's elimination in mind, Ofer's playing the capitalism card with his bank account in mind. Honestly, money is what drives the "Palestinian" govt as well - extortion of the highest bidder.
13. South Africa was sanctioned for another reason
William ,   Israel   (04.30.11)
Namely, their Apartheid policy against their own citizens of a certain ethnic group. Israel is open and democratic, so no problem there. The "Palestinians" are not Israeli citizens, so no issue there. The Zulus didn't declare war on SA whites nor launched terror against civilians. Nor did the majority want to drive whites out of SA for good (not that SA was ever a Dutch homeland anyway). Big difference in ME where we see Arabs killing children in their sleep, and want a State in order to protect and fund their terror operations.
14. "what a great human being ..."
Vivian Clayborn ,   Copenhagen, Denmark   (04.30.11)
Agree ... starting out with the 'Palestinians' and Hamas.
15. "optimistic leftist" = DEAD JEWS
Moshe ,   Beit Shemesh, Israel   (04.30.11)
in 1993, Shimon Peres was "optimistic" about Arafat giving up terrorism. in 2004, the left was 'optimistic' that no missiles would fall in Ashkelon. there is NOTHING more dangerous to Jews than 'optimistic' leftists
16. #9 Marcella. Endangering Israel for dollars is worst treason
Chaim ,   Israel   (05.01.11)
Could anything be more despicable than endangering Israel, as Ofer does, for dollars? I don't think so. This is a special kind of treason. The worst kind.
17. Which came first...?
William ,   Israel   (02.07.12)
Peace with the Arabs would could drive fortunes for the Ofer family? or fortunes for the Ofer family which would force peace with the Arabs? Both are very unsettling.
18. #4 - Let's look back to 2000, shall we?
William ,   Israel   (02.07.12)
There was also the belief that business cooperation could trump violence, and peace would result. "Palestinians" had the fastest growing economy in the world, complete freedom of movement, and there was lots of business cooperation between Israel and them. But that was thrown away without even thinking, to launch a Nationalistic terror war against Israeli civilians. So if you think business cooperation could work better than Islamic violence, think again. At the end of the day, it's always been about Islamic racist hatred, and doing business is just a means to an end, like cease-fires.
19. the article is nine months old ..
michael redbourn ,   arad israel   (02.07.12)
