1. Shootings
Daniel Davenport ,   Israel   (04.24.11)
If this isn't an act of terror then lets show them what 'isn't' another act of terror by defending our people and our land from these murdering animals
2. I think this is another
Al Mujahid   (04.24.11)
example of friendly fire case.
3. Thank G-d it was a mistake
Dan ,   Israel   (04.24.11)
Israeli and Palestinians security officials are scheduled to meet later Sunday, to coordinate the joint investigation and to make sure that settlers should have permits to enter the West Bank.
4. What the hell is a ''security incident''???
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (04.24.11)
Nothing but BS double-talk , Orwellian language to distort reality. And, the reality is that this was MURDER, cold-blooded, deliberate homicide perpetrated by the Palestinian ''police'' (in itself, a euphemism for another terrorist organization). But, these are the ''good'' terrorists, trained & financed by the U.S. with the cooperation of our own imbeciles, chief imbecile, in this case, Ehud Barak. Let's remove check-points as a good-will gesture, right? Hand over security to the terrorists, right? Well, this was a ''good-will'' gesture from our peace partners. Give them a state, right? Then, you'll see how many ''good-will'' gestures we'll get in return.
5. nablus shooting not terror attack; also, pope ain't catholic
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (04.24.11)
6. "open fired for reasons unknown"
yoni ,   tel aviv   (04.24.11)
The reasons are very well known . There is no terrorist threat from Israelis entering Shchem. There are no Israelies going in to carry out attacks and murder babies like the arabs do The only reason for opening fire on Israelis LEAVING prayer is murder. When there is no IDF escort the PA shows its true colors and can get away with murder literally
7. Not getting it...
deebo_ ,   Holon, Israel   (04.24.11)
So they failed to file the correct paperwork and coordinate with the correct authorities. The only sensible thing to do of course is to ... OPEN FIRE??!! Did they pose any kind of threat? Were they given any kind of warning before being fired upon?
8. Thank G-d it was a mistake
Dan ,   Israel   (04.24.11)
Israeli and Palestinians security officials are scheduled to meet later Sunday, to coordinate the joint investigation and to make sure that settlers should have permits to enter the West Bank.
9. Next time coordinate the visit
Joseph   (04.24.11)
Next time they should follow the rules and coordinate the visit in advance instead of driving through unannounced--these accidents wouldn't happen.
10. by now: no permit, warning shots ignored.
eporue ,   europe   (04.24.11)
11. The PA will justify any and all murders against Jews.
Paul ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.24.11)
The twisted Western and Leftist Israeli Press will ignore the reality, but accept any lie the PA can come up with to draw 'security equivalency' between, Israeli justified security needs, and the never-ending genocidal goals of Arabs against Jews.
12. A terrorist attack by any other name......
Wise Saba ,   Ma'agalim   (04.24.11)
is still a terrorist attack. Enough leftist apologizing & call a spade a spade. The PA police are nothing but a bunch of murderous killers, terrorists & it's about time we started to treat them as such.
13. Josephs Tomb
dvorah ,   irvine   (04.24.11)
They are notching it up- the war that is. This was no accident- the Breslovers frequent the Tomb- they were no threat to anyone's security. The ARabs are testing our resolve, how much will blood will we spill before acting. A strong detterence is necessary- that is the only way to deal with these Arab savages. Force, brute force.
14. Ready for a state of their own.
Avi The Builder ,   Eretz Yisrael   (04.24.11)
This really proves they are really ready for statehood. They know how to murder innocent families in their sleep, bomb school buses, shoot rockets at innocent civilians & shoot up cars, yup they're ready.
15. Can I shoot uncoordinated too?
StoutViking ,   Israel   (04.24.11)
What if I encounter a "PalestiNARNIAn" without a staying permit in my neck of the woods? Do I too shoot him without warning, while screaming "For Odin!!!"? Or am I, as a civilized human being, who carries responsibility before the law, supposed to check if his papers are in order and have a police officer to arrest him, in case they are not? Conclusion: "PalestiNARNIANs" are not civilized human beings. Please, let them have a country... Then next time they commit a terror act, Israel could finally see it as a "declaration of war", and retaliate with full force.
16. Maybe the shooters had a
olim hadashim ,   tel aviv/israel   (04.24.11)
very unhappy and sad childhood etc. Pure lies !!!!
17. the new israeli leftitst vocabulary. no terror, incident..
(04.24.11)
18. Stupid and stupid
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (04.24.11)
Israelis shot at near Nablus tried to break through Palestinian roadblock
19. Yeah, give them a state
Matityahu ,   Slovenia   (04.24.11)
That will solve everything.
20. Permission to pray
Eli ,   Yerushalayim   (04.24.11)
We have to request a permission from every Muslim who wants to pray on "Har haBayit". It's easy they can ask a day or two before they want pray.
21. Time to fire some IDF generals
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (04.24.11)
This has got to be one of the stupidest, warped, unprofessional and irresponsible statements to come out of the IDF in a long time. According to this worldview, the IDF does not consider the killing of Border police officer Yossi Tabaji as murder. These IDF officers must think it was a "security incident" that Tabaji was shot and killed by a Palestinian policeman during a joint patrol, when the Palestinian simply turned and purposefully fired his weapon into Tabaji's chest. Why are we tolerating stupidity in the IDF? I thought it was reserved for the Knesset....
22. Oh yes, just a "friendly" fire by the terrorists
tanya ,   tel aviv israel   (04.24.11)
called "palestinian" police.
23. Why the warning shots? Were the officers being threatened?
adam eliyahu   (04.24.11)
This is absurd from the outset, even if you accept the PA version. Why were the warning shots fired? And I would like to understand, what is the difference between a security incident and an act of terror? Cops and soldiers go to jail for shooting unarmed civilians, even violent civilians.
24. Experiences at Joseph's Tomb
Paul ,   Israel   (04.24.11)
During my military service and reserve duty, I have had the dubious pleasure of guarding Joseph's Tomb a number of times. It is stuck right in the muddle of Nablus and on the outskirts of a refugee camp. To say that it is dangerous to get there is an understatement. We had to have a full company of 30 soldiers guarding the place 24/7, just so that these fanatics could go pray there. In light of the danger involved, the army has correctly decided that those who want to go to the tomb coordinate with them - that way they can organize a convoy and protect them. These Breslav Hassidim flaunt these efforts to protect them and attempt to sneak in at all times of the day or night, without prior notice. I once even caught a Breslav youth trying to saw through the protective metal cordon around the tomb with an electric saw he smuggled in - just so that he could get closer to it! Like I said, fanatics. It should also be noted that these Breslav Hassidim want to show the world and Israel that Eretz Israel is all Jewish and that they have the right of free movement anywhere, even though that they KNOW that it is a most provocative act to the people of Nablus. It is a political statement by them. The army cannot protect them and defend them if they don't coordinate with it. Therefore, sadly, this tragedy is on them, the Breslavs - both because they consistently provoke the people of Nablus AND because they intentionally did not coordinate with the army. Please place the responsibility for this tragedy where it is deserved - with the Breslav anarchists.
25. #24 you are transparent
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (04.24.11)
Reading your letter gave me a good laugh, and not because of your total lack of morality or logic. You are trying to use some authority you believe you will get from allegedly being an IDF soldier and allegedly having served near Shchem, but your letter will only fool foreigners who haven't visited Shchem. For starters, next time you are going to invent a lie to support the murder of Jews, get your geography right. If you were ever in Shchem you would know that Kever Yosef is not "in the middle of" Shchem but at the outskirts.
26. Candidate for a Darwin Award!
(04.24.11)
He didn't co-ordinate with police and army. He got killed as a result.... yep! fits the Darwin Award criteria...send it in for a prize
27. Incident? Svage murder!
Shalom ,   U.S.A.   (04.24.11)
The fact that they desecrated Joseph's Tomb following the murder proves that it was an act of terror. Anybody who tries to deny it is a coward!
28. We have the I.D.F. making excuses for
jason white ,   afula, israel   (04.24.11)
the pali terrorists.Perhaps the d.m. burak will provide them with an alibi? Why is this little man using the I.D.F. as a tool against Israelis and to help the palis? Livnat should ask her fellow likud members to demand that bibi fire burak or resign himself. We must hit the pali police and their government leaders now! If they know who opened fire, then use the I.A,F, to drop a few bombs on the terrorist's house and his neighbors.Spread the collateral damage around.
29. Accidental Shooting?
pixel ,   USA   (04.24.11)
Accidental Shooting? Were they just "cleaning their guns"? The main question is: Why would you fire on someone going to pray at a shrine? Another question is : Why do you need an "appointment" to visit a Jewish shrine in you own country? Hope someone from the IDF answers both of those questions.
30. Unarmed praying Jews at JEWISH patriarch Joesph's Tomb
Jordan ,   Is, Palestine   (04.24.11)
not Muslim, not Christian. That Jews need permit to praay at the 3,500 year old Jewish location is stupidity defined. when you give up your rights it doesnt stop with your ancetors, your heros, your history...your very existence is called into question. Who are you? The response determines your "rights", self imposed and also outwardly imposed.........
